Slimming at home....food diary to help keep me on track (with photos)

Wednesday 2nd July

B - none just didn't have time

S - grapes

L - tomato and basil soup (from m&s need to check syns) small wholemeal roll (3 syns)

S - grapes

D - chicken enchiladas (1 syn) potato wedges and grapes

Also had some of the kids pizza (3 syns)

S - 4 ryvita (HEB) flora light (3 syns) bovril. Oh and a few bits of a curly wurly ( 2 syns)

Total syns - about 15

Exercise - none :(

Well, I suppose the day wasn't too bad but I don't feel that I had enough fruit and veg and a little disappointed that I didn't manage to fit in any exercise but my day has been so busy, I literally haven't stopped! I had work then had to rush back to see my sons sports day, get home and do dinner then go to my daughters brownie sports day and the go back to work this evening!

I am please that I chose quite a healthy option while eating out at lunch time and I even left the butter and the white roll that came with my soup!!

Hopefully tomorrow I will get in more fruit and veg oh and water don't feel I drank enough today! ( water that is, not alcohol) ;)

Thursday 3rd July

Ok so today was not the best day but I'm happy as I made the choices I made, I'm looking at this as me trying to get fit and healthy and to that I still need a social life and if I go out I have what I choose to have, sometimes that will be a healthy choice and sometimes not! The main thing is that I can get straight back on it!

B - banana

S - pineapple

L - had a pub lunch, chicken and chorizo ciabatta and 2 pints of cider (no idea of syns)

S - grapes and curly wurly (6 syns)

D - cheesey new potatoes (HEA) Alcohol - 1 x cider & 2x white wine (18syns)

Exercise - none :(

Total syns - well over

Friday 4th July

Right back on it today! Need to try and do a bit of cooking and snack preparing today. Made some sw sweets the other day, they went down well with all the family so they didn't last long, so need to make some more of them today! Might also make some soup.

Managed to get up early this morning so that I can defo fit in breakfast today!

Want to try and fit in some exercise but I'll have to see on that one!
 
Saturday 5th July

Ok so proper back on it today! Wasn't the best yesterday in the end!!

B - hula hoops (omg bad start I know but I was starving when I woke up and they were just sat there looking at me)!

L - so I haven't been that great the last couple of days and I had a bad start and I really fancied a costa cooler and a subway!! The my husband reminded me how well I did last week and how much I want to loose weight so, I made my own!! :)

I made a cooler with sugar free squash and ice, ( it wasn't as good as Costa but it was ok, could probably improve it, and I made my own "subway" chicken tikka flat bread! Mmmm it was good!

D - not so good again! Though I suppose I had a lot less than I usually would! I had 2 pieces of garlic bread, 3 cheese sticks, chicken skewers and cheese and sundried tomato on crostini! And washed that down with 2 ciders and 2 glasses of wine! Too many syns

Right that's it, bad days out my system, back on it!!

Right need to get back on track, annoyed that I went off track but getting back on it today!!

Suppose I better go and weigh in, not looking forward to that!!

We'll I know I didn't get back on track for very long at all, but I'm back on it now! I will do this, this time!

My goal is to have lost 2 stone by the 18th December.

So today:

B - bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, sausage and baked beans.

S - s/w rice pudding

L - mug shot and frozen grapes

S - salted popcorn ( syns) & diet coke

D - sausage and bean bake (3 syns), sweetcorn
 
So I have been shopping and brought tons of fruit and veg, froze lots of grapes, made some rice pudding, jelly sweets and a sausage and bean bake.

I will also get a salad ready for tomorrow and potato salad.

Need to stay on this!
 
Hi Tracey. I went off it for a few weeks too, what with holidays, staff-room cakes/chocolates, etc but, in the end, I just felt really fed up with myself so, a week last Friday, I started in earnest again. Brilliant first weigh-in last Friday - lost 4.5 pounds and have been really good this week, so far. Unfortunately, I'm taking my MIL for a run out tomorrow and we always have to do afternoon tea! Then, on Friday (luckily, after I've weighed myself in the morning) I'm meeting up with some of my friends from work for a pub lunch! Normally, I wouldn't care too much but, after such a good start, I care very much this time!Oh, yes! In two weeks time, my partner and I are taking his Mum away for 3 nights so there'll be no chance of being good then!!

Must admit though, Tracey, I tend to think a bit like you. Yes, we're trying to lose weight and follow a healthier way of eating but, you also need to socialise and, yes, I know there are Flexi-Syns but usually, tbh, I think, I'm eating out so ...... tough! Sigh! Never mind - we know how to put things right again, once the damage is done. I never seem to be able to immediately get back on it again though. It usually takes me a few weeks so then, the damage is worse!! :O

Oh, well, I hope you're successful at sticking to the straight and narrow again now, Tracey! :)

We'll I have been logging on and filling out my food diary, but I have been very good, honestly!, just been really busy and left it too late and now I can't remember everything I have eaten but from now on I will try to start adding to my diary again.

So I'm going to do some planning and get some snacks and meals ready today. I have found that having some s/w rice pudding in the fridge is a good idea, I also keep "jelly sweets", frozen grapes and soup in there which helps when I feel like picking!!

We are going on a picnic tomorrow in a big park so that will be great body magic. Going to get all snacks and lunch prepared today so I don't get hungry. Think I'm going to make a pasta, potato salad, and feta salad then take lots of fruit to snack on. I'm making a chilli tonight and may try the 'cauliflower' garlic bread to go with it, dunno what that will taste like?! Anyone tried it? If it's nice make take some of that with us tomorrow too.

Hi Tracey. Never even heard of cauliflower garlic bread!! You'll have to let us know what it was like. Can't even imagine it! :D

Well, after that brilliant first week and only having a toasted teacake when I went out with the MIL, so didn't think that was too bad, I've put 1lb back ON this week! It drives me mad, honestly! Still going to stick to it though.

Sounds like you're doing some good planning ahead, especially where the picnic's concerned! Hope the weather was kind to you. :) Good luck for the coming week, with the diet!

B - tomatoes on toast (h/e b)

S - banana

L - picnic - feta cheese salad (h/e a), pasta, potato salad, grapes. Free salad dressing.

S - apple

D - pasta, s/w rice pudding with jam (1.5 syns) and water melon

Drinks - water, sugar free squash and black coffee.

Exercise - lots and lots of walking

Total Syns - 1.5
 
Oh kathy it's so frustrating when that happens, hopefully it will all come off this week!! Sometimes it just happens like that but it is heartbreaking after all the effort you put in isn't it!! I like that you are still sticking with it - that's the attitude!

Monday

Well I had a lovely day out yesterday with the family, lots of body magic involved, walking round a huge park all day. Very good with the diet too! I do find that I need to do a lot of planning and pre organising but that means that I then stick to it. Can't wait to see if I have good results in my first week tomorrow, just hope I get a loss!!

Good luck for WI, Tracey! :) Yes, I write the meals/food I eat down, mainly so I have a reference point for if I get stuck for things to eat at any time. I don't do a food diary on here though.

Oh, well! We're having pan-fried salmon fillets with new potatoes and peas tonight. Must admit, it's one of my favourite meals and so easy too. Only trouble is, the house stinks of fish the next morning, no matter how quickly we wash up afterwards! Doesn't matter for me, as I have no sense of smell anymore but OH hates it! :D

Well it's carnival day here today so need to organised and be careful what I eat while I'm out!

D - jacket potato, baked beans, cheese (h/e B), salad and s/w rice pudding

S - Cadbury highlights (2 syns)

Total syns - 5

Exercise - lots of walking
