I spotted Food Doctor potato flour and rice flour in tesco today. The potato flour is literally just potato starch and the rice flour is very finely ground rice.
I wonder whether either of these are free? If so they would be great for thickening soups, stews and gravy without incurring any syns. Anyone know?

It's not food abuse because they come in that form already, but like all flours they are synned I'm afraid

Powdered mashed potato makes a great thickening agent by the way

Well potato flour is really rich resource of carbohydrate. It contains little vitamins and more resource of minerals. Its soup is great. you can also make better aallobujiya, kheer by mixing potato flour. It gives sticky feature as well. So For best recipe you cannot avoid it.
