After lots of deliberation, I have decided to join the gym when I get paid next week. I live next door to a hotel which has a gym/pool and you don't have to sign up to a long contract either. The only problem is, I have NEVER exercised before. The thought of all of this gym equipment terrifies me. I know I'll get an induction etc, but I don't know where I should start.
I am quite unfit. I can walk decent distances at a fast pace and I'd like to start running as I know I'll feel so much better for it.
What are the best sort of machines to use and for how long? Should I try and go every day or 3 times a week? I wouldn't mind going swimming but I have a bit of a phobia of water so I'm not a great swimmer.
Has anyone else been in this situation and managed to get in to a good routine? I'd love to be able to afford some PT sessions but its not going to happen
