And honestly, 43 (hanging on to it as long as possible) is not THAT old!!!

Not when you are in your early 20's its not. I remember being horrified when my mum got pregnant when she was 40. Apparently my loving daughter response was "do you realise you'll be 50 when that child is 10 - that's disgusting!!)

Not sure that I have that many admirers to be fair. Maybe I should start a little fan club - sending out signed photos etc.;) xx
 
I am becoming a compulsive weigher of not just my weight...but my body fat and muscle density as well. Just give me some more numbers to fret about....;)

Well, this morning, despite being very good and sticking to plan yesterday (I know, its the other, not sticking to plan days that are my problem) I have increased by another 1lb on my scales AND my fat has gone up....so I can't even say its water.

Even when I have gone over my points, its nothing compared to my christmas splurges which didn't do too much harm.

I am now trying to console myself with thinking that my body likes being around this level and that's that! And to be honest, I am happy with my weight and size - I just want to stay here, this time....and not go backwards again!

Oh, well. Rant over. Need to stop getting on the scales, I know, then I wont have this trauma. (Its not really a trauma, I am just trying to make it sound more dramatic than it actually is.;))

Editing my ticker cause I feel like a fraud saying 3lbs below when I'm not!
 
Why is it that our lives seemed to be controlled by scales? My molod for the day i dictated by what the numbers on the scales say!

As you have said, you are happy with the size you are and you have done so well - guess it just takes a whil for your head to catch up with your body

Well better late than never here I am. Now focus Rosie we alter from day to day and I must admit to being a daily weigher some weeks and vary from + to - 3 lbs through the week for reasons I don't know. Its always a downer when they show an increase but it could be down again tomorrow fat or not.

You are so lovely and honest that you've altered your ticker but you are still below goal and hopefully will remain there permenantly. It will be a life long process unfortunately which is why so many (me especially) regain if we don't constantly monitor it. Its the maintaining thats the real struggle and you are doing so well don't get down and sabotage it.

Serious bit over with I have issues with Ultravox ... Rach doesn't know who they are (20s) ...eeek should she be allowed out on her own?, you love them ...good girl (40s only just) splendid age to be but I am so old I'm an embarassment if I like them too (55) you can't win.

Jen didn't know who they were either - I was so gutted.

Me and Sandy (mostly me I think, looking back) did try to give her a rendition of Vienna and All stood still - but still, just blank looks coming back our way - it was a sad sight to see. An iconic band of the 80's being totally blanked by one of today's youth!

You must have been a right rocker then in your youth to have still being into Ultravox in your 30's - go girl!!!

Have you decided on the Birmingham meet yet. Just come for the afternoon or something. It would be lovely to meet you.

On the weight front - I know I should be allowing myself the leeway that weight watchers give you but I got so seduced by almost seeing an 8 on the scales (on Monday this week it was showing 9.0. 6) that I just feel even more disappointed now that it has crept back up. This is probably a truer reflection of what I deserve,to be honest, after my meals out and fun size nibbling.

Did do half hour run this morning even though my thighs still don't know what's hit them after that Davina workout - it has even been painful to sit down - they're easing off now though, thank goodness. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. Back to the gentle world of pilates and my stretchy band methinks. xx
 
Hi Rosie. Don't be beating yourself up hon. You should stay off the scales though - not good for your self-esteem imho. And, as other people have said, these are normal fluctuations.

Sandy will be on here to smack your bum - she's weight monitor, although I notice Jess has done it on her behalf.

Must admit I didn't know who Ultravox were either :p I did YouTube them though and do recognise some songs! My mumsy is a 70s girl so I know The Eagles and stuff instead! Mr Jess is an 80s fan though, so I do hear a lot.

I seem to find that whatever weight I get down to, I happily maintain about 4-5 lbs above that - so when I finished CD at 10st, I maintained 10st 4 with NO effort until I started WW.

Then I got to 9st on WW, and now I maintain 9st 5 with no effort :rolleyes:

I just have to decide whether I can be bothered to get down to about 8st 10, just so I can maintain 9st :p I lack the 'get up and go' to do things sometimes (alot of the time!)

I've lost the thread that tells you when all the meets are. However I had thought about Glasgow as I've never been there or Dublin but unsure as I'm not good with people I don't know.

Good day again yesterday with lots of exercise. an hour on the treadmill (1001 calories...I reckon its out by about 1/3 - still 600 or so is not bad) watching Shallow Hal - will watch the last bit today - quite a good film actually.

OH bought in some veggie indian food last night - mostly spicy chick peas etc which was lovely - and I couldn't see any fat so reckon it was not too bad. No rice though - only a ww naan - and will all my APs I reckon I stayed within points.

Been running to the loo loads though which is a right pain -like being back on W8. I have upped my water but not to any great extent. Maybe its the winter - or my age...see you can have a young looking face but your bladder is still 43 when all's said and done (and had 3 kids pressed against it....sorry young folks..tmi!)

off to have lunch. Lentil soup. 1.5pts per large bowl. xx
 
Hi Rosie, sorry I havent posted on your thread for a while - just dont find the time to get on minis so much these days. I thought I'd posted one night like week but must of pressed the wrong button cos its not here :doh: Am gobsmacked about you spending an hour on the treadmill - very impressive - think you deserved a whole full-fat indian takeaway for that!

I do worry that you're getting a wee bit obsessed with your body fat/water content etc - I can totally understand you wanting to see that 8 on your scales but hun you looked fab back at the beginning of January and surely its your size and the way you feel thats important when you're as close to goal as you. Ignore the body fat and water content and dont get into a stressy about it - enjoy your sexy new and wonderful body! :D Most of us would do anything to look as good as you (come to think of it I'd do anything to look half as good as you - especially as we're the same age and both had 3 kiddies!)

BTW I think it's beyond belief that Jen and Rach didnt know who Ultravox were :eek:

My Pa is 83 on that weekend so no can do for the birthday bash but I will try it for the meet if all goes well.

I am so with you on the older ladies need for the loo and when I go somewhere new its one of my Primary concerns where are the loos. But where are the other 2 children I've only seen a pic of one girl lets roll out the others.
