So jealous! I'd love to have rhubarb on tap, my grandad used to grow it so we'd have loads of it. I actually made some crumble topping this morning and had rhubarb, ff yog and 2.5 syns of topping! Who said you can't have desert for breakfast? ;)

Morning! Don't forget to see if u should syn the rhubarb as its stewed! Hope u have a good day xx

Rhubarb is fantastic as its low syn. 100g stewed is 1/2 syn or you can have 450g as a HexB (not sure if thats just on green days but think its all plans??) so I am in heaven!

It really is gorgeous with fat free natural yogurt stirred through, the sweet tartness of the Rhub and the creaminess of the yog - fan-bloody-tastic! Recommend to all.

Oh and check this little blurb out from Wiki :
"Rhubarb can be used as a strong laxative. Its roots have been used as a laxative for at least 5,000 years.[SUP][13][/SUP]
The roots and stems are rich in anthraquinones, such as emodin and rhein. These substances are cathartic and laxative, which explains the sporadic use of rhubarb as a dieting aid."

So win/win for me :D xx

Surely you'd not eat 450gr of it in one go. That would keep you in the loo for a whole day.

Oooo good good! Just checking! I've never tried rhubarb what would u liken it to? Hopefully eating that will err get things moving for ya! Xx

I don't think you can liken it to anything tbh, it's quite tart if you eat it raw but stewed with a bit of water and sweetener it's just beautiful. You should try it! So easy, just cut into inch long chunks, put in a pan with enough water to cover the bottom and a bit of sweetener. It releases it's own juices so no need for lots of water. It will become soft and kind of pulpy. It doesn't take long at all.

I am going to have some tonight with ff yog again just because it's so lush! Xxx

It is a hell of a lot for a HexB but I guess spread over the day it's not so bad? I need all the help I can get in that department at the moment so I'm not complaining! :D xx

Minky, I feel your pain... I am having major issues in this department too.

Crumble topping again is so easy!
57g of low fat Marg (I used I can't believe it's not butter light) and 113g self raising flour - I think that's the weight... Will double check when I get home. Melt the Marg (I done it in the microwave and it takes like 30 secs to a minute most), pour the marg and some sweetener into the flour, mix up and rub between your fingers to make 'crumbs'. Spread over a baking sheet and bake till brown. I did take mine out after about 10/15 mins and give some of the bigger lumps a squeeze n crush to make smaller crumbs. But probably done in about 20 mins! All depends on the oven. You could add cinnamon or mixed spice or ginger if you wanted to! I just love it as it is though.

It works out 30 syns for the lot but although that sounds a lot I just used 10g of the final baked mixture for 2.5 syns. It was enough for me and I can get 12 portions out of that.

Here is a pic of the finished product with the rhubarb, yog and crumble :
