My Road To Slim City

Heya sweetheart
I meant to comment on your diary too  I am so so so sorry, I guess I forgot as we had spoken

Huge :grouphugg:

how are you today sweetie ? :bighug:

I would send Carla to walk Daisy but all she'd do is be scared of Daisy then teach her to squirrel chase :8855: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

:bighug: Just read on Jackies diary that things are still bad.

Have you managed to get a wheelchair for your holiday?

Hi everyone,

things still not brilliant and at the weekend I tried to go out to Asda and get some shopping... I went on my crutches which aren't great for my hands or wrists but better for my legs! I got half way round teh shop and wanted to burst out crying! I was knackered and hurting ALOT! I got home and collapsed... I slept from just before 7 that evening right through to 9 the next morning.

Today I made the decision that we are going away as I KNOW my husband and children need the break more than me. My hubby has been a rock through all of this and without him I would be lost. He has not only been working full time but he has been doing everything around the house and for me. The boys will also love pushing me around and no doubt letting go of me when we get to a hill :8855::8855:

As far as the plan goes well that has been sh**e! I haven't gone completely off and I think Jackie may be that little angel on my shoulder that is trying to keep me on track... Today I was fighting the urge to eat a pack of Doritos and the second I opened them and put the first one in my mouth... the phone rang and it was Jackie :busted:

Dawn your comment had me laughing my head off and the last part of it!!! All I could imagine was Suki hanging on to your ni**le and not letting go :8855::8855::8855:

Tilly I think I am going to look like that guy off Little Britain when I go to Butlins as I will be in the wheelchair and may get out of it to go to the toilet :D or maybe even the bar :party0036:

hello sweetie :bighug: if I am the angel on your shoulder all I can say is you've got bleddy strong shoulders :8855: :8855: :8855: just think of all the syns you saved by nattering :D

Glad you are going away and now everytime you mention it I shall imagine you as a much prettier version of Little Britain :8855:

Take care and keep in touch, loads of love, and hoping that you wake up feeling 100% :D xxxxxxxx

:8855::8855::8855:

"I want that one!" hahaha I will get James to film me when getting out of the chair and I will get him to shout "Its a miracle!" just to see peoples faces :8855:

Thank you for always managing to cheer me up Jackie and there is only one word I can think of after our converstaion today...

:8855: :8855: think yourself lucky that blooming bananna conversation continued on and off for hours and hours and hours until 8pm when she finally got some  :8855:

Glad I cheered you up.

From now on all I need to say is banannas :8855:

or Little Britain :8855:

Before I say anything else I would like to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes :bighug:

I have been in hospital for a few days and have been through numberous tests including x-rays, occupational therapists, rheumatologist, copious amounts of blood tests etc etc

I have now been sent home with injections in my stomach to stop blood clots whilst I am immobile and I have had a steroid injection stright in to my muscle.

Diagnosis is still not clear but they feel it could be one of two things

1st is Rheumatoid Arthritis which I am going through a severe attack at the moment because a virus has bought it on early!

2nd is Lupus...

I have to go back to see the consultant in 3 weeks time and I will get a diagnosis then based on how I have reacted to the steroid injection and they are still waiting on some important blood results that take alot longer than normal blood tests.

I have to rest up completely which may be slightly difficult as we are due to go on holiday with the children next Friday for a week :( I don't want to let the children down as they have been looking forward to it so much. We are going to Butlins so I am off to see my gp on Monday so he can arrange for a wheelchair to go up there in. I can barely walk at the min and every step is agony! As much as I am a proud woman and don't want to be in a wheelchair when we go away but I would prefer that than my boys to be stuck at home with me doing nothing...

Thank you once again for all of your messages it really meant alot.

p.s Steve the next time I call your phone I expect you to answer ;)

I can't have the phone on during the day, unfortunately, and I have no missed calls from you Shell:confused: When did you ring and was it not from your mobile?
I bet you rang one of yor male-escort lines again:p

Evening All, well to say I am bored is a bloomin understatement... I hate having to sit down and do nothing and I tried to unload the dishwasher earlier and it took over half an hr grrrr I am really frustrated as I feel fine in myself but my body wont let me!

Thank you again to you all for your messages...

Dawn - Can you please send Suki down to walk Daisy for me as she is missing her 2 walks a day! How is Suki doing? Has she started chewing the skirting boards yet? Daisy started it yesterday lol I was not impressed but also shocked it took her this long :D

Lynne - If I don't go to Butlins I was be at home moping because I want to go and if I don't I am going to lie on the floor and scream and scream and scream till I'm sick looking a bit like this :8855:

Tilly - It has been quite frightening how quickly it all came on... One day I was out with the boys and Daisy and then next I couldn't walk! Scary as hell :(
How are you? I haven't got around to anyones diary recently so if you fill me in on here I would appreciate it ;)

Jackie - I know you didn't comment recently but just in case your reading thank you for the phonecall today and over the last few days. I really appreciate them hun x x

Saddle Bags - Glad to see you back and on the wagon... Stay on it now on the run up to Christmas and I am sure you will be suprised at the end of the week as your body will react as if it is your first week on the plan x

Steve - Um helloooooo Steve? STEVE!!!! Not answering my phonecall or on my diary hmmmm I may start taking it personally ;)

Welcome back Shell - hey I wouldn't ignore you! - not knowingly, you're one of the few on here that doesn't grief me.....I've a feeling that's all changed now;)

You've got me paranoid now! - the only calls I can't recognise in my received list are a London number (020) and a blocked number - both were when I was at work.

You not got one of them motorised chairs? - wheels of steel rock!

Can none of you spell Shell?:p

Hope your enjoying the break and still speaking to me for not taking your call at work;)

Don't suppose you'll be doing much jogging at present, unless you're like that dude off Little Britain:eek:

Steve

Hiya Shell (is that the right spelling Steve?)
Hope you're having a lovely time on hols and hope that the boys and hubby are relaxing too.
Let us know how you are when you get back chica.

Well done Pomster;)

maybe we were just testing to see if you noticed we couldn't spell it :p

Shell had to come home from holiday early today as they all came down ill with a bug :( get well soon Shell and family :grouphugg: xxxxxxxxxxx

:bighug: Hugs Shell - hope you get over the lurgy soon.

Morning Michelle,

Hope you had a good break, and scored loads of points running people over ;)

You looked gorgeous in the photos on Facebook, and very happy, despite being unwell xxx

Evening all,
well we went away and we had a great time. I felt a real pain and a bit of a burden at times although I was reassured by my hubby that I wasn't a burden at all!
We got to see Danyl Johnson (of X Factor fame) Michael Collings (Britains Got Talent singer) and Steven Hall (The funny dancer also from Britains Got Talent) It was a really relaxing break away :D
Being in the wheelchair really gave me an insight into what people with disabilities go through every day... Some people are soooo rude and slam doors in your face, push past you and one man actually stepped over me like I was a piece of rubbish on the side of the road! I have one funny story to tell you all that still makes me chuckle when I think what I did...

My sister and I went to queue up for the entertainment venue one evening about 20 minutes before they opened the doors... There were actually some perks to being in the wheelchair because we got to queue up in the disabled line which they let in 5 minutes before anyone else so everyone can get a decent table before the crush of people.

Whilst in this queue a lady in the queue next to us which just so happened to be the public line (non disabled line). This "lady" started to talk to me across the railings and in a very patronising voice said

"Are you ok down there?"

to which I politely replied

"Yes thank you!"

She then went on to insult me quicker than I have ever managed to be insulted in my life!

She said "I saw you walking into the toilets earlier and I have never thought about faking it to get in here to get a seat quicker... Perhaps I should get my husband to break my legs just to get a good seat! hahahaha!"

I was absolutely furious and just to let you all know. When she saw me walking in to the toilets there was actually a queue for the disabled toilets and rather than take up a space in the queue I struggled on my crutches to get into teh ladies loo's.

I ignored what the woman had to say and just turned around to my sister and said in a loud voice

"Oh did I tell you someone called me from a village earlier and told me to keep an eye out because their idiot is missing!"

I saw this woman around all bloomin week and then one day when my sons were one a fairground ride and we were sat watching them... The village idiot came and sat down next to me on the bench (well I was in the wheelchair and she was on the bench!) She wouldn't take her eyes off me and was staring at me for at least 5 minutes and I could feel her eyes drilling in to the side of my head... She was listening to mine and my hubby's conversation. So I started to talk quieter and winked at my hubby so he knew what to do as well. She actually leant in to try and hear what we were saying. So I got quieter and she leant in more. Just as she was a few inches away from me I turned towards her quicker than a greyhound chases after the rabbit. As I turned and came face to face with her I barked like a rabid dog and she got up and ran away.

I couldn't stop laughing and neither could my hubby but ohhhhh I felt so much better for doing that :8855::8855::8855:

We are home now and I can see Jackie filled you in on why we came home early... There was a sickness bug which was going around the camp and it was evil! 6 of us in our caravan came down with it within 1 and a half hrs. The other 2 also came down with it. I have actually lost 10lbs whilst being away but I have to say it is down to the pure fact of the sickness bug and I have no doubt when I actually start eating properly again that I will put all of that back on :break_diet:

So how are you all? x x

Hi Shell - glad you had a good(ish) time. Pants about the bug though.

I can totally sympathise about the wheelchair malarky. Mum has one when she is here as she can no longer walk more than about 20 yards. As you say, people are so RUDE to her when she gets up out of the wheelchair to move into a real seat in a bar for example.

Did you get the talking "over" you approach? That's the favourite here. People ask ME how SHE is over her head!!! I'm just really rude back and tell them to ask her - being very pointed that she hasn't lost the use of her mouth and brain, just her legs. Grrrrrrrr

Hope you all get over the bug soon. You never know, if you stick to plan the majority of the 10 lbs might stay off. Now THAT would be a result.

Hi Shell!!!

So good to have you back with us x

OMG...just pmsl at your barking!!! Hubbs thinks I've lost the plot!
