Potato flour / Rice flour

I spotted Food Doctor potato flour and rice flour in tesco today. The potato flour is literally just potato starch and the rice flour is very finely ground rice.
I wonder whether either of these are free? If so they would be great for thickening soups, stews and gravy without incurring any syns. Anyone know?

It's not food abuse because they come in that form already, but like all flours they are synned I'm afraid
