Pregnancy and Slimming World

Hey geordie lass, yeah I was giving them 45 minutes, but he called me in after 40mins lol I was ready to walk. It was still a waste of time, I did however tell him I wasn't happy at all waiting til 41 weeks for a sweep as it only gives me a week to go into labour naturally before a section and that I wanted a sweep at 40 weeks, he has agreed and put it in my notes as he seems keen to let me try natural birth x

Hiya sorry to gatecrash but I just wanted to write and reassure you. I had my first as an emergency section (had son 2 month early) then went on to have 2 vbac (first 1 less than 2 year later) I was monitored very closely with the first vbac, went into labour 9 days over but the 2nd I had to be induced 13 over due date, had 3 lots of that pessary drug to start labour then gave birth with no consultant just a midwife present! Only had gas & air with both and was absolutely fine :) to be honest I felt like I was pretty much treated like I'd never had a section, anyway sorry to ramble x

Ps had 2 sweeps for youngest 2 & none worked for me x

I was induced 3 times and hated it, and it never worked.....so i would refuse a sweep or to be induced anyway if i went overdue

Sweeps only work if your already favourable and baby is in a good position, iv heard more people say they don't work first time than those that don't, plus they're quite uncomfortable

Yeah I'm going to try a few, I will put up with the discomfort but I know it might not work, I just want to know I did everything possible to try to go with vbac, then I know if my only option is section then I'll feel better knowing I tried everything x

Yeah my hospital say they won't induce me due to previous emergency section, I had considered a elective section so I wouldn't be too upset if I ended up with c section but I was put to sleep for my emergency section - which I've recently been told by consultant is quite rare.
So I feel like I really missed out on the birth experience. So I really want vbac but thanks for your post it helps to know how other people have got on x

hey everyone, I decided to take advantage of the reveal mags free membership to sw classes, so I joined sw yesterday at my old class, just wasnt doing well at home at all. I feel more determined now I am at a class, I will be 18 weeks on Saturday, and I was advised to stay the same for as long as I can as I have some complications due to my weight already, oops.

I am the only pregnant woman at my local sw, and she does a 25mile radius too, and said im the only one right now, so I feel a little on my own really.

Sam x

Hiya sam and welcome to the group. well done on going back to class, i went back for a while but my class moved and i didnt feel at home with the new venue.

ive been on and off plan throught this pregnancy and did have a few weeks where i followed weight watchers pro points .

Im almost 31 weeks and so far have a 4lb gain witch i would like to get off if i can would be nice to end up slimmer after bump than before but will see

good luck hun and if you need anything just give us a shout

Thanks very much hun, I have been fluctuating between 7lbs, I was 17st on 28th dec when I conceived but didnt know was preg till 2 weeks later. I am now 17st 6 and hoping to drop that and a little more if possible, if not just stay around the 17st mark. :)

Another pound on for me this week, not to worried, could have been a lot worse over Easter, but on the other hand getting very close to my upper weight gain target :(

Just wondered if people could check this for me, I have three stone to lose and i am 7 weeks pregnant i just wanted my food checking for the day: - allbran for breakfast 2 h ex bs skimmed milk, lunch mixed vegetables plate full and cottage cheese, dinner again mixed vegetables plate full and cottage cheese. 1 muller light. I feel full and not hungry at all i just wondered if this was okay?

Sounds really healthy to me, doesn't sound like much food though, but if your full and not hungry then it'll be fine :) they say at sw to eat until your full x

Hey ladies, bit long winded but just thought I'd share for those that suffer with spd and/or sciatica like me. since 16 weeks I've had this again with the pregnancy and for weeks I'm in agony whenever I've lay down, massive pains when getting up at night for the toilet, and getting stuck trying to turn over. now I've been having to use my crutches at night else I wouldn't physically be able to get to the bathroom for the pain.
So.......last night I slept on an air bed, my Gran was staying the night and we got rid of our spare bed last weekend so she had our bed. I knew the air bed would be comfy I just thought I'd be in agony getting up at night just the same. I went to bed at 11 and was so comfortable, I woke at 4.30 to find I was dying for loo but still in same position I dell asleep in - a miracle in itself! So I got up, NO PAIN. I was really surprised and I managed to walk to the bathroom better than I have for weeks, not a single ache or pain in my hips or pelvis. I'm ridiculously happy, I cannot believe the best nights sleep I've had in 14 weeks was on an air bed at nearly 30 weeks pregnant. I'm definitely going to use it again when the pain gets bad, I know it's not really feesable for pregnant ladies to start sleeping on air beds but if your desperate enough I definitely recommend it :) x
Oh and my Gran wasn't happy at all when she found out I was sleeping on an air bed lol bless her

Hiya hunny ... All the food you had was good but you need to eat some more if you can to me what you ate was what i would use as a snack ... hope you dont mind me saying ...cant remeber if your veggie or not but how about adding in a jacket spud some rice or pasta , or if not veggie what about some nice ham or chicken.

Has anyone had or going to have the glucose test?

had mine a few weeks ago hun its not as bad as people make out and my sugar levels were perfect .... to be honest more of the girls in my birth group that were slim before pregnancy seem to have come back with high levels than us bigger girls

So i got up with the intention of losely flowing slimmingworld again ... and started my day with laughing cow light thin ham and cuecumber ...but had this on cracker breads so not as good as my intentions were.

Hope everyone else is doing good ..nice and sunny out there ...just off to my midwife appointment

Hi, I had mine done yesterday at 17 weeks, midwife rang me at 9oclock last night to say it was positive, I am upset because I didnt get gd till 30 weeks last time, and I have done really well sticking to plan with this pregnancy and have not yet gained any weight, she said its quite bad so might need insulin, but going to start on metformin. The test itself is fine, but the two hour wait after lucozade drink is a long time, so take some magazines or a book, hope your results are good x
