My Cambridge diet diary

Hey everyone!!!!!

Well tomorrow evening it will be weigh 4. I have got 2 lbs to loose to hit the 2 stone mark so fingers crossed. I have noticed a huge change in by body shape this week, so i'm confidant that i will. Can't quite believe that 4 weeks ago i weighed 19 stone, and only in that short time, i'm hoping to weigh 16 something.... This diet is amazing.
Another good day today. My OH and I were godparents to our friend's little girl, and then went to her dad's restaurant afterwards for the party..... I was very good, and even resisted munching on a bit of the LOVELY looking christening cake. V pleased with myself for that. :)

Wow Spolly, you are doing amazingly well. Congrats on your weightloss so far and good luck for your weigh in. :)

yay! thats brilliant news, congrats. ive noticed a real change in my body shape too, have you dropped a dress size yet?

good on you for resisting cake too :)

Yeah i definitely have. I was struggling to get in to my size 20 trousers before, so really should have gone up 2 22 but couldn't bare to go and buy them, but now i'm comfortably in my 18's again. Its a wonderful feeling!!!
Thanks so much for all the encouragement guys :D

Went to the docs today, usual monthly check up on my back, to pick up my prescription for the copius amounts of drugs i'm taking at the minute and to discuss thursday's epidural (VERY scared about this). Well anyway, my doc was very interested in CD when i discussed it with him origionally, so he was keen to get me on the scales to see how i'm getting on. and i can report that it was a 7lb loss since last week. (the other good bit is that my doc's scales weigh me a couple of pounds heavier than my CD's :)). Not gonna count my chickens with this though, and i'm SUPER SUPER happy with the loss.
Will have the official loss tonight :D

8lbs!!!!!!

SO happy with this loss, one pound under two and a half stone!!!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!

Well done Spolly - I bet you're so pleased!

You've done so well, it's amazing just how much you have lost in such a short space of time.

Cheers!!!
Yeah, i'm really happy. I'm sure it'll start to tail off soon, and my start weight was 19stone, so the bigger you are, the higher your initial losses are on any diet. It would be wonderful to think that i continue to have large losses, but i don't think its realistic. But i'm SUPER happy so far!!!!
Honestly couldn't do it without everyone on here's support though!!

Hi Spolly!

:0clapper:Wow, congrats on your amazing weight loss!!!! I'm soooooo jealous! ;)

Keep on as you are and you'll be at your goal weight in no time. :)

Have a good day. x

Been feeling really down in the dumps this weekend. My back has been very painful for about a week now (It seems to come in waves, so sometimes the pain is there, but not that bad, and sometimes its so painful i'm in tears when i pick up my son). Also, when I went to the hospital for my epidural on thursday (which I have been waiting for 12 weeks for!!) the specialist refused to do it as apparently i should have had an MRI long before now. Dr explained to me that he can't go sticking needles in my back without knowing exactly what the damage is... Fair enough, but for the last 12 weeks, i've been counting down the days until the 9th September when i will not be in pain any more :/ .... Needless to say i left the hospital in tears, and have pretty much remained in that state since.
So for some strange reason, I have started to drink milk in my tea again, and last night, my OH went out with the boys, and a friend came round for a girly pampering night (face packs, pedicures etc) and I have no idea why, but next thing i knew, I was eating a Chinese takeaway... NNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!
So for obvious reasons, i'm not expecting miracles on Monday :(

Hey there Spolly,

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time at the moment. I totally sympathise with you on the back thing, I ruptured a disc myself last year and still have pain, on and off...it's not much fun at all . Is the next step an MRI - do you know how long you will have to wait for that? Am crossing my fingers for you that they can get you in and seen quickly.

Don't worry about your chinese, it's over and done with - forget about it and 'move on' as they say. I'm sure you'll be fine :D.

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow and have a great day!

Aaah, Hon, I'm so sorry you're having a rubbish weekend. That's really bad that they refused to do your epidural. :( Are you going back to your doctor to get them to sort this out? Hon, don't worry about your blip. It happens to everyone. Just draw a line under it and start again. At least if you don't have a big weightloss on Monday you know the reason why. My CDC always says that it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. :patback:

Hey - just catching up on everyones news.Thats not great about your back eh. Are you taking many painkillers? I am due in for a 'denervation' on my lower back facet joints (?!) next monday. I had to wait ages for an MRI, then it showed a disc bulge onto the nerve, so am now under pain management injections which are the only thing that work. Booked in next week for the next stage up - will (hopefully) last 8 months. You should speak to them about injections - have you had physio? It never worked for me so I just pestered and pestered and got my injections. Try them they are amazing. I do feel for you as I know exactly how youre feeling. I think you deserve the Chinese actually! Got to rush now but take carex

Thanks so much for your msgs of encouragement and support. Not quite as devastating as i thought. I've lost 2lbs, which although its not a great loss, considering the week i've had, i'm very happy with. I was expecting a gain or possibly to stay the same, so good news.

Been back on it today so fingers crossed, next weeks weigh in will show a decent loss.

Cookie - Yeah, with the amount of painkillers i'm on, I am sure if you picked me up and shook me, i'd rattle :) I'm taking diclofenac as an anti-inflamitory twice a day, co-codamol every 4 hours and amitiriptiline at night. Also ibuprofen if needed. I hate taking tablets, and have been on this combination for 4 months nowso that is getting me down. I've had physio and seen an osteopath and neither have worked. The specialist recons my MRI will take max 2 weeks as he's referred my case as urgent. Then after he's seen the damage, he'll recommend the next step to take. I will mention to him about the injections though. Does the pain totally go for the whole 8 months??

Well done for the 2 pounds! You sound strangely like me with regards to your painkillers, except I have Naproxen. Hate the amitriptiline things as they make me sooo sleepy its like I have a hang over!

Well the injections take a while to kick in, but they are SO worth it. Am a bit nervous about next week though with the 'big one' - its called a denervation where they do something to the nerve. Eek. You should ask about them - I couldn't have carried on without them.x
