Pregnancy and Slimming World

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss sweetie, (((hugs))) nothing anyone says will take away your pain but I hope it helps a teeny bit to know we are all thinking of you. I know you don't know me but if you need someone to talk to who understands as much as anyone is able to I would be more than happy to listen, losing a child is the hardest thing in the world to go through. Hopefully your doctor/hospital has a bereavement service they can refer you to, they help a lot. Will be thinking of you ((((hugs)))). Hugs Crystal xx

Thanks I'm doing ok I know these things happen for a reason I'm sure I'll be fine just need a bit of time and I have got a beautiful boy to keep me smiling
Thanks for all your kind words x

Still have brown stuff  No red/pink though. It's no worse maybe a little better?

Hope the lactulose works for you! Keep close to the loo :D

Got an appointment with Obstetrics through today (4th july) anyone know what this is? They never explain in the letters!

I think it is do with any complications in pregnancy - like the glcose test for people with high bmi (that does include me) and such like, nothing to worry about just extra care for you and the baby :)

I have been on lacatose for a year pre-prenancy as well as I have ibs but the taste in minging and at first you have to do fun and games with the guess work that suits your body. It is really effective though and can help clear at the system and help with the wind and consitipation and make you feel lighter :)

Obstetrics - Basically a specialist clinic for women with consultants and midwives in attendance. Nothing to worry about - you could well go and be reassessed as lower risk than initially thought and get sent to a different set of midwives. That's what happened to me.

Just found out that someone at the party I was at last week has been diagnosed with shingles. I don't think theres any real risk as I've had chicken pox as a child so have some immunity, but will give midwife a call tomorrow.

My oldest had chicken pox while I was pregnant with my youngest they usually do a blood test to check immunity, can't remember what they would have done if I wasn't immune, since it didn't end up mattering. Hope that you end up being fully immune like I was. Hugs Crystal xx

Hi Lexie

If you have had chicken pox, then there is no risk to you with shingles. My dad had it when I was pregnant and I could see my dad.

As you say you have got immunity to shingles from having chicken pox, therefore baby has the immunity whilst in your tummy.

I had my MW appointment yesterday and for the first time it was really nice to see her (I have a MW that isnt the most 'personal' type person)

I am measuring 34 weeks when I am 36 weeks but I already knew this on Monday.

My platelets have gone back up...At 32 weeks they were 149 which was below the minimum but now they are 204. It goes to show eating loads of berries helped bring them up.

I am also 3/5th engaged....Its scary that baby is 60% into my pelvis already! Normally 2nd babies dont start getting engaged until virtually labour commences. I know its not a sign that I may go into Labour early but hubby definetly wants the hospital bag pack today (just in case) hahaha

As said I have also started back onto 'normal eating' aka SW since Wednesday and feel so much better. Not eating all the stodge has really made me feel better inside!

The only thing was that I had sneaky look at my scales on Monday before my WI (Thursday) and I was showing 1.5lb gain which I was really chuffed about..........but after doing two days of SW I have my weigh in and it shows I've only gained 1/4lb!!! It seems the moment I follow SW any possible weight gain drops away. Its like the healthy food seems to speed up my metabolism and I lose any weight gain through eating cr&p (I really hope this makes sense hahaha)

Im trying to not worry about the weight gain (9.25lb) as my consultant and MW keep telling me that they no longer look at womens weight gain. The fact I am glowing, full of energy (still got the blooming period) im still very active and all my blood levels are really high, my healthy eating and weight gain is clearly not having a negative impact.

I think I need that 2lb wet fish Fern offered to slap me with around the face to accept what they are saying lol

Sorry for the long post lol hope you are all ok? x

I think part of the reason they stopped focussing on weight unless it poses a health risk, is that women were getting really stressed about it during pregnancy. Not the best time to be stressing about weight gain.

I admit, I'm not focussing on my weight at all, I want to make sure I'm getting all the calcium, iron, omega 3 etc in as much as possible for the baby. Damn the weight - it is what it is, and I can work on losing it after the baby.

I'd pack your bag early Cheeky - no hard in it being packed although doubtless it will be packed and unpacked umpteen times before you leave for hospital. I'm really looking forward to packing mines :D but holding off til 36 weeks otherwise it will be packed and repacked over and over.

I'm so excited!

Cheeky, sounds like you've done well to only gain 9lb , you'll probably end up weighing less when baby is born than you did pre pregnancy!! lol. I'm hoping for that ;o) They do say that your metabolism changes in pregnancy as well so Sw is probably boosting that. Its been alot easier since i changed my syns from 70 to 105, not feeling as guilty if a have an extra HEB or syns which i need atm since always feeling hungry!

Well i took my 2 x 5ml spoons of lactulose last night and nothing so taken it again this morning(hope i don't regret this cos at a wedding from 1pm )pmsl

Hope everyone n bumps ok xxx

I had my 20wk scan today, but the bloody baby decided not to be coperative so only sorted of the scan with the checks for any abnormalities - so far so good. But have to go back in 3 weeks time to finish it off, so still don't know what I am having *sign*.

I think I have SPD/Pelvic girdle pain. My hips although uncomfortable over the past few months and I keep getting told its a trapped nerve, are now SCREAMING when I try to turn over in bed and making cracking/popping noises. Hurts to lift *A*/either leg, but not both together and its hurting to sit or stand in same position for any length of time.

Anyone any experience of this?

Ha ha looks like we really are having the most similar pregnancies!!

Baby was very naughty and wouldn't stay in the right position so even after a wee and a ten min walk around and another check, I've got to go back and have another scan... Just to do two of the heart checks. We stuck to our guns and asked the sonographer not to reveal the gender. Feel much better now, was feeling quite anxious last few days. Will post a pic a bit later - was really lovely though, baby wriggling around and scratched its head!

Gonna ask people a question. What was ur starting bmi?

Mines 32 and each day I keep thinkin bout it and hoping I don't gain much weight but am still healthy eating as I have a fear of c section. And after my first birth didn't go well and ended in forceps this time I really really want to give birth naturaly without drugs. An possibly have a home water birth. I want it so much I'm worrying myself sick over bein fat.

Start weight: 14s 7lb Current weight: 13s 10lb loss: 11lb
