Is it to difficult to achieve

Hi I have been thinking of this diet but I am worried that because of the extreme small amount of calories you are allowed it would be to difficult to stay on track.
Can you tell me how difficult it is to stay focused and how long did the hungry pains last till you settled into this diet, was the weight loss quick. I would like to lose three stone by August, not sure if that would be Achievable. Thanks lindsey.

Some people find it harder than others.

If you have all your packs and drink all your water you will do well.

The first few days can be difficult (although I didnt find so)but once you are in Ketosis its a breeze (for most).

When I am not on packs I am constantly thinking of food and what I can eat - now I sometimes forget to eat to end up having my last pack for supper!

Yes, it's not hard to stick to after the first few day (which are undeniably awful). Ketosis kicked in by the morning of day 4 for me and I've rarely felt hungry since.

This, along with any other vlcd, needs willpower and determination. So you should only do it if its something you really feel you can commit yourself to. If you do - then you'll definitely see results (and quickly).

If you can stick to it 100%, then you should expect to lose on average 1 stone per month (often more in the first month, depending on how much you have to lose in total).

For many the first week is tough and the length of time it will take you to get into ketosis (the fat burning stage) will depend on how many carbs you have in your system at the start.

Also - being in ketosis does help ease the hunger pains, but some find they still get hungry at times - that's when you need willpower to stick at it.

What will keep you on track is getting the fast weightloss. Also because the vlcd products give you all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs you'll find you have more energy, your hair and skin condition really improves and you get a buzz from just feeling a lot better (or at least I do).

Have a read through some people's diaries and success stories - then decide if this is for you.

If you decide yes - then good luck and welcome to the world of vlcd's :)

Thanks everyone yes I think this is the diet for me I have emailed a consultant in my area, so hopefully start very soon.

Hello, I agree with all the above I'm on day 7 I never had any problems at all not even first three days I never felt hungry apart from when I am due a shake after having a shake I feel full for ages! I still want food and love smells of food and take will power to not try a small bit food but I keep thinking its not forever and when I start to eat again I will be learning so much more about what I eating , I actually learnt that I used to eat when I was not hungry I can tell a full point now which will be great for going up the stages of cd . Go for it I think your be surprised how quick you adjust my first weigh in tomorrow morning so excited !

Good luck I hope this works out for you!

I'm finding lots of motivation by reading the diary section, I thoroughly recommend it! especially if you are having a hungry moment and need to focus on why we are doing this.

I started SS on 2nd Jan & just had my 6 week in, total loss so far 2 1/2 stone! I set myself a target of 3 stone before my hols end of March so I'm pretty sure I can achieve that. I do have a lot to lose so it does come off quicker. I think your target is very achievable but you must be 100% focussed! I was in ketosis very quickly with no problems at all. Good luck & keep popping on here for the vital inspiration you will need xx

Fantastic weight losses girls, consultant coming around tonite, can't wait to start now. Linz x

While I,m waiting to start the diet I have cut back on food last two days to help me really get into this new diet, I have been having two diet shakes and one homemade soup followed by small piece chicken or fish with salad, started this sun and mon on third day till consultant gets me on track. She Comes later and i'm so pleased lost 5 lb in 48 hrs. I know it's only water but can't wait till tonite to get started. Took all advice on here as well and drinking lots of water.

That's great you'll get off to a flying start!

the amount of food isn't the hard part of this diet: it's the fact that to give it the best chance you have to curb many aspects of your life. Socialising, family meals, work doos, holidays, weddings... all of these present challenges and there's no right way to deal with them - but whether you decide to stay on plan or not - there are negative consequences.

Well only started today, but your posts give me encouragement, one thing noticed have a couple of friends who I feel are going to try and sabotage my plan. They are already saying don't need to lose weight and not once said well done for trying. They are trying to get me to go out for meals and drinks, they never bothered before. Don't think they realise only made me more determined cause they are struggling to lose weight. I'm thinking not good friends to be around at the moment.
