Jenni's diary: Given up chocolate!

I think I'll have a look into affirmation - you know, all of the looking into the mirror and telling myself that I CAN do something, etc.

Need some positive thoughts in my head at the moment :)

What was it about getting to 9st that made you so motivated? Is that goal still relevant to you? Are you bothered about not being where you want to be?

It was being technically obese which started it, and then seeing the weight drop off with Cambridge so quickly, and finally feeling like I could do it. It's all in my head, I know
As I said somewhere else, I want to be 9st 5 really. 9st 5 is easy. :)
At the moment I'm 10st 4, which is another of my 'maintaining weights', so I have a week or so to get my head around this before I start gaining again.

It does bother me that I'm 10st 4, it bothers me than I'm not 9st 5. I just need to start off the positive thoughts, because positive breeds positive, and negative breeds negative - hence why I've slowly started feeling worse over the past month or two.

Think I need to get my head in the right place before I try to lose weight. :)
Just emptied out my bin, absolutely full to the brim of sweet/chocolate wrappers.

Going to have a look at affirmation :)

xx

Well, I haven't had a look at affirmation yet. :p

Decided I'm going to do the London 10km run, for an OCD charity :) though I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, lol.
Never ran anywhere in my life ;)

So we shall see how it goes.

Sponsor me here - but don't feel obliged, honestly. :)
I'd just like to raise some money for a charity which has encouraged me to finally get some treatment for my OCD. :)

(Spot the irony - my OCD affects my walking, so not only do I have to overcome my lack of fitness, I also have to deal with my OCD )

Going to write 5 positive things here every day (or every other day) to cheer myself up, instead of affirmations. :)

1. I decided to do the British 10k for OCD-UK.
2. I dragged myself to cadets and was presented with my first aid badge. :)
3. I helped my dad with some garden stuff, so he was happy with me.
4. I found out that the Hoxton hotel has a £1 sale on tomorrow.
5. I went out for lunch with some friends.

This is 100% stolen, but hey ho :p

Love the affirmations, great idea to list them. Hope you start to feel motivated again soon :O)

WOOHOO I have got an offer from Imperial :D:D:D:D:D I'm soo happy, I've been waiting for this for months lol :)

On the down side, I didn't manage to get a cheap hotel room at the Hoxton for the 10k, but I'll have a look elsewhere :)

Imperial that is amazing news. You will have such a good time there. It was one of my fav unis all those years ago when Adam was a lad when I went to uni.

You are trying so hard to get back on track I'm willing you all the way. I'm upstairs at the mo but when I next have my credit card to hand I'll pop over and sponsor you no problem.

Yay, thankyou M :)

I got my joining pack today and apparently they expect me to raise £250

Probably going to need everyone's support on here to train and stuff, how scary is a 10km run
Lucky for me I have the Humber Bridge about a 20min walk away, so I can train on there :)

Have to get myself some decent running shoes

My advice was going to be about shoes.

Get yourself off to Up and Running or another specialist running shop with the treadmill technology and they will fit you with the right shoes.

Up and Running - running shops, running shoes, running clothing, running accessories

I know you are Yorkshire way and there are some in Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate etc but not sure over your way.

There are loads of resources on the web to get you to a 10k run from scratch.

I will also definitely sponsor you - its a great thing for you to do.

Brilliant news on getting your offer from Imperial. What do you need for there?

Thanks Rosie - they're a little bit far for me, but I know there's one in Hull city centre which has the whole gait analysis thing (can you tell I have no idea what that means? :p)
I think I have normal feet, so should have a good range of shoes to choose from :D

For Imperial, I need AAA, with an A in every maths/further maths module that I do.
I'm more worried about getting an A in Physics really

My positive things for today:

1. I got an offer from Imperial :D
2. I did some research for the 10k
3. I had a small walk - just a little one, but something I wouldn't have normally done.
4. I made Jon smile a few times :)
5. I actually haven't eaten too much today :)

Hi !

Don't think I've posted on your diary before. But I just wanted to say Congrats on signing up for the 10k run - very brave - when is it??

Just remembered I haven't posted here in a while :)

Positive things:

1. I have running shoes :)
2. I managed to talk about the 'incident' - which was the purpose of counselling, really, so I'm only having one more session instead of 2.
3. I finally managed to do my little challenge for my OCD group.
4. I'm going for a jog in a minute.
5. I STSed this week :)

The 10km is 12th July. :)

xx

fabulous - loads of positives for today then....it really helps focus the mind on what you want rather than what you don't want.

All those A's - you little brainbox. xx

Woohoo!
I actually managed to get off my bum and go for a jog - 2.5km in 20 mins, so not too bad for a first time :)

I know you're not supposed to exercise while you have a cold, but I actually feel much better for it :)

Hehe, yeah that sounds about right for me too :p

Going away tomorrow for a week with cadets, shall be back next Wednesday.
Going to try and be fairly active throughout the week.

I shall have an update on my weight on Thursday morning (eek) ;)

xx

Oh, I meant tomorrow :p

OK, so my week away wasn't too bad food-wise. Ate a few puddings, but then I earnt a few puddings too ;)

Been quite active, we did sport practically every other day and drill every day so I reckon I've improved my fitness a bit. I shall go out for a run tomorrow and find out :)

xx
