Hi all!
Inspired by other diaries, I've decided to start my own!
I'm B, I'm 26 and I live in Norfolk. I work as a legal adviser in Norwich and am about to do some more studying in the autumn (I love studying - perpetual student!).
I've been overweight for most of my 20's. I've been as low as 12st and as high as nearly 20st. I've never really specifically dieted until last year, I either cut certain foods out and did more exercise, or sometimes stupidly just didn't eat at all. I had anorexia when I was a teen as a by product of being called fat (I was muscley, as I played a lot of sports) and sometimes my silly head can't get around the fact dieting doesn't mean starving yourself, so I always refrained from doing a diet as such.
I did Weight Watchers last March until July and lost 5 stone in a short space of time, but towards the end I was restricting myself massively which ended up triggering binges, which just got worse and worse. I kept promising myself I would go back, and indeed I did, but always fell off the wagon after about a week (sometimes even days). It wasn't helped that I was made redundant from my old job as I had plenty of time to sit around and eat, and not do much exercise.
I tried doing Propoints with WW again but didn't really get on with it - I needed something with a bit of spark and newness about it, so decided to get on MFP - it's free and such a good little app for the iPhone. The principles are the same, just calorie counting instead of point counting, and nothing is off limits.
I've been doing it a week now, and have my first weigh in tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed! At the moment my calorie allowance is 1530, as I spend a lot of the day on my feet, but as I don't do any specific exercise at the moment (I have M.E. and am usually shattered when I get in from work, plus I have a two hour commute) I'm aiming for around 1200. I hope once I have a routine going I can start attending gym classes as I really enjoy them when I go.
Anyway, that's a little about me and my back story, I'm looking forward to reading your diaries and getting to know you all
