Ooh, a diary! That's new... Let's give it a go.

Now, where to start? Well, it's been a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, lack of stickability, back problems and a positive hatred of the body I have inflicted on myself, (body-image issues - moi? You betcha). So here I am, looking for a quick-start to keep the motivation levels up.

I have seen friends lose tons on LL, one of whom has actually kept it off for 3 years, and others who have lost similar amounts on Exante. For me, it had to be Exante because I could not afford LL, nor would I be able to take the 'Counselling' seriously.

I am a bit late discovering MiniMins, I've been on TS for four weeks already and have lost my first stone - YAY!! I have to say that so far this has been a dream for me. Once I got past the first 3 days and the headache, I have pretty much sailed through. I am NOT hungry. I can cook happily for my husband and I love watching cookery programmes on television, (Rick Stein is a god!) I'm also doing rather a lot of sniffing...dinners, cakes, burgers etc. I maintain that there are NO carbs or calories in a good sniff. ;)
Oh - another unexpected bonus! You know, I always enjoyed a glass of red every evening after work. I worried about not having that but, guess what? I haven't had alcohol for the whole four weeks and I'm good with that! In fact, I went out with the Much-Beloved last Friday, ("Sparkling water for me please, no lemon"), when a round of drinks went past me. I caught a whiff of the red wine and to me it smelled foul! (Am I cured? Nah, I kinda think not. It was probably a bad bottle...but it was the best kind of positive reinforcement!)

In order to get back down to a size 12 and into a healthy BMI I have to lose another couple of stones. Right now, I'll be happy to get out of double figures...

I started off weighing myself every other day and watched the pounds melt. Last weigh-in was three days ago and I am now aiming at not standing on the scales again until next Tuesday.

I am most worried about the fact that I start AAM this weekend. Will eating real food send me on a downward spiral to crash and burn another weightloss attempt? The recipes on the Exante site look lovely so I hope that if I can keep to just those meals I will be able to maintain the stats.

Anyway, that'll do for now. If anybody reads this and has any input about AAM weeks, I'd be very grateful to hear from you.

    Hey Gladys, welcome!
I'm on week 6 now and had the same worries about AAM week - I had to be pretty strict with myself because by day 4 I noticed I was starting to pick at things other than my one low carb meal, so had a stern word and finished it off with two perfect AAM days :)
Biggest worry.... would it turn me into a food-obsessed monster who couldn't resist emptying all the cupboards and eating everything in sight? Nope - went straight back to TS the next day and will have my official weigh-in tomorrow (spolier: its a good one!)
Am really glad I did AAM week - it helped me notice some more things about my relationship with food, I got to eat some scrummy things and it hasn't made me fall off the wagon. Result!
Hope things go as well for you, well done on that first stone!

    Thanks for popping in!

Hi LED - thank you so much for your kind words. I will stick to the rules 100% and feel a bit more confident now...I think. :sigh:

Stupidly, I weighed myself this morning - 4 days too soon. I was punished by seeing I have only lost 1/2 pound since Tuesday. My sensible angel is whispering that I'm not to worry, it'll be alright on Tuesday but she's being shouted down by my paranoid devil screeching "NOT FAIR! STUPID DIET!" These two spend most of their lives bickering and I do tend to only hear the loudest voice.

Not this time, Sunshine. Angel wins this time. I will start on AAM tomorrow. I will stick to it and then, on Tuesday I shall be rewarded by a decent loss on the scales.

    I will. I will. I will.:p

    (I hope...) :wave_cry:

Good luck Gladys! Just to let you know I found things slowed down a bit the first few days of AAM (just because I had food in my stomach I guess!), so I lost 2lbs AAM week but 6lbs the following week, yay!
So don't panic if Tuesday isn't the best WI ever!

Well, I waited until Tuesday to weigh...

..and at least I am losing again. One WHOLE pound..:sigh:
What's going on?! I've stuck religiously to the Total Solution. Over the weekend I have 'Added A Meal' (Yummy stir fried sesame chicken and salad on Saturday and then the ham, mushroom and ricotta omelette for Sunday breakfast; gorgeous). OK, yesterday I didn't add a meal - to be honest, I wasn't hungry so didn't fancy anything - but I will have the salmon this evening.

If this slow-down continues I shall have to do something drastic. I don't suppose I will be permitted to chop one of me legs off, so I will be forced to go to the gym! And that's something NOBODY should be forced to witness.:(

I wish I had a tape measure. I look in the mirror and see my face looking slimmer. My favourite jumper is baggy around my arms. My waist is beginning to put in an appearance again. I guess, then, that if the weight is not disappearing; the load is, at least, shifting.

Now, can I hold out and NOT weigh again until NEXT Tuesday? Hmmm...can't promise.

Well, it's Wednesday. I didn't weigh in! Hope the small god of suffering dieters smiles down on my restraint and rewards me with a loss...
