Obesity is not my name
I am not a red line on a chart
My tears fall soft, just like yours
This fat still cushions a heart

I am not an entertaining joke
an Excuse to make you grin
My outer layers may have their faults,
but I am not just skin

I am not a target for sympathy
and diet advice has its place,
but I don’t need to be told how good I could look
cos I have such a lovely face

I am not my dress size
I am not the size of my shoe
There is a good person inside me
I am just as worthy as you

I do not find reason to judge you
So I ask that you do the same
I‘m an extraordinary person
But obesity is not my name

Hi Debs - yes writing little poems is kinda like a diary for me. I have lots of "Dieting" ones. I wrote this one when I was particulaly annoyed after a Doctors appointment!

Hi Joanne - would love to read some of your poems. The class sounds good, I wouldnt be brave enough to read mine out in front of people though lol.

Belief

Hi Sappho

Here's one of mine

Belief
It’s a feeling, a knowing

You feel comfortable and trusting

You surrender to the inevitability

It must happen, it will happen

There’s no decision to make, it’s made

Faith, duty, conviction

It might take work, commitment,
dedication

I don’t know how

But I have belief

One day it will happen

I’m assured of the outcome

I’m on the edge, awaiting the beginning

Ready, devoted, ardent

I can feel the enthusiasm being ignited

The believing and manifesting are being realised

It’s with me, it’s starting, I’m prepared

I can do it, I can do it,

I can lose 5 stone

I’m a BELIEVER!!!!!!
