This will sound ridiculous of you're still on TFR (all you wanna do is get down to target weight) but in maintenance a new issue arises for some of us: being "skinny fat"!
U know after you've lost lots of weight now you seem to become so body-aware? Well, this is where I am, and I am very conscious of this layer of fat around my upper arms, thighs and abs. Now, on the surface of it, it seems I am sorta "OK" -size 12, BMI 23.5, but my body fat is 33%!
Here's a table of body fat norms:
Normal -female: 22-25%, male:15-18%
Overfat -female: 29-35%, male:20-25%
Obese -female:35%, male:25+%
I really want to get my fat down to at most 25%. I don't want to be 'skinny fat' any longer!
Anyone else found this?
PS: strategies for me include resistance training and toning (and I'd better not kid myself, I really need to eat healthily...)
