Hello all! This is my first post (of many I hope)...

I've never really stuck at anything in my life. My motivation levels go up and down like a yoyo. One day I'll be so excited to do something big, and the next day I can just lose all the drive and be like..'what's the point?'. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to this!

I became pregnant in 2008 which was the beginning of my fat disaster. Before then I never really had a problem with my weight. I always went from sizes 8-10 and back again. I've never been 100% happy with myself anyway, but now when I look back on my ignorance, I swear at myself for being so stupid at what I lost. Why wasn't I happy with the way I was? Because it's far better than what I am now. After the birth of my son, I think it was a mix of hormone levels and lack of exercise which made me keep all (and I mean all) of the baby weight. My body is now disproportioned, and I'm left constantly feeling sluggish, lazy, unmotivated, less than equal... I could go on. I also became agoraphobic,paranoid, depressed, had multiple anxiety attacks, and I was too embarrassed to even visit my gp for advice.

Then one day, something clicked. I don't want this any more, and I'm going to try my best to get back (or as close as possible) to what I was before. So here starts my journey.

I recieved my months supply of shakes, bars, and soups on Monday (luckily am), so I got started right away. I have to say the first day was so easy! I just wasn't hungry at all... Probably to do with the fact I have a stinking cold. Day 2 I woke up feeling starving, so I had a bar for breakfast. Waiting for the other meals was difficult too, and after wards, I can't say I wasn't still hungry. Today is day 3, and I just had a banana shake for breakfast. I really enjoyed it :) the bars aren't too bad (prefer the toffee nut and raisin) and the soups are meh. Feeling a little better than yesterday already. Just got to remember all the water.


Start weight (mid april): 178lb

Monday weight: 170lb

Oh yeah.. I lost 8lb before I started exante by eating only eggs, white fish, chicken, turkey, green salad/veg for 2 weeks. I decided to do exante because it's far easier than trying to think of what meals to cook for myself every night, and then cooking again for my fiance and son!
 
Hiya and good luck. I agree with the cooking meals, I am much heavier than you and my problem is binge eating, I can eat healthy for a good space of time ... i just eat too much *sigh*

I am over on Slim and Save but pop on here not and again as I did Exante last year but only lasted a week. Just keep imagining how you will look and feel next week, the following week and the week after that. You will change so fast xx
 
Thanks Lisa :) it's comments like that which really boost my confidence (don't have much of that lying around lol). I'm so determined to stick to this! I don't think it really matters what you weigh, as long as you're happy with yourself. It's your life, and you only get one of them, so you should do what ever you can to make you happy right?

I'm on my 2nd day today and I too woke up starving! I'm just having a couple cups of black coffee before having a shake though.

I completely understand where you're coming from about being agoraphobic and depressed. I rarely leave the house at the moment. Mostly because I don't know anyone really and I'm embarrassed of the way that I look. I *am* going to change that though and so will you!

We can do it!!! :)
 
I know exactly what you mean. The worst bit for me is the fear of bumping into people I know. I just know they will be thinking "omg what happened to her! What a mess!" I try to keep away from public places as much as possible. Lately I've been going out walking to try and get a bit of exercise, but I've been doing it at 5-6am where there's barely anyone out. And even then I go out in a hoodie to try and hide my face, just in case. I sound like a menal case haha. My tummy is grumbling as we speak!... Must...wait...for... Lunch! xD

It is very comforting to know that someone else out there knows what you're going through.

Yes! That's exactly how I feel! I moved to Birmingham from London a year ago and whenever I visit there I'm terrified anyone will bump into me! I'm not so scared here, because I don't know many people around here.
You don't sound like a mental case at all!

I haven't had anything yet. Do you drink black coffee or tea? Or even green tea? Soda water is good as well. I need to get some! The bubbles make you "feel" fuller lol.
 
Good luck with your journey. I'm on week 9, tomorrow is my WI day and so far I've lost 30lbs. This diet is fantastic because it's just so easy once you get past week 1. I love not having to think about food, plan meals etc. The only hard bit is remembering to drink enough water which I've not been good at this week. The first week obviously is the hardest but once you go into ketosis (anytime from day 3 onwards) you'll no longer feel hungry and you'll feel more energetic too. I feel so much healthier doing this diet than I've felt in years.
 
Ohh I wish... I tried black coffee last week and it was gross :( it's annoying because I drink a lot of coffee usually. I'm thinking on my 4th 'food' week, I'll make just a very small meal, and have 2 cups of coffee with a cheeky splash of skimmed milk! I'll try it again later, but I doubt I'll like it :p x

And thanks for the support jae :) I have high hopes for this diet! And with everyone on here being so nice and supportive, I think I'd be scared to slip up through fear of dissapointing everyone haha.

And guess what!!.... Almost time for lunch xD
 
Have you tried the coffee with a sweetner? It does take some getting used to! Some people use the vanilla shake as the milk in their coffee. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure I will soon lol.

Which one are you having for lunch?
 
The support here is invaluable, without it I dont think I'd have made it this far and I feel like I've made lots of new friends :)

Thanks a lot Carrie :) I'm quite proud of myself for that. I actually managed to get myself into ketosis by eating those foods. Knocked myself out though on Sunday because I went for a last meal with my fiance before my diet haha...all you can eat Chinese buffet...oops! But it's okay because it really was my last meal out for a long time now. Until I reach my goal.

And today's lunch was a choccy orange bar! Veg soup for dinner!

Haha! I went out for a last meal with my bf and his mom as well! I had a vegetable lasagna with chips though lol. I'm glad I had that last meal out though!

At least I won't be wishing I had had one instead of not having one, if you know what I mean?
 
Yep definitely :) and I enjoyed it more too, knowing it was the last one, where I'd usually take it for granted and stuff my face. I was pretty sensible, and only drank water rather than my usual wine.

My veg soup is so good! I was really surprised. I'm having it now with my cup of yucky black coffee (i knew I wouldn't like it) x
 
I was gonna have wine as well but I had some diet pepsi (only because they didn't have diet coke) instead. Also, I had a headache & that would have just made it worse!

I had the veg soup last night. It left a nasty after taste though. Did you get one too? Or maybe it's just me? Did you try the coffee with a sweetner? I use the canderel tablets. x
 
I didn't get any after taste, but I do still have a cold, and I drink a load of water after my meals to top me up. I've had a funny icky taste in my mouth today though.. think ketosis is kicking in! I have ketostix to test later. Haha whenever I've tried to explain how they work to someone, the reaction is always the same "ewww". Also I have people saying "hmm that can't be good for you, only 600 clories" ... But the worst one is my mother in law... Telling me about all the food I'm missing out onand going "Ewww" and turning her nose up at my packs. Not helping one bit! Do you have anyone like that? Lol

And no I didn't try sweetener because I don't have any. I usually drink my coffee with no sweetener or sugar, but really milky. I'm tempted to open a vanilla shake and use it as coffee whitener twice adday!... Maybe that's a bad idea... Or I'll just stick to dividing vanilla shakes in 2 and making lattes with them!

Ah maybe! Hope you get better soon! Yep the ketosis is kicking in! I haven't bought any ketostix, I feel like I'll just know lol.


When I did lipotrim I had quite a few people tell me it wasn't healthy and all that but I just ignored them. My health is none of their business. I'm sure they wouldn't like if we were asking about what they were consuming! My bf's mom said there is no way she could do a diet like this, but she has considered having weight loss surgery instead?? That makes zero sense to me. At least this isn't invasive! And she'll have to eat pretty much the same amount we are anyways. But whatever!


I usually have my coffee quite milky as well, I'm getting used to the black coffee again. It depends on the quality of the coffee as well. If it's crap it's not going to taste that great, at least I think so anyways. You can do that with the vanilla shake! As long as you have the whole pack. I put coffee into my chocolate shake today, just like a frappuccino! Yum.

Haha. I just rambled on in my diary lol. x
 
Yeah but I was thinking of being sneaky and opening up an extra shake just for 1 or 2 coffees a day, and just adding 1 spoonful of it in my coffees. would that be such a bad idea? I figured it would last about 4-5 days if I'm careful with it.
 
Oh, um I'm not sure if that would affect your weight loss or not. I've always just stuck to my 3 products. You could always use the vanilla pack for the day and use a spoonful at a time. It would be kind of like having small "meals" throughout the day?
 
That's a much better idea. Or I could just save a bit to put in a coffee after lunch. Okay your idea is much better than mine :p


Oh another question :s do u think it would be okay to have sugar free polos between meals? They're 80 calories a tube but about 24 mints in a tube. I can make a tube last a week. Do you think that would effect weight loss at all?
