They do all usual take bloods, urine, might swab you for mrsa they did me cos I've had it wiv my first, blood pressure, feel your tummy, talk you through c section procedure and choice anesthetic which probably be a spinial as its a planned, they give you ur premed's which are two tablets to take one the night before ur section and the other you need to take about 6 am meant to take out any acid in your tummy to prevent you being sick during op and ur not allowed to eat or drink from midnight only sips of water up to 6am. I was booked in for a morning section waited all day without anything to drink or eat and got sent home, ended up coming bk the next day for afternoon slot so they don't always go to plan x

Hope everyone's well, VM rest up today you might off just over done it and oasis you don't sound to good with spd hope ur baby turns soon so you get ur vbac, my baby was born transverse x

Thanks hun, the swab is that down below, and If it is they dont go internal do they? I read somewhere that some check weight and height, dont think my hospital do.... why would they need to do that :/

Does born traverse mean born breach? If so how come? I thought they don't deliver breach normally. No way would I want that, must of hurt a lot!

Hiya geordie lass, transverse is where the baby lies side to side across your tummy, so if you were to go into labour the baby's shoulder or arm would sit across the birth canal first. If your baby is transverse after 36 weeks they can try and turn it, but if baby doesn't turn then the only way to deliver is a section as there's no way to get the baby out other than head first or breech (feet first) but even some hospitals don't do breech births. So when Cas says born transverse I believe she means when her womb was opened baby was still lying across x

hello, yes of course :) although there isnt much slimming chat going on lately haha.
i am 30w+ 4d at the moment :) Having a little boy (I already have a girl).

You done well to not need maternity clothes til 20 weeks. I am now out of maternity jeans haha and the other pair are on the tight side. Think baby moved down last week tho (oh and the amount of food i ate on holiday)!

I think it's partly down to my love of stretchy pants anyway lol but I popped out at 22 weeks I'm 23 tomorrow I've not bought many maternity clothes only the cute slogan tops really as I had gotten around to selling my pre weight loss clothes so I have various things size 18 to 22 I can move up to when I need to lol.

We didn't find out what we were having my husband really wants to but doesn't want to at the same time and I want the surprise lol.

We've had lots of good news this week though my husband finally after 18 months got a full time job, we started getting working tax credits so we qualified for a grant to put central heating in because we're on solid fuel only aka coal! So we will finally have a warm house in time for baby!

The swab is done in your nose, throat and down below ur bk passage but you go to toilet to do that one so no internals but I don't think they will swab you for mrsa if you've not had it before I had to go on a drip for mrsa for 2 hrs b4 my section, sorry forgot to add they do weigh you and ask for your height to work out the anesthetic.

Yeah oasis is right baby was lying across and she was tucked under my ribs, you wouldnt beable to have a natural birth but they didn't know her position till they opened me up and my oh could hear them saying to each other where's the baby it took along time to get her out and have to admit it was quite painful and uncomfortable, only cos she was lying quite high x

Congratulations mummy2bslim love ur name x

Thank you cas3 ? congratulations on the arrival of your little girl I hope your recovering well now I bet it was a strange sensation to have them rummaging around to get her out from your ribs!

Sorry girls first chance ive had to get on. My scans were ok so it is the bp meds causing my problems and i just have to put up with it. Have had a hell of a week though! Whilst in hosp i cut my gum on a crisp and it bled loads i ended up getting an infection in my tooth. By time i left hosp i headed straight to the emergency dentist and she put a temp filling in my tooth! I ended up at dentist 3 times sobbing and almost hysterlcal with the pain. She wouldnt remove the tooth as was worried about the bleeding from being on clexain. By the nite time i was in a n e. Had tried every painkiller and it didnt touch it. They ended up having a facial specialist comd and put in a facial nerve block witch helpped for a few hours. Then i had to go dental hospital the next day to have it removed!

Hope everyone here is doing ok

I cant even imagine! I'm really hoping I can have a natural birth but like everyone here I will do whatever's needed to get my baby out healthy and safe!

I bought a tens machine today :D

I can't believe I missed that u had ur baby Cas! I has thought c section comments were from previous pregnacy! Congratulations

sweetchantily - sounds a nightmare and the pain sounds unbearable. Is it ok now? What did they put in the gap of the removed tooth?

Oh great, i really dont want to know what i will weigh by then..im going to be mahouusive lol

I think all hospitals must do things differently as my friend just had a c-section and she wasnt weighed or anythng and had no swabs done...just bloods and was given tablets.

Are there different anesthetics then? As there is NO way i will be put to sleep. I had an epidural last time, and was fine.

Hope everyone is okay x
