Small steps - mini targets

My next mini target is to lose 2 lb to get into the next stone down

And then by losing another 6 lb will have lost 3 st.

Anyone else got a mini target?

Hiya everyone,

Just spotted this thread and this is one of my biggest problems, when i sit and think about how much i have to lose i feel really downhearted and often think i don't know why you kid yourself coz your never get to your goal weight. So after seeing my dietician this week she noticed that this was a problem of mine and told me to break it down into small chunks so when i came across this thread i was like BINGO just what i need.

So if you guys don't mind i would like to join you all.

My First Mini Goal is to get into the 17stone something. ( only have 1 and a half pounds to go so will make a second mini goal )

Lose 8lbs in the month on April bringing me to around 17.7 stone
 
I think those of us who have a lot to lose could not cope with trying to see the whole picture and so have to take it in tiny steps. But we will still get there in the end.

Hi I saw this sub forum and had to come in. I have 9 1/2 stone to lose but if I think of it like that its just so overwhelming. So I'm going for my 10% first which will be to get me to 16st 6lb. I've lost 3lb so only 26lb to go. Then I'm going to take it a stone at a time.
 
Just saw this thread and had to reply. I too am in need of loosing quite a large amount. I was 21st 7lb but am currently down to 19st 4lb. I've found that having little targets really helps.

My first was to get under 21st. Then to loose my first stone and get to 20st 7lb, then to get under 20st, then get to the point where I'd lost 2st. So each 'landmark' so to speak, has been half a stone, which has seemed much more achievable to me. Of course there have been off days, and times when I've been gutted that I've gone back up by a few lbs, but on the whole it seems to be working. My next goal is to get under 19st, so I have 4lb to loose. I have no set time, I don't force myself to be rid of it by any certain date, as I feel that if I did, then I'd feel that I was failing, so I just keep going until I do loose it, then rejoice at having done so. I'm still undecided about what my goal weight should be. 'Experts' say I should weigh 10st 7lb for my 5ft 7in height, but I can't ever see me reaching that. If I can get down to 14st I'd be happy, and then if I can keep going, I'd obviously be happier still. What has made me particularly happy, is being able to wear a bra again. I simply couldn't find anything in a 50B. Oh a few 'over the shoulder boulder holders', but nothing like I wanted, which was just a simple t-shirt bra. Now I have managed to buy one in Asda for £4 and can give up looking at all the overpriced and still unattractive ones from specialist manufacturers.

Hoping to be able to give and receive some encouragement here in the future :)
 
Hi guys,

I've got over 9 stone to lose but my first 'mini' target was to lose half a stone (which I managed this week! yey!) so onwards and upwards to my next mini goal of losing a stone. I think the smaller little goals keep you realistic and also help you feel like you've achieved something measurable rather than just losing 'x' pounds out of millions!

I have 8 and a half stone to lose, and think the idea of mini goals is great.

I didn't set any at first, as just losing weight was enough, but then set my first goal to lose 2 stone, which I have done. My next goal is to get into the 15 stones which I am about 7lb away from

I'm on lipotrim which can be hard at times but its great to see results quickly, and then i plan to go on a low carb diet at the end of this, as i have discovered all about carbohydrate addiction which is definitely my problem.

Good luck to everyone with their mini goals, how great that we all have the determination to keep going and support one another :p:D
 
I think my first goal is to get into double figures in kilos - was 105 at last weigh in so 6 kilos to 99 which is just over another 13lbs on top of the 9lbs already gone. Hope to do it in the next couple of weeks.

I like the concept of min goals and mine is 15/10 so I can say ' I have 5 stone to go' and for today, though its raining I want to walk, work out and take something for my bloatedness, not stay at home and feel sorry for myself.

I'm doing mini targets otherwise the end looks far too daunting. Starting with 7lbs in total, then 1 stone in total, then 10% and so on......
 
I have been using mini targets since the beginning of this diet and it really helps because each goal is not too far away and does not seem unachievable. If I looked at the bigger picture I would struggle at times. So with 3.5 stone down my next mini target is 4 stone lost. Weigh-in tonight!
 
Another 4lbs tonight so my next mini-target is only 3lbs away.
 
My next 'mini' target is 3lb away. :)
