Karenlou's diary - Hello, I'm home!

fingers crossed for tomorrow for you.
I know some years ago when MrB was in plaster (dont ask) i used to have to open any tins etc for him before i went to work , think he felt like a right baby so can understand how you feel

aww i hope your arm is better soon Karen - glad widgy house is going well, and thank you for your text today.. i realised after how difficult it must have been to text it! xxx

You're posting like a good 'un on other people's diaries and neglecting you own....

hope things are all as good as they can be with you.

Why do we always have to damage our "good" hands/arms etc. its not fair!

Keep your chin up xx

hope your arms a bit better.. must be if you're managing to post a bit more.. hows the WW going? xxx

Hello all - thanks for resurrecting my diary.

I'm back at work but wrist still very painful and I've been having problems with my other hand; probably down to overusing it with my right hand being out of action. I'm going to see if the doc can prescribe something or refer me to the orthopods.

Diet-wise, well the thread title says it all. Here in body but not in spirit. Although I have chucked out all clothes that don't fit and bought some new ones in the right size rather than keep telling myself I won't buy new clothes because they might not fit for long. I had started to feel frumpy.

I do want to get back on track though. I'm going to aim to maintain and be happy if I lose for now and see if my mojo returns. Maybe Sandy can lend me some spare click ;)

Edited to add: on the plus side, Keith, Muffin and I are taking advantage of the nice weather to do lots of long walks along the riverside :)

Hi guys, just a quick post before I go to work...

After a lot of soul-searching I have decided to give Slimming World a try. I've been faffing about since the wedding and haven't lost the honeymoon weight and I can't seem to get back on track.

I have a friend who goes to SW classes so I'm going to go with her starting a week on Monday.

If it's ok with Sandy and Irene, I'd like to keep this diary in here, like Lydia does, to post my progress - that way I know I'll be staying in touch with my friends on this bit of the board.

I've started a SW diary in that section too, where I can wibble about SW stuff ;)

Thanks for all your support so far and hope to be back on track now!!!

K xx

Good luck Karen, maybe we can be diet buddies?

hey karen, totally understand, sometimes you just need a change to shake things up!! good luck and deffo keep your diary here, we anna know how you're doing

Good luck with SW... must keep us updated. x

Thanks y'all - I will stay in touch :)

On a positive note, I got weighed this morning and had lost 2.5 just by being careful without following any planned diet so hoping this is the start of some more weight loss - onwards and downwards.

good luck with SW :) am sure you will love it as their EE plan is very similar to Core :) xxx

Good luck on SW :)
I have to say, if I ever tried a different diet I'd want to keep my diary on here :)
You'll have to tell me all about it, I've never understood SW

xx

hi again. well i'm back after (feels like a very) long absence.

haven't been sticking to any diet and have regained a stone, which is disappointing. i'm trying intuitive eating at the moment - you use a satiety scale to determine hunger levels. that, combined with the fact that i've gone from vegetarian to mostly vegan, has meant i have lost 4lbs in a week and a half, which i'm happy about and we'll see how i get on.

on a personal note, married life is still lovely - keith is having a lie-in as i type this; he's all snuggled up to me so i'm trying to type one-handed so i don't wake him. josh has got a job in brighton, assistant manager of a night club. he starts on monday (my baby is leaving home!). widgy house is still a work in progress so is kitchen-less at the moment but we're not moving in till October as we're on the boat at the moment so not a big problem.

On a less happy note, I'm having lots of problems with both my hands now and waiting for results of tests. Apparently I have "thin arm syndrome" so at least one part of my body is officially recorded on my medical notes as being thin! I have pins and needles in my hands all the time now and can't lift or grip very well. I'm hoping the doc will refer me to a specialist hand centre in Derby but at the moment he's taking the tack that nothing can be done so learn to live with it. One of the nurses at work has told me to ask for a second opinion.

Anyway, good to be back and I'll keep you posted with my progress - it really is time I got my backside back into gear as I've faffed about, weight-loss wise, since the wedding and I have a friend's wedding in six weeks and nothing nice to wear!
