I'm not being funny, but it sounds like you are talking about a child, not an adult- eg his tantrums, and having to 'hide' veg by chopping it up! A man at the group I attend has no idea how the plan works, because his wife plans and cooks every meal, and when asked by the C about healthy extras, syns etc doesn't even know what they are. She prepares his packed lunches for work, and chooses his meals at restaurants etc It's embarrassing!
I'm glad your OH is agreeing to follow the plan, but maybe you should step back and take on the supportive role of wife, and not the nurturing role of mother. I don't mean to sound negative and critical, but I think for him to be successful in the long term, he needs to take control and not have to rely on you to work the plan out for him.

Wow harsh or what? X

I shouldn't have to explain myself but.... I do all the cooking and shopping and such cause I stay home and Hubbie works 7days a week to keep our head above water financially I'm not being his mom I'm trying to be the best wife I can be. He's aware of the cooking side of things he makes the best slimming world burgers wedges and cottage pie! If I'm poorly which I can't be (we can't afford him to be of work) he does step up to the plate syn wise I've been with slimming world since nov and still don't know syns past sausages and chocolate. So he can use the app?? X

I know sorry I'm very protective it's just us two and our baby in England we stick together something fierce.
He's asked lots of questions re healthy extra and syns I just said to do it like I do check the app before eating :)
He's good with the cooking fry light and he started having 1/3 of fruit veg whatever a couple months ago.
He needs to stop snacking on junk more on fruit etc which he will have to do himself x

HI there.
When I started SW I tried to tell my wife how & what to cook so she told me "If you don't like the way I cook, do it yourself" so I started to cook and try experimental recipes, (just follow the link below)I only buy food that we need not "extras" such as biscuits, ice cream, sweets etc.
As other have said, make meals that veg can be put in but not obvious, try my instant mash "pizza's" the only syns are in the toppings and that depends what you put in them....

My advice is do red and green days for him. U get 2 healthy extra A and B and u don't have to eat a third free. Obviously its encouraged but I didn't when I started over 10 years ago.

On either of these days I would suggest u have one of the B choices from other plan.

Eg, Sunday roast - lots of meat, small amount of potato and veg (ones he likes but not peas, sweetcorn or parsnips) for red day. The potato would be heb & measured amount.
On green day as much potato, parsnips and peas etc but measured amount of meat.

Fish (measured amount), slimming world chips, peas or beans on green day.

Steak and chips (measured potato) on red day. For extra easy you need the veg but he might like mushrooms and tomatoes so thought would mention it.

Cooked breakfast (anytime really) - red day, Bacon, sausage - check syns, egg fried in fry light, and tinned toms and mushrooms if likes them. If ur using healthy extra can use bread or make SW chips. I do this as extra easy and add loads toms and mushrooms. On green day, remove bacon and have veggie sausages (syns). Def have chips and have beans.

Other ideas chips, egg, beans (all free on green). Bachelors Pasta n sauce (think most ate free), bachelors savory rice (most are free)

I have 2 slices of the cheap medium sliced wholemeal bread (currently 60p) from Morrisons. It's a large loaf and weight wise its 62g so I class as a healthy extra. Also coop wholemeal pitta is heB. On a red/ green day u get 2 healthy extra b wo if u weren't using in pots, meat etc in meal later u could have 4 of those slices as 2 sandwiches for work.

My husband said.if.he was hungry he would need.to eat so better to be filled up on extra sarnie than something from.vending machine. Also take fruit, free style yoghurt and multipack bag of crisps (syns, wotsits are 5 syns)

I used to take to work large pasta dishes (tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, sweetcorn etc) as a green day free lunch. Currently I make on extra easy pasta and teaspoon pesto (green one and has syns), broccoli, tuna - really nice.

Burger, chips and salad. Can have cheese as heB. Is there any salad likes? Pickled onions are free, grated carrot and cabbage to make coleslaw with extra light mayo (free).

Also when we started we only had 10 syns. My husband went from 16 to 12.5 stone and he always had 2 pitta at lunch so 2heb as well as what we had on evening. As heB are 6 syns really he was having 16 syns a day so pretty normal.

If he likes prawns what does he have them with. Prawns wouldn't fill me up on their own. Stir fried with veg.and a.blue dragon stir fry sachet (abt 4 syns a.portion) makes it very Chinese like and served with noodles or rice for green day (u get loads of prawns as a.measured.amount heB) it extra easy if ur adding veg

Tomato based curries work well on extra easy but u need things in like onions, mushrooms and peppers (toms are also superfree) and u can have rice. Unfortunately rice isn't a heB on.a red day.

Hi he likes all fruit only ones he not Fussed with is mango but eat all others
Veg tomato broccoli carrots corn peppers he's still deciding on courgettes lol mushrooms he's highly allergic to send him into shock and he could die.
X

He did he was on earlies today so had 2 bananas and orange for breakfast
Lunch he had tuna pasta with peppers and corn
Dinner smash pizza with butternut and potato chips.
Most of the food he did off his own back :) x

I think he's determined some is my nagging :) but mainly cause he needed crutches cause his leg Hurt so bad.
Thank I like to try all sorts and not get too bored with food some meals I won't be trying again but then again you don't know till you try hey? X

hi... that looks amazing. How many syns is the wrap? Or can it be an HEXB?? x

i'm making smash pizza tomorrow, was looking round but wasn't sure, would a full pack of smash pizza make a large pizza??

Ok so my darling beatiful husband needs to lose weight he went to the doctor with pains in his leg and was told quite frankly to lose weight and take up swimming as it is sciatica (spelling??)
Thing is he has been eating some sw meals as I refuse to cook 3 different meals and to be honest he enjoys them just he works shifts and doesn't get to eat with me all the time... Bread is an issue when I told him in the store he needed 400g brown loaf he looked at me as if I'd just killed his best mate and then proceeded to whine about how he was jst going to starve!! Ugh so dramatic lol. I gave him my old s w book to have a read and he didn't even bother so I'm starting to get a little ticked off I am by no means perfect (raid the biscuit and chocolate more often than is necessary!!) but my health wasn't an issue!!
He is currently 15 stones 1 according to home scales. And is 5 feet10 so not sure what is ideal weight but I think 2 stones will be a great start!!
Main drama is he's so anti veg. Honestly he drives me nuts!! Fruit he loves but veggies he melts down if he sees a chopped onion lol. He does eat some like peppers tomato butternut carrots broccoli.
I know he should want it for himself but he's playing up and I so wear the pants and am bossy enough to kick him up bum lol so just couple of suggestions really please!!
Sorry to waffle on so much :) x

I have a similar prob with my hubby but have given up with him to be honest. He is also 5' 10" tall and weighs well he says 15st 6lbs but I think its a lot more than that. He is OK everywhere but his tum! He is diabetic and is on statins and blood pressure tabs. He once did s w with me a long time ago and lost quite a lot but like me put it back on. This time round I have got to target and kept it off for nearly 12 months or more but he just wont entertain it. He did do it for a little while but didnt read the books and I tried to explain syns, hes etc but I could see he just wasnt interested despite him seeing how different I look! He will go across to Asda and get a pre packed sandwich, yes we do have bread in! If we go to the pub he has a few wines with cheesy garlic bread or nuts! I am happy to have a diet coke!!!! So I have given up, yes he does have some s w meals and he does enjoy them, but he will then eat a lot of rubbish in between and not make good choices. I try to tell him to have extra light mayo, he has the light, he has loads of coleslaw (work of the devil I think yuck) and piles it onto his salad instead of measuring it with a spoon. He has to want to do it, and he doesnt so there is nothing I can do. So worried about him really. I know if the doc told him bluntly you must lose weight he would do it, but they just seem to pussyfoot around the issue. He does go the gym though because they have told him he has got to exercise.
