Right, I have decided to do a cycling challenge to get myself motivated! I need to lose these last couple of pounds! Anyone is welcome to join me. We can all set our own goals and spur each other on. Actually, it need not be limited to cycling, it could be jogging etc...anything and our goal can be whatever works best with you (time, distance, calories etc). If you want to join please post your name, your goal for week 1 and your method of exercise. We will go from Monday to Monday.

Week 1:

That's great Rach! Glad to have you on board. I am about to do another stint whilst watching hollyoaks...I have already done 20 mins today :)

Obviously the novelty of a new bike is here :D I have done 2 x 10 minute and 1 x 25 minute workouts. Over 700 calories burned today :) I had better eat though - I have not eaten anywhere near that many yet I doubt! Does anyone know how many activity points 45 mins on a bike would work out too?

ok i know this is a rubbish challenge but i've not 'exercised' for ages, so am gonna say do some walking everyday, and i mean in addition to my everyday business!! its a start

I'll join in too. Not sure of my challenge yet, but will post it when I think up a good one.

Think calories burned might be a good place to start - as I now earn them to eat them. ;)

That is my reasoning basically rosie. I am nearly at goal but do not want to never have treats so for me exercise = treats :)

Good luck thinking of a challenge.....

well day one, i walked to asda from school then home again. not exactly far but i would normally have gone in the car!!

Well done Jane! It's a start! It all counts too ;)

I am ill today. I am not sure I am going to be able to do much tonight. I might have a really gentle cycle just so I have done something but I have horrendous cold :( ugh! I feel so rough! I will soldier on though......:D

I managed a slllooow 20 minute cycle for 225 calories. Better than nothing eh?

well you're over half way already, great stuff especially if you're feeling rough.
Not sure what i'm going to fit in tomorrow. Am going on a trip with school , then to Olivias dance performance in the evening. Still will be on my feet most of the day i guess!!

Would like to join in aswell please, I'm going to use my free step on the wii fit so I'll pledge to do 10,000 steps and 40 min jogging. Starting today! :O)

I managed another 40 minutes today :) Feeling like I have a little more energy. I burned 666 calories. I have met my target after only 3 days. I know the novelty will wear off but boy does it feel good. I like this :)

Has anyone else managed to do anything?

I was sooooo busy yesterday zipping here there and everywhere I didn't get on the wii but will do today even if I only do 20 mins. Well done on completing your weeks exercise already. Post my results later xx

Did 3447 free step this evening so made a start YAYYYY! Haven't a clue how many calories that would have burned though?
