Please help,not losing and need encouragement! :(

Hi everyone, so I have been on the extra easy plan for 3 weeks now, the 1st week i lost nothing. My leader put it down to me eating toomany bananas and mullerlights. I cut down on these the 2ns week and lost 2lbs. Then this week I have put 2lbs back on. I am seriously upset...I love the diet so much but am really, really dissapointed. I have loads of friends that have done it ands lost like 3 stone in a matter of a few months! Does it just not work for some people? Should I try doing red and green days instead of EE ? Can anyone tell me what days they lose the most on? red,green or ee? I have paid up until nearly xmas so have to keep going and want to, just need to lose 3 stone and i will be happy, am seriously down about my weight and feel so unattractive for my hubby(even tho he insists he doesnt care what size i am!) so want to be a sexy size 10 again!! Thanks in advance!! xx

Aww hunni try and not lose faith. I only lost 0.5lbs this week despite thinking i had been really good!!! Try and increase how much water your drinking and eat more super free foods like veggies.

Thanks hun... i have been drinking about 8 big glasses a day, dont thinki could drink any more than that, its a struggle enough to drink that much! do u mind me asking what day you mostly do?? xx

Hi ya,
Have you got a food diary posted for us to have a look at, if not i would start one, and log EVERYTHING that passes your lips.
Have a play about with the different plans, there is no *best* plan, they all work differently for everyone. Trial and error, find what works for you. If you have a log of all your weeks. you should be able to see what works best for you.

I am no expert as I am only three weeks in myself but last week I found myself following extra easy but NOT ensuring I had the 1/3 super free, I gained 1lb. Are you sure you have been having the 1/3 superfree per meal?

Yep I have been having at least 1/3 superfree foods with every meal plus extra superfree foods between meals :(

Can you post a diary? Also, how much do you need to lose - a lot or just a bit? Are you eating too much, or perhaps not enough? Hard to tell without something to go on.

Also, of you have been on plan for 3 weeks, the odds are your period must be around somewhere? Some people can put on over 2 pounds (me!) and if you are losing 1 pound, then even if you have had a great week you are going to gain "weight".

do u use syns weigh hex whats a typical days food for u ?

i have lost most of my weight on ee and have just in the last month or so started to play about with red and green

Aw hun I feel your pain! It has happened to me when I was losing nothing or even gaining despite being 100% on plan... so discouraging. But then you may just get the odd week when it falls off... admittedly to make this happen for me, i had to moderate my portion control. I was eating loads, of all the right foods, but it seems that it was too much. Your stomach will shrink eventually!! The other thing is that not everyone agrees with EE. My sister was losing nothing on EE but as soon as she changed to an equal mixture of red and green days she was absolutely flying. The final thing is, and I know this one is hard, but you just can't compare yourself to anyone else. The people you know who have lost so much may have had more to lose or were eating worse things before. There may be just one food you are currently eating that is not working for you, and a food diary will help you pinpoint this. Eventually you will find what works for you, don't give up! :)

Thanks for all ur replies, it means alot and had given me some encouragment, as from tomorrow i am going to try eating red. Here is my typical EE day diet:

Breakfast:
42 g Allbran (HEB)
Mullerlight
Banana

Lunch:
Pasta
Mixed Veg- sweetcorn,peas,brocoli,carrots
Chicken breast fried in frylite
Tbsp quark
tbsp ketchup- 1 syn

Dinner:
Large jacket potato
Small tin baked beans
Lots of mixed salad leaves,cherry tomatoes,cucumber
Curley wurly- 6 syns
hilgihts hot choc- 2.5 syns
250 ml semi skim milk(HEA)

I may have an orange,apple or some pineapple thorughout the day as snacks.

hiya, i do EE every day to be honest. I have a young toddler and it fits in easier with us. But i do find some weeks im not losing. So maybe now and then i might throw in a red day :) xx

Your example day seems quite carb heavy. Bananas and pasta are potentially foods that can make you not lose, depending on how you react to carbs (again, everyone different which is why some people get on with red, some with green and some with EE - no answer for everyone!) I remember gaining 0.5lb one week when i thought I'd been really good... when I checked my food diary, I'd eaten pasta six days out of seven! :eek: Now I try to limit it to once or twice a week and I never eat bananas... and I don't know if you ever eat grapes, but i have found that they are also a fruit that can make your losses stall. Try a grapefruit with your breakfast instead. I agree, try some red days and see what happens... if you start losing you will know that too many carbs perhaps just don't work for you. Good luck x

vary your plan days - see what works best for you.

Lots of super speed foods - melon, berries etc

Drink a lot of water.

Ensure A & B choices are had.

Use syns on cooking/foods rather than snacks and treats every other day

Sorry, not much advice I can give other than to echo what's been said. Start a food diary, vary you diet, perhaps seek alternatives to pasta and bananas, don't loose heart and perservere.

thankyou. i am going to be on red as from tomorrow, i have the same food every day so will try abnd vary it , thanks for all the advice , will let u kmpw how i get on with red xx

I know at SW we aren't supposed to count calories, but at the end of the day that's what makes it work - less cals in than you burn = weight loss. However, eating too little doesn't work.

The temptation when people stop losing is to cut back, but of your issue is you are not eating enough, then that's not going to work.

It depends on what you weigh now, but for me to maintain my current weight I would need to eat around 2400 cals a day, and if exercising, even more. If I'm not careful, following SW and not feeling hungry, I can be eating only around 1200 cals a day sometimes, which is too low and will stall weight loss.

I can't see that you've said how much you weigh now - you need to take that into consideration.

I would personally ditch the EE plan & try red & green instead.

From what you ate on your diary it looks like it can easily be adjusted to suit each plan anyway.

I know each plan doesn't suit everyone, for me red days & green days I did right the way through loosing my weight & lost consistently.

Hope that by mixing things up a bit, you will see that its a great plan to be following x

I am in exactly the same boat, it's so frustrating to watch weight fall off other folk whilst I'm just standing still. I feel for you. I did lose 4lb on a red week and thought I'd found what works for me then it all stalled again - my weight loss is so not happening and it's hard not to become disillusioned. I'm going to try a mixure of EE and red this week and throw lots of superfree food.
