Anyone else going to be on plan for a longer time??

I'm in my fifth week, hoping to complete 24 which takes me to end of September.

Any others gonna be hanging in for a while??

Also for those who did six months- year how did you work in things -any breaks or not??

Anyway just thought a long haul thread might be fun LOL

5 down, 19 to go!!

Xx

Hi Rebekah. I post on S&S sometimes as there are few Alizonners on here. It's a vlcd - (similar to S&S with some body treatments (fat melting and skin tightening and GP supervision).

I started in December and expect to be at goal in September. So I'll be around for a long time.

Please excuse my question - but I am wondering - if you are in a size 8 skirt - why do you have 54lbs - 3 and 3/4 stone to loose?

I have a 28kk cup and am shifting weight for breast reduction surgery on nhs. So hitting the weight target is one of the requirements

Am huge busted and carry fat on top half. So have a lot more to shift!! BMI only just out the obese category!

Keep on trucking :) Do you have a break on your plan hun??

I'm in it for the long haul Hun! Have lost 3stone so far in 7 weeks, but have another 6.5 stone to go to my target-altho I might go lower as even at that weight my bmi is still 'overweight' altho only just! I'm aiming to have another 2.5 stone off by my first break on the 3rd of August, as it's my mums 60th, and we're having a weekend away! Then will get back on it after the weekend-lose any weight I gain-and crack on. If I can lose what I'm hoping in the next 9 weeks, then I'll only have 4 stone to go-which I'd like to have gone by Christmas :) which is a further 20 weeks, therefore it's hopefully doable!
Obviously the more I can lose this side of my break, the better, as we're also hoping to go to Egypt at the start of october :)

I have been on LL and SnS for 10 months now and have lost 9 stone 3 lbs. I have not taken any breaks. I have done it the LL way (which is to have extra mlk for a week after the 12th week). This means that I have been able to stay on track and not re-introduce food which I will have difficulty with dropping again afterwards. Everyone is different though and there are a number of people on here you manage breaks successfully.

Im coming to the end of my 2nd week and im here for the long haul. I have about 6 stone to lose. Xxx

I started in August last year and have lost a fraction under 6 stone. I took breaks that fitted in with my holidays and traditional holiday times such as Xmas and Easter. Personally I found it easier to break the journey down into smaller chunks, as I could focus on an end point. For the first 6 months I found it pretty easy just to take a break and then get back on track afterwards but with a stone to go I 'stepped up' to 800 calories and now I want to take a break more and more and I absolutely know that I wouldn't be able to remove the food and go back to packs only now. I think that's due to a combination of having been on the diet a long time, and feeling so much better having lost the 6 stone that the last one doesn't seem so important. I've kind of lost the urgency to lose the other bit and although I'm still trying to stay in ketosis and using some of the packs I'm doing my own thing just now.

I know that I could have got to goal a long time ago if I'd just stayed 100% but truth is I just couldn't. The more I introduce food the harder it is for me to cut it out. It's fine though as even if I never shifted the last stone I'm really not going to stress about it.

Good luck! I'm thinking of having a breast reduction too. Just haven't decided for sure yet. Oh to be a small cup size :).

You have done amazing . I'm hoping can get where I want to be weight wise before I see consultant about boobs

Know will end up lookin odd with tiny bottom half but hopefully be no more than 9 month wait for op! A 28dd be dreamy!!

I am going to do this for as long as it takes. Have a planned break for holiday in a month's time but I'm straight back on it when I get back. TBH I'm loving how quickly the weight is flying off me. Hopefully it won't take that long to get to goal!

Ive been around almost four months, and probably have another 3-4 to go.

So far i havent had any breaks, Ive had times where ive had more than I should in terms of protein and such, but no official breaks. I've been wondering if i should as my weightloss has really stalled over the last month, but i don't know if id be able to start back again.

I just completed week 10 on S&S and I am also in it for the long haul too. I started with about 5st 2lb to lose, although I have a feeling that once I get close to that I'll want to lose another 7lb so making total loss about 5st 9lb. When I started S&S I originally calculated being on S&S until September time but because I lose slower than I had hoped I think I'll be on it for quite a bit longer than that. Also I keep thinking about changing to a different plan (not VLCD) when I only have another 2 stone to lose and get the last 2 stone off that way, but not sure yet. Either way, I am going to be doing S&S for at least another 3 months! xx

Your doing amazing hunny :)

I am so unsure about taking a break, be on hols around the twelve week mark. Taking packs, either add extra protein or milk that week. Will be walking everywhere that week, lost 7lb last year whilst away as we were so active!

Don't want to totally come off plan as am feeling good currently.

Onwards and downwards!

Thanks for explaining, Rebekah. Good luck.

And what an amazing bunch all these lovely posters are - those with great success and those starting out. Congratulations everyone - for taking action.

I know when I started I didn't really believe it would work for me or I would be able to do it. I had met several successul Alizonner (a guy who lost 7 stone and a woman who'd lost 5 stone). I couldn't believe they'd been fat as they looked as though they had been slim all their lives. I just followed the programme - choosing to do it one day and sometimes one sachet at a time. That way I've managed not to feel deprived or punished. In December, it seemed insurmountable. So I acted as if I knew it would work and just chose to do it day by day. I am amazed to be more than 6 1/2stone lighter in under 6 months.

On Alizonne, we are supervised by a specialist GP and have blood tests - so the programme isn't constrained legally by having breaks. They check the bloods to see potassium etc is Ok and also that the liver and kidneys are coping with the weight loss. I am doing it this way beacuse my DH lost his first wife to cancer and was really concerned that everything is medically OK.

I had Phase 2 meals (ie limited low fat real protein - fish in my case) at my stepdaughter's wedding a couple of weeks ago. I have found it hard getting back - esecially as I am just a few lbs from moving to Phase 2 suppers. Weight loss can slows a bit - but I feel it must be good to get the metabolism going again. Some people even loose faster especially if they have slowed.

I think you choose your approach. Weasey's way - loosing a lot, using milk then going onto a protein meal is great. It teachs us to control portion size over a longer period of time. BordersGirl's approach is also great for people who can move from naked sachets to a break and back again. So you can choose what works for you & your body.

Take care and enjoy the shrinking.

Btw, if you have tummy weight, it might be worth looking at the ultrasound treatments Deezer had. Ultrasound really does vibrate empty the fat cells. sady it doesn't get rid of the cells themselves - which just lurk there waiting to be refilled if we don't maintain. My waist is now 34 1/4 inches - and I was a size 26/28 when i started in December.

Good luck!

I'm going to be on S&S for a long time I think, want to get down to a size/weight that I feel good at. I'm short so for my BMI I have loads to lose lol

xo.

Think I am going to be on this till October if my body plays ball if not then longer than that. Sadly for me there are no special occasions or holidays this year where people normally take mini breaks from the plan, so ill just stick with the 1 week break every 12 weeks. I am planning to have at least 1 naughty day on my weeks break then do the rest of the week as per S&S guidelines whatever they are

Looks like there are quite a few of us planning to stick around for the long haul :)

Me too. I have been on slimandsave save 5 months and have at least another 4 to go but probably 5 or six as I have a few planned breaks my sisters hen night next weekend, her wedding in August and my hols in sept though may take packs for that as dont want too many breaks. I find a break along the way keeps me motivated by breaking it into smaller chunks and sometimes it kick starts my weight loss again- as I haven't taken the 2 week break after 12 weeks. I prefer to have just one or two day break for planned breaks and then it's easier to get back on track.

Count me in! I'm here for the long haul, probably got around 6-7 stone to lose, which sounds absolutely terrifying! I'm almost at the end of week 5 and am happy so far. I've has days of extra protein, but it helps keep me on plan (ish!) I'm going on holiday at week 11 to an all-inclusive for 10 days. I don't follow the rule of I've paid for it so I must eat it, but realistically know I will probably put on a stone. Hoping I can get straight back on plan when I come home. I expect it to take me until the end of this year to achieve my goal. If it takes longer, then it takes longer!

About the same as me then. I've managed almost 6 stone so far with the last pesky stone proving to be difficult to shift but mainly because I'm doing it having introduced some different foods and upped my calories than any reflection on the diet. If you're in the right mindset and take each day as it comes the weight soon drops off and before you know it you've lost stones and stones.

yes, our stats are pretty similar. If Ido as well as you I will count myself really lucky! You have ddone an amzing job.:D

Point is that if I can do it there's no reason why anyone else can't. It's just a question of wanting to lose the weight badly enough.
