Ruthie's Weight Loss Journey - 3lb away from next stone bracket!

Hi Ruthie. Poor you, there are some inconsiderate gits about, aren't there? Are there other things you can do when awake and stressed, rather than eat? Best to learn other coping strategies now while you're still young than trying to do it when you're an old codger like me :)

Maybe you could learn some meditation or self-hypnosis techniques? Or get some headphones and at least be listening to music of your own choice?

Or you could hammer on their door and kick their arses, inconsiderate people.

Maybe not though x

Dear me! Where have I been?Lots has been going on, not all good. STS at ww which is good, it was at a different time of day and stuff so just hoping for better next week. I am generally still able to count points and be controlled even living in studio flats, so am v.happy about that. I'm so tired, couldn't sleep last night. Hoping emotions don't get the better of me.

Man, I went to tesco last week (the HUGE ricoh arena tesco) and stocked up on...well..everything...considering I have the hugest fridge freezer in my studio flat. I got loads of nice things that can put together for points dinners. Feel very content with that. My next W.I is not till next Saturday morning as I can't make the other one. Have to 'explore' and find this ww, it's one of those 'this route may not all be pedestrianised (cant spl) areas' so basically i may come to the ring road and be like 'oh, guess that weightwatchers is inaccesible!'..but it says 0 miles so let's hope it is easy to find!!! Saturday morning would be perfect. Especially considering I don't seem to sleep anymore. I can't wait for uni to start and be busy, have to get writing my proposal for dissertation. I have it all in my mind but hopefully can put my ideas accross. Hopefully I'll get a good tutor that has a passion for my topic area.

I know that technically i've lost 12 pounds...but I lost some before I started ww....and I have lost over a stone since a landmark day when I felt AWFUL and was squished in my odeon top feeling just the worst ever. The top is still horrible because of the fabric but at least it actually FITS me now! lol! with a bit of a pull and stretch, it will be grand!!

Although some things are not going so well at the moment, my weight will not suffer!

That's the spirit! You'll soon settle back in and get into a routine and you'll be fine. Keep up the good work and good luck for next week's WI x

Thank you :) Just been a difficult time, but it feels good knowing that I have internalised the eating habits and even when feeling poop I know what is too much. I can't wait to lose more weight. I am trying to get the confidence & energy to join the gym. I'm watching the biggest loser and getting really motivated!!

Joining gym tomorrow...eeeek! Let's hope I can keep it up!!

Things are still not going very well. Got some emotional things to get through, hoping to burn it away in gym not try and eat cos of it!

Haven't had the motivation to be on here much :( but I am trying! I am thankful that I have learnt a lot so that I am still going strong. Looking forward to Saturday now.

I'm just a bit lonely. :(

I hope you enjoy the gym. I used to have a membership & really enjoyed going but the gym & a toddler are not an easy combination to juggle for me so I've now got a really good exercise bike at home :)

Sorry you are having a rought time, I hope things pick up soon :hug99:

Hi Ruth. Are you missing your family hon? First few weeks back at uni can be hard going can't they? Hope you make lots of new ww friends at your new class x

I'm a lazy cow but I loved the gym when I went! Especially the cross trainer. Hated the treadmill though :p Hope you enjoy it! Wish I had the money to join again :sigh:

I never have stayed to the meeting. I feel funny going alone...maybe I should. Are people generally talkative...it's just i am 21 and at meetings everyone seems to know each other and i'm like the only student and i've always felt a bit awkward. Maybe I should! thanks for giving me that to think about!

Lucky me a student. Its £25 to join and £2 every time i go, which is good cos I know when im busy I won't get there every week so it means I'm not wasting the other £100. I'm hoping I get into it and don't feel too self-concious

It's a bit pants this week to be honest, got a few things going on i could do without but hey, thats life eh:rolleyes:. Glad it did hun. A sad Rufusdoofus is not what we ordered:D xxx

Hey! Free GYM!!!!!!!!!!!! OHHH YOU HAVE TO GO!!! you could start off at like once a week or even once a fortnight...no pressure...maybe you will grow to like it!!! I had free gym in my 1st year as it came with accomodation and I didn't go, and i regret it now! but then i know where i was then, i wasn't very confident and i'm still nervous now!!

Went this morning...spent abt 20 mins on treadmill, 5 mins on rowing machine (cos it kills) and then 10 minutes on bike. Did a little bit of the fixed weight machines but i have a resistance band at home and I was more focuses on the cardio. Man, I sweated loads. Just had a shower and feel wonderful. and going to have my meal now and it's good because I am still burning calories. I'd say i prob burnt about 300 or more calories. Knowing that a pound is 3,500 calories...i wonder how many calories you just lose through daily tasks. I really want to lose something on Saturday morning!!

All the best for tonight! :) Your messages have seriously motivated me because how I've been feeling it could have been easier to just eat through the emotions.

Is your weigh-in Saturday morning too? A weigh-in buddy! Everyone's seems to be on Monday :p

Well, it used to be a Thursday evening...but as I am at uni and have a job saturday morning is actually the only time I know i'll always be free. And it's nearer! :)

How are you feeling this week? Hope it's going well!!! All the best for Saturday!!

And I still not on facebook with you

Mixed feelings! I've stuck to my points all week but it's TOTM! I don't know if TOTM actually affects my weight because I've never done a long term diet before where I've weighed myself weekly, but it seems to affect everyone else. I feel a bit slimmer though.

Good luck to you :D You seem to be doing very well, I'm sure you'll see a loss.

And I still not on facebook with you

Oooh ooooooooooops! Sorry hun I havent been on since!!! I will add you tonight... i promise this time :D I need to add some pictures as well so i'll get onto it tonight!

I did used to go but i went everyday and eventually got fed up cos i had gone too much to start with!! I must try and get back into it. I prefer doing a run at home though. Ontop of that, i work with Army so it's a bit embarrassing when i go in and struggle to do 20 mins running when they all are doing an hour!!!! LOL.

Wow, well done you!! So proud!!! Hate to say it but i LOVE the rowing machine!!! Sweating is good! Shows you are working hard hard hard!!!! So that little icon really was you!! Hehe. You will do hun, you are doing sooooo well!!!

I might skidaddle onto being a Saturday morning WI'er! I am gonna do it from home as i have just brought some very nice scales (WW ones, reduced in Argos... Half price!) and my class doesnt motivate me anymore as there is a certain someone there who likes to make my life hell LOL. And as i havent been for the last month, i will see how i go doing it at home. It's more convienent for me and saves me alot of petrol!! If i get too lazy and stuff (feel free to give me a kick up the bum!) i will start going back. Also you are lighter in the mornings:D Wahey! Need all the help i can get :D

Ah so already... well done for not giving into the food!!! Like i said, you know where i am anytime. :)xxxx
