March LL starters

Hi all,

I completed my first week yesterday and had my weigh in and lost 13lbs - to say I was amazed is an understatement! :p

Strangely enough yesterday was my hardest day of the whole first seven days.

Keep up the good work! :talk017:

WELL DONE

FANTASTIC LOSSES.
Ver motivational -keep it up xxx:wave_cry:

Congratulations all of you...this diet really is amazing if you go with it. I started this technically obese, terrified of failure in every aspect in my life and feeling like at 19 my life was already over.

JUST 10 weeks later, I've lost 3 stone, classed as healthy, confident with most aspects of my life, confident in myself and my life is JUST beginning.

Its amazing - you're all doing well so far - keep it up.

Also, if anyone needs any extra "advice" that I may be able to give, PM me. Only to happy to help. I want to share the way I am feeling far and wide.

Keep going losers :D

Just a quick question to all that have been doing LL for a while. The people in my group have said that they dont really experience hunger on this diet. Am I odd that I do feel hungry? I dont mean all the time but I suppose there have been a couple of times in the last 10 days when I have been ravenous..lol. I drink vast amounts of water so I know Im not dehydrated. I was just wondering as times goes on will that hunger diminish?
I grit my teeth and get through those "ravenous" times by going for a walk or taking a bath. But will they go away??
xx

Great start March LOSERS lol. Keep on track and the weight will literally melt away.

Asil, you need to examine if what you are feeling is real hunger, or emotional hunger. I know some people take up to a week to get fully into ketosis (I think it depends a bit on how high your carb intake was pre LL, as it's the carb withdrawl that causes the hunger pains).

You will (all) experience emotional hunger - ie, I feel sad/angry/bored/tired - or any of the whole range of emotions, that 'before' I would have reached for something to eat. In the early weeks this i svery strong and needs dedication to overcome, also many people seem to 'wobble' between weeks 7-10 as well. I'm sure there's a sound psychological reason for that, but I don't know it.

Being on abstinance as well as a fantastic way of shifting the weight quickly, also removes you from f##d, and as a result the urges are more noticable. It is this time on abstinance that will force you to confront your feelings and with help from LLC/here you will work your way through them and find long-term solutions to overcoming them. This is the key to keeping the weight off in the long term.

Long post, but I hope this helps.

Hi Sean,
thanks so much for your answer. I think you are right in what you said about taking longer to get into Ketosis. I am 3 days into my second week and have kinda lost the hunger now (fingers corssed)!!
Its great to have a forum to turn to when I need some advice. Im getting addicted to this site...lol. Seems like I am swapping one addiction for another lol. I shall probably live on here between weeks 7-10. Oh and thanks for the pre warning about those weeks...at least I can prepare myself if I do struggle.
xx

Hi Nixi, and welcome!
I have to say I haven't noticed feeling cold, although I have read that many people do - I think it mentions it in the book you get in your first meeting as well. Good luck - look forward to seeing your next weeks loss! :)

Hi Nixi, welcome, this is a really friendly forum, good luck for the weigh in.

Hello March Losers! You're all doing so well!

Yes you will be cold, it's a side effect and there are a couple of threads on it on the boards, just put 'cold' into search. I still hug a hot water bottle!

Keep up the good work and keep adding those stats in your sigs and sidebar!
