Kelly's 1st pregnancy diary

Hi, keeping my fingers crossed for today, hoping our little girl can be fully seen so that they can check her out. 3rd time lucky I hope. I'm going to have chocolate for breakfast just to get her moving! Oh the joys of pregnancy sometimes!
Hope all is well.
Take care Kelly x

Well what a terrible day, they still couldn't see her heart to check her out and they have transferred us to a fetal medical unit to have a better look. They can see the heart-beating and everything else looks fine but as they can't see her heart they want to get it seen by specialists. They said it's not bad or good, it's just they tried 3 times and still can't see, soo it's just a waiting game now. But waiting is the worst bit and the earliest I can be seen is Wednesday so it will be a long few days!
Anyway I'm going to make some dinner and have an early night tonight.
Take care
Kelly

Aww that is tough but I'm sure everything is fine. Have a good rest!

I'm sure everything will be fine, little monkey must just be being awkward and doesn't want to be seen - I'm sure it doesn't mean anything's wrong. Big hugs xx

Well all seems good, they could see the heart and everything seemed normal, couldn't quite see all they wanted but due to me being big they had trouble. I am soo much happier now. They also told us it might be a boy! After we were told before it is a girl! Anyway I really just glad he/she is healthy! I suddenly feel very tired and just want to sleep. Off out for dinner with friends and then to bed!
Take care

Awwww great news! Hope u hadn't started buying all pink!

Great news Hun, have a nice evening

I am not surprised you are tired after that long emotional event, so pleased that everything is going well and you can get back to relaxing and enjoying your pregnancy :)

Hi, got a phone call from hospital again am going in for another scan with a consultant to just keep checking all is good. Why does it make you worry when they say consultant! Wasn't even aware we had to go back in. Glad we get to see bubba again though. She/ he is a little riggler, I live it when they kick, just makes me soo happy.
Take care x

It is a psoitive that you are being looked after, I would not worry about the term 'consultant' they are just more specilisted in the field of any diffciulties. And with the difficulties prior with the location of organs then at least you can have the faith someone knows what they are talking about. Glad to hear about the kicks, for me they are the best part of pregnancy and can really help when you feel poo and all emotional :)

Well hello all, had my scan today and have a lovely healthy boy in there! As we have been told both we wanted to be sure but they gave us a pic of his penis too! Lol so looks like I'll be buying blue from now on and not pink! So glad I haven't bought much! Am really happy to know everything is good and healthy. Roll on the next 13 weeks til he joins us for a cuddle! I cannot wait. X

Haha at least you know for sure now!
Glad the scan went well x

Hi, I have started making a baby list and am looking to buy some things. Suddenly now I am 28 weeks I am thinking I'm almost there and wanting to get some bits. I have been told to get myself a decent breast pump as a friend had a really bad one ( saying it really hurt and took ages to get any milk) I have seen a medela electric breast pump, here is the link, http://www.mothercare.com/Medela-Swing-Electric-Breast-Pump/dp/B000JFJJ4Y does anyone know if this is good? There's nothing better than hearing from other people and getting a real review. It seems like its all coming together quickly, another 12 weeks and our little boy should be here.
Any other ideas are gratefully received, with this being our first child we have a lot to learn.
Take care
Kelly x

I had one very similar and it was excellent, I think I had the smaller cheaper medula one. Mine did crack when I dropped it, which obviously was no fault of the pump. Your friend is right cheap ones are useless and painful

I have no idea about the one you mentioned however I just want to say steer well clear of the Tommee Tippee electric pump, it's a complete waste of money and rather embarassing when you have to return it through some young boy in Boots lol but then I'm a prude haha

Personally I'm going for Spectra 3 Electric Breast Pump it has fantastic reviews and is apparently on par with a hospital pump, and only £50! For £8 you can buy a second tube and breast shield so you can pump both breasts at once, along with lots of other optional accessories. I haven't tried it so this isn't a recommendation from me however if you read the Amazon reviews it is highly recommended by a lot of women which is why I'll be buying one :) xx

Thanks for the opinion, will have a closer look at that. I was looking at tommee tippee one because I was going to get the steriliser set for bottles with it. Can I ask what you didn't like about it?

In my opinion the Tommee Tippee one is very noisy and the clear tube that goes from the pump the the part that goes on your breast is always getting milk in it. You're told if this happens, stop using it, clean the tube and allow it to dry thoroughly before using it again which is what it spent most of the time doing. The amount of milk it got and everything was fine but the noise and constant stopping half way through cleaning that pipe and waiting for it to dry was a pain in the butt.

I'm with you on the bottles though. I can't rate them high enough, best bottles out there imo. With my second baby I had Tommee Tippee bottles steriliser and hand pump and will be using them all again happily but I wouldn't touch the electric pump with a barge pole.

That pump I linked has an attachment so you can add wide neck bottles which is what I'll be getting so I can use my TT bottles.
