Red Lentils

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me whether or not you have to soak red lentils before you use them....i want to cook a curry tonight using them, and me and the DH have been arguing over it!

No, split lentils dont need soaking. Only whole dried pulses need soaking and even then it depends on what/how big they are.

I agree - at most I rinse them under the tap before adding them. Split lentils do not need to be pre-soaked.
