JUDDD - Introduce Yourself!!

we will give eachother some challenges night night sam catch you tomoz

Hi All, I'm Claire from sunny Southend, Essex (I'm afraid I don't look like those girls from TOWIE !!) I've been on here before when was following the Unit diet and this is where I first heard about JUDDD , I thought I'd give it a go as I found I was getting bored . Well , anyway yesterday was my first DD and I was surprised at how easy it was.. Ok easier than expected, I managed to stick to 515 cals which I think is ok, I didn't bother with breakfast as I feel it just starts my eating off for the day ,lunch was WW soup & roll and I sat sipping my SF shake while the family had dinner, I made sure I cooked my least fave meal to make things easier on me . This morning my DH congratulated me on surviving the day and offered me a jammy dodger with my cuppa , the funny thing was, I didn't eat it , I'm waiting for the kids to go to school so I can sit and enjoy a peaceful breakfast... alone . I know this is a bit long for an introduction, so my apologies for rambling, I'm now going to search out a more appropriate thread , feel free to point me in the right direction !!!

Hi madhouse. Welcome along. There are a few of us doing this diet.
I had a week off last week as we had to eat out most nights.. Fun but if your not on an up day it's a pain in the bum :)
Personaly I found the first week or so the toughest. Now though I don't even fell hungry til later in the morning. I'm an early riser and would normaly have breakfast by 7/7.30, these days I can go til 10.30 or later... Very helpful on a DD.
Your cals were fine, it dosn't matter if you go slightly over, also remember if you do any exercise you can add the cals you burn to your daily total :D.
Good luck with the diet and if your not sure of anything one of us may be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks, I'm going to keep a food diary today to make sure I don't go too mad just cos' I can ,which I normally would do !! good luck yourself and I'll holler if I have any questions

I'm with you on the food diary.. I've been very good with it on DD but I need to keep it on UD as well.. I have a very sweet tooth and if I'm not careful I see UD's as an excuse to eat choccies all day!!

Hello ,

My name is Mark and I am new to this board. Hope this thread helps me stay focused on Juddd.
I like the idea on this diet, becuase it does not feel so much like a diet and you can work your week around it.
For me, I hope to eat like three small meals on my DDs or two instead of waiting all day and the having all 500 cals at the end of the day.

Hi Mark and welcome to the JUDDD group :)

Hello!.......

Hi everyone. I've been on every diet under the sun I'm affraid but still fail  My latest venture was Lipotrim!!! Oh my word.....lasted 10 days (13lbs lost) but just unsustainable for me :sigh: Hats off to all the guys & gals that have stuck to it though
Anyway, tried JUDDD about 18 months ago & have decided to go on that again. Have gained 7lbs of those lipotrim lbs I lost but not as bad I suppose as it could have been  Started Tuesday (on a dd) this week (14th June) so due for 1st weigh in on 23rd. Will be popping back now & then to see how you are all doing :D Jackie xx

Hi everyone, I'm a returnee. I haven't been on this site (or on JUDDD) for quite some time and I can't remember my old username. I'm ready to recommit to the alternate day diet and lose weight! I have about 60 lbs to lose. I'm a single 26 year old professional. I'm trying to break my habit of stress binging and lead a healthier lifestyle. Anything else you want to know, just ask. :) I look forward to getting to know everyone - unfortunately I didn't stick around long enough the first time for that to happen.

Hi my name is Jo and have been on most diets out there
I lost quite a bit of weight last year but have of course regained it all. I have known about Juddd for sometime now and to me it 'might' be the answer. I did a TFR diet last year but couldn't sustain it for long periods as I love my food too much, CC you are constantly rebuffing yourself for having something you shouldn't and restricting certain typers of food etc etc. To me this seems to solve those problems as I can do a day of less than 500 cals no problem, on my up days I am going to eat sensibly but without worrying too much, so there will be no forbidden foods or just single food groups etc. It sounds so simple but hey we shall see, this forum seems to be lacking in members and longtermers so maybe I will be proved wrong?
I have just started a diary which I find helps me loads, wish me luck ;)

Hi Canadian and bajoleth :)

Canadian, how are you getting on?

Bajoleth, I'm about to start Exante (TFR), like you I've lost and gained :( For some reason, this forum has always been either having lots of people having a go at the same time, or nobody doing it lol JUDDD is good, and does work as long as you stick to it, I lost about a stone in around 3 weeks but that was a combination of JUDDD and a lot of walking every day. Then when I fell off the wagon I never got back on, and am now heavier than I was when I started JUDDD in the first place, and am so sick of thinking about food constantly every single day, which is where TFR comes into it, as this will give me a complete break from food altogether and hopefully give me the chance to reset my relationship with food.

Best of luck to both of you! May I suggest that you break up your down day calories into several snacks a day as this is a bit more doable than waiting a whole day to have something larger to eat, this helped me through my down days :) You might also benefit from upping the max calories to 600 or 700, although its higher than the standard 500, those extra 1 or 200 cals really do make a difference to make things more manageable, and still total low enough for you to lose weight x

Thanks, and good luck with the Exante , they do give excellent losses quickly, which was why I tried one out last year, I will probably do a week or 2 on one now and again to boost my losses. As I have done TFR before I will be able to cope on the down days as I find it relatively easy to eat very few cals though I do think that the shakes help as though they are only 150 cals they are designed to keep you feeling full so def a bonus.
Heres hoping we all suceed on our chosen diets :)

I think I'm at the stage now where I just want all my fat gone, and losing 1 or 2lbs a week would - and does - drive me mad and would feel like I'm on a diet forever as I need to lose 110lbs to get to target, so I need decent quick(ish) losses to get to a weight that I can maintain when I come off Exante. What did you think of the shakes and soups? I've read a lot of different opinions, which vary from 'I love them' to 'they make me gag' :jelous:

You're right about the down days, if you've done TFR then doing a down day shouldn't be too hard. When I did JUDDD, on down days I think my body thought 'seriously, that's all you're going to feed me?' which probably explains why I didn't last long lol

If this forum ever goes quiet and you find yourself struggling or anything, feel free to send me a message or something

I hope JUDDD works for you :)

I liked the shakes (esp vanilla and chocolate) but couldn't really stomach the soups but everyone seems to have a different opinion. I had 2 weddings last summer so after dieting since the Jan and losing like you said 1 or 2lbs a week I got frustrated so thats why I did the TFR, and as I said they really work and fast , I dropped a stone in 2 weeks, you don't feel hungry as such as the 'food' is satisfying but you really miss eating and socialising is really hard, you may find that you can last a few weeks and have lost a bulk which will set you up nicely to carry on with something like Juddd or you may find that once you get into the routine of not 'eating' you may fly along. It is a great feeling going to bed knowing that you have another TFR day under your belt ;)
Good luck

My packs have just arrived so I'm debating what to have first lol Wow a stone in 2 weeks, thats incredible :) I can imagine myself missing eating, the texture of actual food and being able to bite into something other than the bars, but no doubt it will be worth it. It's funny you should say about losing the bulk and then switching to something else, that's been my plan for a while hehe! I'm currently 16st 12lbs, after putting on the 8lbs I lost before Christmas the 1-2lbs per week way, which makes it even more frustrating that I've put it all back on since it took me weeks to lose! I'm going to have an early night tonight as I'm working a 12hr shift tomorrow, so that takes care of Days 1 and 2, then on Days 3 and 4 I've got uni stuff to do, after that I should be over the worst - I hope lol

Have you started JUDDD or still in the planning stage? x

I started on Mon so early days but going well so far, I have started a diary as I find it really helps me, I noticed you were doing a diary too so will watch how you get on :)

I never kept a diary when I was doing JUDDD, I did write on my blog on here a few times though, which helped, now I'm doing the full-blown diary thing and I think it does definitely help, gives you a chance to rant and moan if you need to, it's a good outlet :) Yes feel free to read mine, I might have a nosey at yours if that's ok and it's on here? Or is it a proper real paper diary x
