Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Abigail probably isn't the best example to use as she is older but she is in a baby grow and a 2.5tog bag at the moment but am looking for a lighter one. Just have a feel of her and see what you think? Ours says 24 at the moment but am guessing it will drop a good bit later on.
We found last year when it was boiling and she was new that she needed layers as she seemed cold without...but then she had never known any different I guess...

Thanks ladies, I think I'll stick with a vest a long sleeved tshirt and the duvet and if it gets any warmer I'll ditch the vest x

I left her in the long sleeved vest and 2.5tog bag, I moved the thermometer into her cot and stayed between 20-22 degrees I checked her every hour and she never felt cold or clammy, god this is so hard isn't it! X

I was worried about the sleeping situation last night too - Bella sleeps right through so it's not even as if I could change her clothes through the night.. I think I will go and look fir a 1tog sleeping bag today and still keep her in a baby grow without a vest :-/ I'm also worrying about being out in the pram as its so hot out there, I just try and stick to the shade where possible x

Amelia for a while has just been in a babygro with no vest x her bedroom gets so hot in the day and it's like 24 degrees still when her bedtime comes. I have a fleece like blanket in her cot and don't really put it over her until the temp goes down a bit (usually when I go to bed). The window is open all night as well to try and keep that room cool!
I think every baby is different though, Amelia seems to be a real warm little thing most of the time. Today she's in an all in one shorts/t-shirt type thing but with no vest, and her temp is 37.2! So, keeping an eye on her as she's always warm!! xx

Thomas lives in vests half the time lol I find the shorts play suits are great for hotter weather as they're dressed but still cool.
It's hard over here as very hot outside but sometimes quite cool inside with air con.
Thomas runs hot like his Dad as well which doesn't help!

I'm thinking I should go look for a 1 tog sleeping bag today - Stevie's still in vest and grow and 2.5 tog bag...I've no idea when I'm meant to swap things lol.

Why do these babies not come with a book!! Lol xx

LOL I know?! Selfish little things not coming out with a manual to help us! :D xx

Éabha is such a warm blooded baby but Mams rule was no losing laters til after May... So I follow that rule too. (Never stop listening to Mam!! Lol)
So Éabha sleeps in a short sleeve vest , long sleeve sleepsuit n 1.5tog gro bag
The 2.5 GroBag I hav came with a guide for clothing versus temps n if above 22 it said to lose the vest n wear long sleeve sleepsuits

Brilliant thanks for this, she doesn't sleep without the sleeping bag as she consistently kicks off blankets all night and then whinges so I'll stick with sleep suit and sleeping bag until I can get a lesser tog sleeping bag! X

How fast has the swelling come up?? Cos my midwife said any 'sudden' swelling should be checked out xx

I was swollen slightly yesterday but today theyve just tripled in size x

Maybe ring in the morning and ask for a blood pressure check?
It will only be due to the weather but worth getting it checked out.

My feet were really swollen towards the end - a massage took the swelling down a bit - when I went in with raised blood pressure they asked about my swelling.

The other solution is slippers!! :) hehe xx

Have you got any other symptoms hun? Headaches/blurry vision/heartburn pain? If so ring and get checked, swelling like that that's come on v fast needs to be looked at! Xx

I've had a awful headache pain in the bottom of the back of my head, like top on my neck... And sometimes get flashing lights, like loads little white fly things... Heartburn is a usual for me now too x
