Hiya all,
I received a reply from Cambridge about my surgery next week and thought I'd put it here for everyone's information. I think the rules would be different for more serious surgery but mine is relatively minor so I can return to Cambridge diet within a month.
CD Counsellor - your advice was spot on and thanks so much for taking the time out to phone me and reassure me. You're a diamond.
To be on the safe side I would advise anyone having any surgical procedure to contact Cambridge so that the advice can be given individually.
Here's the reply..............
Dear Tansy,
I have contacted our medical team in relation to your query. Advice is as follows:-
There will still be wounds to heal so you must bring yourself up to 810kcal immediately then up to 1000kcal/d after two days, then up to 1200kcal/d after a further two days, so that when you go into surgery you are on a relatively "normal" calorie intake.
Three weeks aftere this type of surgery, provided that you are well, you can drop yourself back down to sole source.
I hope that has been helpful to you. If you have any further queries etc etc etc
So not as bad as I thought originally and there's still hope that I won't be waddling down the aisle in August!!!
Take care all
