July Starters!~! Time to rock and roll!!

Yay! Another Julyian. :D Welcome Dale!! Well, thats the worst part of this diet over - weighing for the first time. :D Its all down hill from here!!

Hard to believe that we are/will be actually looking forward to stepping on a scale!!! :D

Looks like we all have about the same sort of amount to lose , 4 -5 stone...so thats pretty cool - we'll all be starting RTM at the same time too!!! :)

Good luck everyone - you can rock this thing!!!!

xx

Cool Boris!!! Try it~!:D We will all be known as the July-loons-who-talk-to-their-reflection in this thread!!! :giggle:

You know what you guys should look out for too.... If you are anything like I was when i was my heaviest - looking back from the mirror was a very sad, lonely, unhappy person I did not recognise. It was not "me", ya know? Me, as I remembered ME - before all of life's hard knocks got me beaten down.

Well - after seeing that sad reflection for so very many years - it was a GREAT day on my LL path when I looked in the reflection, and all of a sudden - I saw.... ME. Again. I caught a glimpse of me in there - in that reflection - the authentic me. It was am amazing day I will never ever forget the feeling - it was intense.

It was like finding a long lost friend.

It took awhile, well in to the diet and after a lot of soul searching and learning - but it was so worth it!!!! :_)

So much good stuff ahead for you guys!!! And for me too!

Go US!!!!! :D

We knew what you meant Boris! Us Julyans are obviously in sync :) I had two emails from my counsellor today preparing me for next week. Really made me think about why I am doing this! BL-what a star! Lots of great advice x

:girlpower::party0011::party0011::greenapple: :D

Thanks for the nice comments guys - and gals - makes me giggle because I have felt so utterly de-motivated this year. But when I fond my good head-space, and get involved with this diet, Ijust feel on top of the world. If I can help motivate anyone even if only a little - then hey! I'm a happy girl!! :D

And you all rock too!!!!:pillowfight::party0049:

I got my practice nurse to sign mine! They had heard about the diet were really curious and really behind me! I think they were more in touch with my issues than a doctor-I rarely see mine but see the nurses regularly! Also tip for blood pressure checks some pharmacies do them on a drop in basis. I'm sure your doctor will recognise the benefits of you say how unhappy you've been. Imagine all the potential future savings for the health service and their practice if you lose weight!!! Win win is what you tell them xx

Thanks everyone - great to be part of a group with such excellent timing. Will be keeping my eye on you all. :flirt2: xx

Hey BL, going to Baltimore, Washington and New York - partly a study trip at the end of my MBA visiting Johns Hopkins University & Hospital and some other big institutions (Baltimore and Washington) and partly R&R with some fellow students (New York). Can't wait but would really like to be fitter and yes thinner for it. :fingerscrossed:

Noo, too lazy for medicine. Just Business Administration although I specialise in healthcare - have worked in the sector for a while now. Having said that an MBA is not for the lazy (probably a little late for me to find that out as I am finishing in September) but its been a wild ride!

I seem to remember you are from the good old U S of A - whereabouts exactly? Can you give me any tips on fun stuff to do in Baltimore or Washington?? (or places to avoid....) ;)

Hey Dale America sounds like a great goal to aim for. Sounds like you will have lots of fun! New York is fab. I'm sure you'll work hard and look amazing for the trip. Good luck! :)

If I cut out carbs before I start LL will it mean a smaller loss in my week 1 WI? As I may have lost the water beforehand? I was just thinking about this but want to double check so that I know what to expect.

Thanks xx

It might have a very small effect - shouldnt be drastic. But more importantly it will help with the headaches of withdrawal, and even more importantly, with the cravings which for some can be very strong and stressful whilst waiting for ketosis.

Worth the diffierence in week one total loss I think.

:)

I am from California. I have been to Baltimore and DC but it has been years and years, so would not know what to reccomend other then all the wonderful momunments and museums in DC. Arlington Cemetery is pretty cool too.

Have fun when you go ! How long will you be there?

x

Thanks anyway hun, there are about 20 of us going and we usually have a great time when we get together socially so I am sure we will find something fun to do. Will be there for 11 days - last 4 in NY. Woohoo! Would be great to have put a dent in the weight loss by then, but at the moment I am not doing too well. Tsk tsk.

Week One Weigh-In

Whooop!!! Whoop!!!!

Well, week one done, and that is 9.5 lbs I have seen the back side of!!!!

Happy with that - who wouldnt be! I love Week One!!! :bliss:

Great group again tonight....these ladies are all nice, and open, and on pretty much the same wavelength it seems. Early days, I know, but I get a good vibe about all of them!

Great discussion about CBT, and one statement has stuck in my mind which is good to know and to remember:

Feelings affect your thoughts - your thoughts affect your behaviour - so remember it is not what you think that makes you overweight, but what you feel. It all starts with our feelings.

Eating is just a way to change the way we are feeling. But it doesn't change the cause of those feelings.....

Happy days! Week one done - only 19 more to go!!!! :)

xx
