Is there anyone else out there who's scales have taken over their life?
Do you get up in the morning a race to the bathroom to see if you've lost weight since yesterday? I know I do.
I have been dieting for the past year and even after all this time, knowing the diet works and the weight is dropping I cannot help myself from just checking! It's a silly obssession, an addiction that moves me away from the real goal - to be healthy, to lose the excess fat and to get off the chair and move more.
So my challenge is to put the scales away and just concentrate on the diet, on getting healthy and doing what I already know works. The scales will be coming back out on the 14th December.
One month without scales. Is anyone else out there ready to fight their addiction with me? It doesn't have to be for the whole month, sometimes just ignoring the beguiling little numerical soothsayers for a single day can be a challenge enough (that's speaking from personal experience
)
It's going to be tough, but we're strong enough to diet and resist those naughty foods so we can resist the siren call of the scales.
-Thanks to canarybird for prompting me to make this a challenge.
