Sarah's Target & 10K Mission

Hey lovely you okay? :) xxxx

Oh girls, I've fallen off the flippin' wagon again! I just can't get my head in the zone! It doesn't help that we're a bit brassic 'til pay day so fast days are a bit out of the question as I don't particularly want to go and do another shop if I can help it.

Was in training all day yesterday so had a mini egg cake and two vienesse whirls then fish fingers for tea (with SW friendly sweet potato fries).

Trying again today with a green day:
B - Muller Greek (1/2), raspberries, brekkie biccies (HEXb1)
L - Spicy parsnip soup with crispbread (1/2 HEXB2) and 2 light cheese triangles (1/2 HEXA1)
D - Quorn chilli with rice topped with 2 syns light creme fraiche and HEXA2 cheddar served with a big ol' salad!
Snacks - popcorn (5), banana

Already getting super excited about the weekend and think that's pulling me off track instead of trying pre-damage limitation. I don't know what's the matter with me. I know I can do it, but I just don't seem to be in the right place at the mo. Trying not to give myself too much of a hard time as there's no point. I know that worrying about money doesn't help with my eating - it's one of those weird triggers that makes me treat myself. It's not like we're on the breadline, we've just spent a lot on lovely new things for the house and our trip to China might be off the agenda because it's gonna cost twice as much as we thought. I will feel so awful if we have to let his little sister down... Anyway, enough negativity! It's hump day, the weather forecast is super for the weekend and I'm WFH again tomorrow. Happy flippin' days!

I completely get it about being skint on the leadup to pay day - i think a lot of people are! And you two, like us, treat yourself to some lovely things in the month so its not as if you are skint but never get to do anything fun. So don't worry about money, stress is such a waste of time :)

Food sounds fine. If you're not in the zone then just cut out proper naughties like chocolate and eat as well as you can rather than worrying about sw. Just have a balanced meal of mainly veg, then meat then carbs and you shouldnt put any weight on :)

xxxx

It doesn't help that all the stupid naughty things are both cheap and convenient! If I'm starving and on a budget and I stroll into sainos you can guarantee it's a whole pack of triple choc chunk fresh cookies for £1 that's going to fill me up and make me feel better (at least for an hour before I feel sick) compare to a bag of salad for £1.50!!
It's crazy!

I can completely understand this though Sarah...looking back on the last few months And comparing to what I was like this time last year, something just seems to have switched off in my head...the short term yum is more important than the longer term goal and I'm all about living in the moment (ie making the most of the naughties) instead of showing some willpower and appreciating the less tangible but more long term things like looking at photos of parties or weddings and feeling good or slim and proud of myself!

I've no idea what to suggest in terms of a kickstart (I'm attempting and have planned a fish week, and it will be a minor miracle if I complete it within weekly syns too)...the only thing I can think of is a small or short term goal. One week or one pound... Or even one day where you don't give in to the biccies or whatever's on offer?! I'm no expert, but I find breaking down the task in hand always seems to make it a little more doable....that's if you even still want to do it...and I don't mean that in a negative way....do you still want to hit your original target or have you found that where you are allows you to feel good and still make the most of the fun times!?

I reckon reassess what you want and where you want to be...figure out if there's a date or event or a timescale in mind and break it down into manageable chunks....haha and when I fall back off the wagon I'm just going to come to your thread and read my own advice! :) xxx

Hello gorgeous ones!

Ging - your post really did make me have a good old reflect on things last night. I really REALLY do want to get to target. Or at least back to 10st (ideally a whisker under!!), but there are so many things going on at the moment, I think I'm only giving it 50%. I don't feel too horrendous where I am now (with clothes on, at least!) - I've got size 10 jeans on today. I'm still almost 2st less than where I was 2 years ago and I'm proud that I've kept it off for so long despite lots of celebrating and stuff.

My next big motivation will be our friends' wedding which is likely to be December (so hen in late Oct/early Nov), which does give me plenty of time to shift this final stone. Stacey (the bride to be) has just lost a stone on SW and it looking awesome and I know I want to be in a size 10 dress by then. I'm going to give myself April and May to be good where I can but relax the reins and not put pressure on myself. We've then not got much going on in June and July so that's when I'm going to really knuckle down.

Had a good chat with Dave about money last night too and have decided we are going to go to China after all. We really don't want to let his little sister down and it's a once in a lifetime thing, so if it maxes out the credit cards for a bit then so bet it. Just gonna do a week to keep the hotel costs down although the food over there is super cheaps so hopefully we won't need too much spending money. So yep, it's on. Whoop whoop!!

Working on EE for today while I'm WFH:
B - Muller Greek (1/2) and brekkie biccies (HEXB)
L - carrot and coriander soup
D - Fish pie (HEXA) with broccoli, peas and green beans
Snacks - banana and some synnage TBC

Happy Thursdays lovely ladies - hope it's sunny where you are xxx

Morning gorgeous, I can't add anything more to what Ging has already said (what a mighty fine post that was!) But just can just say how fab you look in that playsuit, you are defo far better off now than 2 years ago and you know when its crunch time you can do it. So less beating yourself up please :)

China... dead jel! How amazing. The boy and I want to go there. When/where fir your visit?

Have a lovely day WFH xxx

That sounds like a really sensible approach to things :) and woooohooooo about China :D xxxx

Where would I be without you guys? Honestly - you are all so fab.

Minks - we are hopefully flying to Shanghai on 17th May then getting the bullet train to Nanjing, where Dave's little sis is studying and staying there for 6 days. Managed to get an amazing 5* hotel which Dave's dad and step mum stayed in when they visited last month for a really good price through work so that's good :) Just need to get visas sorted now - must get Dave to get some passport photos done today!

xx

Wow - epic postage from Ging there! I may print that bad boy out and frame it on my bathroom wall! (you may think I'm joking but the thought has seriously crossed my mind... ;))

I think in the grand scheme of things with everything going on, you've done epically well! I think even the fact that you're still linking on here despite not being 100% does a lot to keep you focused subconsciously so that you don't completely fall off the wagon and gain lots and lots - but more kind of maintain?! If that makes sense!

You have some goals for the future and they're in a really reasonable timeframe as not to get too stressed about it all and still enjoy life!

And.. China! Wooooo!! I felt a bit sad the other day when you said you might not be able to go so feeling delighted for you that you've found a way - how exciting!! xx

Just emailed Sophie (little sis) to say when we have reserved the flights for and she's so excited! I was gutted when I thought we couldn't go and really we shouldn't, but life is for living isn't it, so sod it!!

Have just counted that it's 7 weeks and that's got me thinking - I know I can do a lot in 7 weeks! Although April has a few bits in the diary, after the next week or so, it starts to quieten down a bit so maybe I can sort myself out by China! The cogs in my little brain are starting to tick and that can't be a bad thing! xx

Ahh I'm thrilled about China!! Shanghai is amazeballs! Life is for living afterall and sounds like Sophie is super super excited! How long is she there studying for?!

Are you excited for your amazing food this weekend?! I'm jel! Defo want a full run down of the menu!! Xx

She went to China just after my birthday last year (mid-August) and comes back home in July. She's such a tiny little poppet...she's so brave to have gone out there! She's alredy counting down 'til we arrive, bless her. I think it's looking like we will have a day in China and then the rest of the time in Nanjing, simply because of trying to fit in with Sophie's uni timetable, but either way, it will be awesome.

Dinner was on plan last night but I did have a few naughties (chocolate mints etc.).

We spun our cover story for Mum's surprise meal last night and she's totally fallen for it! I love it when a plan comes together! And I have a new dress to wear which is lush...and was only £16 in the sale in Tesco. Get in! :D

Dave's out tonight so not sure what I'm going to get up to. Should probably hoover and do some washing but might just veg in front of some very girly movies with some sort of takeaway...have a real hankering for Indian so might take a leaf out of your book, Ging and get myself a Dansak. Nom!

Lots of food pics to follow over the weekend, I promise! xx

It's so inspiring when people have the guts to study abroad, especially somewhere like China! Wow! She sounds so excited, which is lovely, and you'll have an amazing time. When is it you go?

Ooh what was your cover story?!

Exciting times lovely girl :) xxxx.

Dave has just thrown a spanner in the works because he can't have the week we'd planned off work! But still, it will be some time in May! lol

The cover story for Mum is that Dave's been invited to a cycling-related charity dinner at a local golf club and there were some spare places so Mum and Dad can come too. We've told her it's dressy, but not black tie, so she can have the right outfit and the golf club is about two miles from the hotel where we're actually going so we can keep up the charade until right at the last minute! Yay! xx

Hope the timing gets sorted!

That's a wonderful cover story - how clever! Oh she will be absolutely delighted :) xxxx

Ah yes, food for today:

B - Muller Greek (1/2) - these are SO much nicer than Muller Lights - I'm a total convert!
L - Carrot & Coriander soup with 1/2 HEXB crispbread and 1/2 HEXA light cheese triangles
D - TBC but takeaway is likely. Either a small chish and fips for a curry
Snacks - banana...

xx

Ok girls, here we go! Mum was speechless when she realised we were going to The Pass - loved it! And the food was beyond incredible. Food porn follows! ;) xxx
