Lu's Food - The good and the horrifying

Time to try this again. Have been fat for far too long and just getting fatter. Walking now hurts and I am getting serious concerns about my heart. It has to come off.

Issues are:
  • Hate (HATE) exercise - if it hurts I am not interested
  • Broken Thyroid
  • Love of bread
  • Emotional eater

I will try to update each day with yesterday's food. I will be doing Extra Easy.

Tuesday 29th Dec:

Alpen Light (HexB)
Orange
Banana
Mccain Rustic Fries (3 syns)
Beef Chilli (onion, tomato, lots of mushrooms) (1.5 syns)
Sour cream (2 syns)
40g low fat cheddar (HexA)
Tomato salsa
Milk in tea (2 syns)

Total Syns = 8.5

Don't be surprised at 4 days of chilli in a row - I live alone and my freezer is tiny so a pot of chilli means consecutive days!

I am also trying to avoid bread and wheat pasta. No idea if that will help but its worth a shot.

Can't help but feel that rustic fries with the chilli would have been more satisfying than the tiny Roses chocolate (so not worth 2.5 syns) but you live and learn.

A question about Hex B - It says can have 2 Alpen Light or 4 Ryvita - is it okay to have 1 Alpen Light and 2 Ryvita? Or is that not okay? Just want to make sure :)

Well - apparently that wasn't a very good food day. Only a fraction of a Hex A, bugger all fibre and really not enough food given my weight. The kitchen seemed like too much effort last night. On the plus side - at least I didn't cave in this morning and go to Morrisons for a giant cooked breakfast on my way to work! Picked up a banana and yoghurt and Alpen light like a good girl.

@Smurfette1984 - I haven't broken myself of it yet but the thing is I don't really trust just a 'one off' weigh in if that makes any sense. If I can see that I went down a pound and it stays off pretty much every day until the next one down, I feel like I won't have a nasty surprise that it was a freak 'light' day and I thought I had lost but really I hadn't and I am back up the next week. Having written that down it doesn't seem to make any sense at all, but it does in my head lol xx

Also ate wheat pasta and feel bloated this morning - so overall wasn't a very good day. And I need to accept that wheat pasta is gone from my life. Sob.

Weigh-in this morning = -2lbs

Not sure how the wheat pasta is affecting that - I would like to believe I have a little water retention, but 2lbs off isn't that bad regardless I guess. Just feels like such a long road. But I ate myself into this state so I need to just suck it up and eat my way out of it too.

Hoped that the corn pasta would be better than the wheat pasta as its gluten free but I woke up bloated (massive stomach) and got on scales (stupid) and was 3lbs heavier. So apparently its not the gluten that is the issue. I think I need to come to terms with no pasta of any kind and dump the 4 other portions of the pasta bake. Obviously getting on the scales and seeing a 3lb gain makes me just want to eat everything in sight in "screw it" mode - but I won't :/

Feeling sad and depressed (and exhausted)
 
The pasta incident was a 4 day disaster (basically) blood sugar all over the place - bloating, cravings, exhaustion, general crappy mood... fell off the wagon (though managed not to gain any more lbs - just didn't lose any) and generally very grouchy about the end of last week. Not helped by this now being day 18 in a row at work so no energy for cooking. Blah.

However - back on track and avoiding flour like the plague from now on - it just isn't worth feeling that nasty.
