I am in my sixth week and my CDC checked me again on Friday and I am still not in ketosis. I have now given up the bars to see if this makes a difference and she will check again next week. I used to check myself, but found that in the morning the stick was slightly pink but as soon as I had eaten (well drunk really) anything it went beigy again... I did also feel rather strange for around 3 days after stopping the bars, hopefully this might have been carb withdrawal or something... I am fine now though.

Ketones are a by product of Lipolysis. The process of burning fat is lipolysis. So basically your body uses all its glusose/carb stores from the liver in the first few days, then you burn fat.

This shows up in your urine as Ketone Bodies are produed. I say Ketones are a by product but they are actually energy for your brain. Your brain either needs glucose or ketones for energy, thats why your body really makes Ketones. It just means your burning fat due to an absence of glucose.

Hope this makes sence and isnt confusing, sure the other thread probs says the same. x
