New year new US!

Thanks guys..well I said earlier I think ketosis had kicked in because I haven't been hungry until tonight but thinking about it I'm not sure....I have no energy at all well I work full time 9-5 and I whizz around at work fine. As soon as I get home I feel physically and mentally exhausted I've just made hubby and son pasta salad for their pack up and could have literally used the knife I used for chopping salad to pierce their bodies!! They said go and relax wel sort it.....erm...after a million questions like 'how long do you cook pasta?' I thought sod it it's easier to do it myself I swear if anything happened to me they would starve.....and breath....needles to say I'm not in the euphoric stage yet lol

Hi forgot to check in yesterday (day 6)...stayed the same on the scales boohoo...had an ok day yesterday 2 shakes at work and then when I got home I had chicken and roasted Kale because I knew I'd be having a few drinks....
Had Coke Zero and vodka was tipsy after first one (not like me) had about 5 and then drank loads of iced water. Still woke up with a hangover aaaagh!
Not weighing today there won't be a loss and I will get disheartened so sticking to it all weekend and will weigh in on Monday

Sod it I couldn't help it and weighed myself just now and to my surprise im 1lb down so that's 10lb and today is day 7 so surprised after my night in with the vodka...I'm now 13st 4lb (was 14st on Sunday) yeaah

Oh by the way thought I'd share something with you all. I'm a Nurse and a few months ago I went to a seminar on obesity fronted by a renowned obesity specialist consultant. He basically said something that has stuck with me..And is contrary to what a lot of people say when you're doing meal replacement diets about putting it all back on bla bla bla.
He said that people in particular women who lose weight gain weight lose weight gain weight are still healthier and will have a better life expectancy overall than someone who has been consistently overweight and has not challenged their weight loss. Basically he said
If you have many failed weight loss attempts but did have some successes in between (peaks and troughs) overall in your whole life you are still healthier than someone who accepts their weight and doesn't try and stays stagnant..
This made me feel better...I can't tell you how many people say to me "you know you will put it all back on don't you when you stop " I just think I may or I may not but at least I'm trying and I'm challenging myself .....

My OH sometimes says how many times are you going to do a diet and I think to myself at least i know there's an issue and I'm trying to better myself (unlike him who is embracing the 'Homer' look (ooh bit harsh!!!)
I don't tell him that!!
 
Well done spanner, 10Lbs is awesome.

Interesting about what the consultant said too as I always thought that yo yo dieting was really bad for you but what other choice is there. I know I will always struggle to maintain. Good to know that trying is still better than staying fat. People at work have said I'll put it back on again but to be honest they are all on weird diets too. When I lost weight with CD I kept it off more or less for 3 years, then took my eye off the ball and it crept back up.

Another reason to lose weight is working in a hospital. I've only been there a few months but it really puts health into focus.
 
Well done on the 10lb loss! :) I hear alcohol in ketosis can be quite dangerous, so glad you're okay! Well done for getting back to plan too and not eating a post drink kebab or something haha
 
I don't know how anyone can stomach the savoury meals they are gross just tried to have s.pie oh god one mouthful was enough and tasted exactly the same as carbonara and chilli back to the shakes I think!!

I've enjoyed all of the savoury meals that I've had so far. Never used to like shakes but they aren't too bad and are easy to make at work. Did you pick all of the items you wanted or buy a mixed pack? x
 
I love the meals. They make this diet doable for me. Couldn't stand just shakes all the time. Guess we're all different.
 
I ordered pick n mix my own, so far I've tried sausage mix, porridge, spag Bol, chilli and shepherds pie and carbonara I'm not a picky eater and I think each one is disgusting (sorry exante!) the shakes I like but exante have changed formula and they are a bit too rich now I mix with 300mls not 200.
if anyone lives in the South Yorkshire area I have lots of savoury meals free to a good home!!

Well guys I'm on day 8 and I still don't think I've got to ketosis feel like giving up I am starving all day every day despite drinking loads aaaagh when will it happen?!?!

Don't give up spanner as once you get there you'll be fine. We're all different and take different amounts of time x
 
keep going spanner it takes me along time to get into ketosis, but I'm there now & you also will be, it will be worth it x
 
You've probably set back your ketosis by drinking Spanner (sorry) stick with it and your hunger will be gone soon.

10lbs is excellent.
 
Hi Astral - you mean alcohol?lol I've been drinking loads of water but did have a few vodkas on Friday night do u think that could be it?
Well I was on the verge of quitting bit woke up this morning and another lb gone and feel a bit brighter today and bit more positive

Well guys it's finally happened I'm n ketosis I've got no ketosticks but it's the first day I actually don't feel starving...I defrosted a chicken fillet for tea and just had half as I'm not that hungry.....hurray
I also figured since I usually slump on the sofa at tea time and today I've done an 8 hour shift then come home cooked everyone tea and then scrubbed the oven....bring on phase 2...the cleaning phase
X ps lost a lb this morning when weighed so 11lbs in total day 9
