Pregnancy and Slimming World

Good afternoon all

Well thats another midwife check over and done with :D -I left the hous at 11:50 and was home for 12:20 :D -I do like having the Drs THAT close to the house...
Anyway it seems my blood pressure, water etc are all fine and she measured bumpsy and I was back on the 50 centile line things which makes Charliebump approx 6lbs now , we got to listen to his heart beat again and he sounds as strong as an ox :party0011:.
SHe has taken some more bloods as Im still finding my hands and feet are driving me crazy -itching like good uns they are, They checked for obstetric cholestasis a couple of weeks ago and I was fine but she said they will check again just to make sure we are still ok...
So its a case of see the specialist next week and she reckons I will come away with a date for my C-section oooh exciting:p, she says they try and do them at 39 weeks , if so then I only have 4 weeks max to wait as Im 34+6 today :bliss: -the time seems to have flown, although not finding out until 13 weeks probably helped ;).
I was chatting with hubby earlier and we have decided that as soon as Im allowed and feeling up to it we are joining the gym so we can can get back on track -we both feel grotty with the lack of exercise right now.... we are starting off with swimming first and then badminton, its what we used to do before -hopefully THAT along with lost of pram pushing and baby carrying will get us back on the straight n narrow asap.
Cas3 -I started off with SW online and then went solo as we were in Germany, but Im thinking of joining a class once I can... part of that though was that I wanted to become a consultant -although I will now have to see if I think it would eventually fit in with Charlie. Either way I figure the classes will give me some discipline and get me out for an hour....
Right Im off for my nap :p
Have a lovely afternoon all!!!

You seem all sorted Capricorn, I had such dreams with my first, I really thought.I'd be able to lose all the weight but to no avail, it's really hard to fit exercise in around children. Hoping this time I can join a gym when my phone contract is up, I can't afford both, but won't be till baby is around 4 months :(

On a lighter side hubby has just informed me it's national steak and bj day today, I wish him good luck

Is that what i think it is? haha

Indeed lol, I will have to be extremely pampered and sucked up to for him to get one x

wow capricorn you sound well sorted ...good ideals with the fruit juice i think ill give that a whirl .

Ive decided to have a week on pro points just so i can have a bit of a change around with my food im finding im not really eating a lot but when i do want food i want stuff like the white bread

you girls dont mind if i stay here though do you as i will be returning to sw plan very soon,

Its getting quite exciting now hearing how some of you are close to having your babys i really do need to get my ass in gear in terms of buying for the bump

No probs sweet chantily, I might to to ww after baby. I love fact u get extra points for breastfeeding. Slimming world u just get extra healthy extras. I found when breastfeeding I craved sweet stuff, cake and chocolate. I didn't crave cereal or bread or cheese lol

Just got back from SW - 2 pounds on, not great really as only supposed to be 1lb a.week gain. However when I got back I did huge wee (easily the extra pound lol) :)

Heh guys, thank u all for ur kind comments! Daddy bear was laid to rest today with my mummy bear, and had a really beautiful send off- just can't believe within 2 years their both gone and selfishly I'm still in my 20s (just!)

He's not suffering now though so that's of some comfort and although didnt get to meet his first grandchild he rubbed my tummy and saw the scan picks- he also gave me money for my pram.

Gonna be tough now as I visited him every day in hospital for months & months after work and spent weekends with him too- now its time to focus on baby - my little miracle sent to help me through I reckon! Mummy was a midwife for over 40yrs .... Her advice wouldve been invaluable!

Anyway, thank u everyone & that's a little but more 'about me' waffled through lol x

awww sweetheart it must be such an emotional time for you at the moment you will have good days and bad ones but always remember they are still there watching over you.

love n hugs

Of course not, your welcome to stay. Have you got much left to buy? x

To be honest i havent really got much of anything yet ..i have a few blankets ive made ..some vests and a couple of baby grows ..bf has bought a sterilizer and breast pump and we have bottles but that is about it ...baby will be born early by c section so i need to start moving my back side just need a cash flow injection to move my backside with lol.

Had a call from the midwife to say my growth scan is booked for tomorrow ..when i was measured the other day i was measuring nearly four weeks ahead so she wanted to get that checked. Im not to worried as have measured bigger in other pregnancys and have never had a big baby

VM take care of yourself I really feel for you x

Sweetchanti- Good luck for ur scan at least your get to see baby again im sure baby isn't that big I found wiv mine they never get the size right.
Sounds like you got a few bits, ive left it bit late this time but you've still got a few wks to get things ready. Im trying to get the house sorted dont want to be coming home to a load of house work! x

Hope u are ok Vm, how awful to lose ur parents so young. I agree take it easy, its a painful time do just get thru one day at a time.
Sweet chantily, I just had 24w midwife appointment. Measured the baby (well my bump) as ahead of the curve. Now out of interest how do they know they are measuring baby or general stomach? Must dig out my notes from last time! See what Amy was.

Well I'm having growth scan's as my bmi is too high for them to be sure what they are measuring is just baby and not my belly so I guess they don't know really if your over a certain weight but it's prob different for every person x

Been reading up on vbac labour and now I have loads of questions, so I've rang hospital to get a consultant appointment before my next one in 4 weeks, so they've booked me in next Thursday. Let's hope my heads clearer after that :) x

I had my 18wk appt today and bp was up but expected given circumstances and lots of keystones in urine

Got to hear the heart beat which was amazing and I bawled my eyes out! Think it was such a relief after past week r so!

When the midwife felt my belly though she was shocked to c I thought I was 18wks- she thinks I'm at least 20 weeks as fundal height is 20.5cm!

Good evening all

Nice to see you back Vm019,

Well what a day we have had.... I got a call at 8pm last night from the out of hours GP to say that he had the results of yesterdays blood test and my readings were "slightly" higher so Could I see my midwife or a GP today... so off I tootle at 8:30am to the Drs. -who sends me to the other practice as that was where my midwife was working from today - so appointment there at 10:10am ..... It seems that even though my bile reading last time was fine -this week it has gone form fine (0-6 whatsits) to nearly 60 dodaas... so she had rung the Early pregnancy unit for me and yes they wanted me in -so I was there for 11am -and we finally escaped at 5pm .
They were really confused at the leap in the reading and the fact that apart from itching I feel fine ...anyhoo the strapped me to the heart rate monitor where Charlie bump proceeded to deafen the room with his boom boom boom heart beat :D -she turned the machine down but he was still giving it full welly -so she set the computer off to trace everything and apparently he is a very healthy little tike
Then I had the usual water, BP and pulse check -all fine and dandy -then MORE bloods 6 files this time -they wanted to re-check my bile reading and check for various viruses and chemical/hormone issues, then they sent me for a sonogram on my liver (luckily I hadn't eaten since 7:30am as you have to starve for 6hrs) -where they gave me a quick peek at charliebump and even pointed out "ooh look at his hair" :p -then it took 2 sonographers and a head Dr to scan my liver, kidneys and spleen -my liver and spleen are fine and I have a couple of small cysts on 1 kidney -but nothing to cause a problem so they will leave them until about 3 months after bump arrives and then scan again.
Then its back to the day care unit where they are scratching their heads because my bile reading was back down to 16 -still higher than they like but a lot better -in less than 24hrs ..and finally I have to wait for another Dr to finish in surgery so he can explain everything, and give me a prescription for something to help break down the bile, something for the itching and vitamin K tablets to help with clotting as this liver problem (obstetric choleosis) means you don't clot the same and as Im having a C-Section they want to be sure Im ok.
SO I have left there with that, and an appointment to have more bloods done on Thursday and another growth scan before I see the consultant next Friday ... so they are certainly thorough :D
As far as they are concerned I just need to contact them and go down if I get reduced movements and if they think there is need they will deliver him early -but they don't think this will be likely - and as Im 35 weeks today he only has 2 weeks before he is considered full term and 4 weeks max before my C-section ...
so all in all it has been an exhausting day -but at least we are all sorted again :D
Im soooooooooo glad that I have everything sorted as I had visions this morning of them keeping me and delivering him
SO I think tomorrow is going to be a lazy vegging out day for all of us -Charliebump missed out on his afternoon nap today and wasn't impressed :p

Right thats all the :blahblah::blahblah: from me and its time for another stretch out on the sofa,,,,

Hope you are all well.....

It's quite normal to measure 2cm either side of the average, it won't affect your due date at all, from 15 weeks babies start to grow at different rates, chances are next time you go it will be spot on x

Hi girls,

Sorry for being so quiet, this week and next week is crunch week at college - assignments and exams...

Heard baby's heart beat for the first time today! Was great to hear it... Just wish I had somebody there to share it with....
And another good thing was I am down another 1.5lb making it 6lb in 3 weeks....

How is everyone doing?
