Don't panic yes it's quite regularly heard of. The diet messes with your hormones a bit so it's been known to do funny things with periods. Before I started CD I could go 3 months without having one (just the way I was nothing to do with contraceptions) but since starting I've become more regular.

Hi Elaine, I have heard that the diet can mess up periods, but as you are on the coil etc I would get it checked with your GP as there are all sorts of reasons and don't just assume it's the diet.

    Hiya,

yeh a VLCD messes up your hormones a bit! so it's normal to have irregular/more common periods. I've been on the mini pill for years and had periods every 6 months or so, and I've had two already since being on CD.
My CDC said that if they are really close together between periods and really heavy I might have to add in a bit of food to regulate them as tehres a risk of becoming anaemic, but I think that's prob extreme cases.
    Hope that helps a bit.

    xx

I lost the same amount in my first week. Best thing to do is not compare your own weight losses with other peoples (I did this at first) as everyone is different and this includes your first week. 7lbs in a week is still a massive loss, be proud of it! I don't know if the period would have anything to do with it but does it matter...7lbs in a week well done you girlie!!!:talk017:
