Setanti's Progress - Year 2

Hi gang! :D

Sorry for going quiet but I'm really busy at both work and home at the minute! :)

I've been promising Mrs Steve that I'll get the house sorted and decorated for years. Now that summer's over (not that it really started up here) I'm getting stuck in.

Had to get the front room sorted first so that Jean can watch her soaps in comfort when she gets home from work. I'm eating well, and I'll check in as often as I can. It's probably going to be first thing when I get into work for a while.

Glad to hear you're doing well Steve.
You're getting your priorities right, Mrs Steve comes first ;)

Morning Steve, these damned women are so time consuming aren't they mate. :)

Good to hear from you however briefly it might be... could you have a word with my husband pls... I've been wanting to get on with the decorating since we moved in..... 6 years ago!

Thanks all! The good thing is we're out of cash for what we want to do this month, so I get a few days off after weekend until pay day again! :D

Not been running, Zim. Been too tired in a morning for that!

On the grounds of solidarity, no! :D
Just 'cos I caved in there's no reason to expect it to become a species trait! ;)

Aw you're a big softie really :)
My OH is a DIY Disaster. It took me 2 years to persuade him to put a second coat of paint on the bathroom walls and have had a chest of drawers waiting to be put together for 3 years! He says I did such a good job of putting the first one together I should crack on and do it myself!

I just don't do it, seems wrong to me to put a tradesman out of work. I'm happy doing my bit for the economy. ;)

And I would quite happily STOP my DH from doing DIY as it either ends up a bit of a shhhhh say it quietly disaster or he leaves it half finished (ie painted bathroom but not the bit behind the radiator) .......
:sigh:

LOL - my OH is trying to pursuade me that I need a new kitchen cos she hates the old one, am trying to resist as we cannot really afford it but that never stops her usually, will mean I have tiling to do afterwards, and painting etc, etc, etc.

Welcome back Steve - we have missed you!

Bren xx

That would be me Flutter, all the more reason to get a tradesman in. :)

Hahaha, I do all my own stuff. Decorating (when I'm pushed), DIY, car and bike maintenance etc. I grew up with bits of cars all over the house and I now see most things as just some form of machine. :)

My brother's the complete opposite, a disappointment to my scruffy overall-clad dad! :D

Morning Steve, my FIL was like that, ran his own plastic extrusion factory, but loved messing about with cars and bike's as a hobby.

Hi Steve glad your ok,hope the decorating is going well.
My hubby is a builder so takes forever to get things done and he won't get anyone else in because he can do it himself,we have not had a sitting room since the end of may because he is replacing the wooden floor with reclaimed floorboards and decorating.Fingers crossed for xmas lol.

LOL Lorna,

One of my mates is a builder, you should hear his wife go off on him. LMAO.

Lol at all the comments! I gave up and eventually got a builder in for the bigger jobs. He has been great, a real perfectionist, so will have him back again for the next job (once I've replenished the bank account ouch!)

Morning all! :)

Well we're pretty much done except for the tidying up for now. :)

Annoyingly, I managed to put 0.8lb on this week. :(

Back to strict '72. No coffee for me again and I'll leave the cream out for another week as well. When I lost the 4lb the other week I had neither coffee nor cream.

Hope you're all well, and I'll catch up on some threads now. :)

Morning Steve, I'll be frank here mate, Atkins s'72 was the only thing that worked for me, if I strayed even the tiniest bit, it didn't work. I suspect if I was starting Atkins now, I'd think it was rubbish because I wouldn't lose any weight.

Very useful insight, thanks Jim.
Watch this space! :D
