Its the valentines weekend.....

Sorry to be a baahumbug, but I think its all a load of commercial c***!!! My DH & I love each everyday & dont need a 'special' day to know how much we love each other........sorry its not meant to be offensive to anyone!!! But saying that, we're going to a Valentine's Ball tonight (DH is military) & they always throw a good party, so have been very good with my Syn intake this week to have a few V 'n' T's & buffet.

we don't send cards or pressies (but pleased to say that we have been together for 36 years !)

I am doing a 'family', as son and daugher will be here for it - meal of spicey prawns - done in frylight & garlic and chilli on lettuce - a little nat yog with chilli mixed in.

Steak & Salad and just a few SW chips.

& going to get some Weight Watchers frozen desserts - will look online to see what syns they are.

AND I will get some little heart shaped choccies for sprinkling on the table - will try not to eat too many as I want a good weight loss this week. FINGERS CROSSED.

Ah it's nice for the young people though who haven't been together long or just fancy someone and they get together because of valentines day.

Enjoy your VALENTINES ball.

I agree with your statement, just dont like the way the retail industry ram it down your throat & charge extortionate prices

Awww I love valentines. Of course me and my husband love eachother daily, but I do enjoy surprising eachother and going the extra mile :0) that's just me tho, any occasion I make the most of otherwise my life would get pretty boring xx

I agree!!!! even when me and dh first met, 13 years ago I said no way!!! but then his b-day is the 17th Feb:D!

Enjoy your ball:) my dh is military too, I love getting all glammed up, feels better slimmer lol!

For the past couple of years we've bought a good bottle of wine to share rather than buy cards. It annoys me that flowers double in price, restaurants do expensive set meals etc... would rather have flowers a few times during the year (although its been a while - pull your finger out Mr mongoosed!)

I think Valentines is nice because sometimes with kids, work, bills, uni, etc etc you can forget that actually theres a reason that you're together. It is comercialised but only as much as you want to buy into it :). We don't buy expensive presents for each other but make sure the kids are upstairs an hour early, we have a film and some wine and to us that's brilliant :)

Had a great time on Saturday & didn't get to bed til 05.00!!!!!!! Typical, as we are always the last to leave & have spent Valentines Day working for 16 hours!!!

We had a lovely meal tonight - Rob made prawns and tomato in homemade sauce of light Mayo, ketchup and Worcester sauce followed by roast lamb with mashed sweet potato and spinach. I used syns for a slice of chocolate meringue roulades (first real dessert since starting SW and didn't enjoy that much) and 2 glasses of bubbly. We got each other a card and a small gift each and it was a lovely evening.

We love each other every day but sometimes everyday life gets in the way so it was nice to have a relaxed evening with a few treats and enjoy each others company.

Happy V day to you all.

Just back from my valentines meal, I had scallops, steak, panacotta and 2 mojitos..I will no doubt have a huge gain at my next weigh in but I really enjoyed every mouthful and the company of mt OH as we only go out once in a blue moon, so it really was worth it, to morrow is another day and I will be right back on plan.

I doubt that will result in a huge gain! One meal isn't going to add 5 lbs. Food should be enjoyed. If u eat well 90-95% of the time one day wont ruin it. Hope u had a gorgeous time!
