Smokes- starting again.

Thanks for the hugs guys, but I really don't know what is wrong with me this week! :sigh:
Tuesday I was just in a foul mood, lots of little things happened that put me in a bad mood. Had to go to supermarket and ended up saying to OH I really can't be bothered to cook so we grabbed a curry meal for 2! I had been planning to make a fish pie and had even been shopping for the fish on Monday! :break_diet:
Wednesday we often go to a bikers night if its not raining, there is normally a BBQ there or we grab something on the way home. I did think about having something quick when I got home (had about half hour before OH got home and we'd head off) but thinking was as far as it got! So fishcake and chips from chippy on the way home!
Today - woke up feeling shattered and in a really couldn't be bothered mood, didn't make any lunch for work so had chips at work!
There's also been goodies at work - yes I could say no and resist but when everybody else is eating, and the patients have brought it in to say thank you don't I deserve to have some?
It's my last week on placement for my nursing course and whilst its not really an excuse I guess I've been focusing on getting everything signed off. Once it was all signed off I just really feel like I can not be bothered!! Its been a bit of a boring placement and motivation has completely gone!
Am hoping that once placement is over (last shift tomorrow) I have 8 weeks off so can get motivated and get back on track.

Fingers crossed Smokes - it's so difficult for you with all that going on. Maybe you just needed this time to tick over, and then you can focus while you have some time off?
Sorry your placement hasn't been good. Do you have choice over your next one? Hope things improve for you hon - keep in touch x

Hi Giblet - Thanks!
No we don't get any choice on our placement! We have to have a good excuse to try and change and we can only really do that before placement starts, so if you don't know it's going to be crap its not much good!
It was an ok placement, but was very specialised, and I do wonder if I'll use much of what I've learnt which feels like a waste of 12 weeks. It was very hard to get some skills signed off cos they just didn't do them and you have to have all skills signed off to pass the year!! Managed to get all my paperwork submitted today so its all over now. Will be having a few drinks tomorrow to celebrate.
Am hoping I can get properly on track on Monday.

Hi Smokes. Hope you're feeling better now your placement is finished.

I remember as a student nurse over 20 years ago how frustrating it was trying to complete skills assignments on a ward that doesn't have need for them

One of my placements was awful  It was a GI ward and by the time my stint was up I could distinguish a dozen causes of diarrohea just from the smell :sick0019: :sign0137:

Enjoy your weekend honey, but ensure you get prepared to start afresh Monday morning or I'll be behind you :asskick::whip: This is your first warning so be afraid.........be very afraid :rotflmao:

Take care, JJ x

Thank you JJ! Get that whip ready!! :slap:
This placement was ophthalmology! I'm never going to need such detailed information on the eye again!! This placement has taught me I don't want to work there!!! Especially in the outpatients department!!
Didn't know you were a nurse JJ! I'll be bothering you more now!!
Diet still crap - a bottle of pink bubbly drunk tonight!! I had reason to celebrate though with the end of my first year passed with flying colours and I also passed my motorcycle theory test today!! :character00201:

Congratulations! What great news :) a bottle of pink bubbly isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy yourself and tomorrow is another day. Sending hugs x

Didn't know you were a nurse JJ! I'll be bothering you more now!!

Sorry to disappoint Smokes but I gave up nursing many years ago. I couldn't do that and be a carer as well. As my son always comes first, the kiddies had to be left behind:cry: It is a shame but I was finding it extremely hard to remain detached and was making myself quite ill.

Hasn't stopped the family coming to me with every ailment ever since though :p

Hope your 2nd year is much better for you :D Oh and congratulations on the theory test.

OMG!!
Something happened today that hasn't happened for a long time if ever!
I turned down a piece of cake today!!! :angel09:
I went round to my mum and dads as they've been in Wales for a couple of weeks and were back today, I had a cup of tea but said no to the cake!! Must admit I felt a bit panicky when I heard they had cake! I'd been good all day and was wanting to get back on track this week and I just knew if I said yes I'd ruin the whole week (again!). I did argue with myself for a bit about if I only have a small piece it'd probably be in my syn allowance if I didn't have anymore syns. But then I thought to myself am I actually hungry - no, so I'd only be having the cake just beacuse. So I said no!! :party0011:
So I am back on track this week!
Today's menu: Monday - Extra easy
Drinks - tea, no added sugar squash
Breakfast - banana, melon, pineapple.
Lunch - 6 ryvita wholegrain crackerbreads (HEXB) spread (2syns), 2 slices ham, carrot and an apple. Minimilk (2/3/4 syns?! I can't remember!!)
Dinner - Fish pie (salmon, cod, quark laughing cow cheese and normal cheese (HEXA), broccoli, mash potato) cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and SW wedges. Meringue, vanilla muller mixed with quark, and blueberries, strawberries and raspberries for pud.

I don't think I will be having anything before bed as feeling nice and full, though may have a hot chocolate which will be within my syn allowance. :)

I thought I better jump on the Wii today to see what it was saying weight wise as it was 8 days since I'd last weighed myself. So I did and it said I'd lost 4lbs!! So even though I wasn't that great last week looks like I didn't do too much damage! :D
I know the Wii isn't that accurate but my scales aren't digital so its really hard to see wht exact weight you are, they were only cheap too.
If I stick to doing it alone at home I might go to Boots once a month or something for an accurate weight but thought the wii is a good way of keeping a tabs on rough loses and gains.
Am feeling motivated to stay on track this week! Think refusing that cake yesterday gave me some power!! :superwoman:
Tuesday (extra Easy)
Breakfast - melon, pineapple, strawberries
Snack - muller yoghurt
Lunch - veg soup - homemade so all free and mainly speed and superspeed foods veg! Will probably have it with 6 wholemeal crackerbreads as a HEB
Dinner - steak, corn on the cob with spread (2syns), wedges, and mixed veg (broc, cauli, carrots)
Will probably have a meringue (3.5syns (?)) and yoghurt and berries
Will update later if it changes at all!!!
Thinking of trying a green day tomorrow!!

Brilliant Smokes!! And well done on the refusing the dreaded cake!! So good but so bad!! xx

Well done on refusing the cake and on a fabulous loss, Smokes.
You should be proud of yourself :girlpower:

Thanks guys!!
I am quite proud!
And I was thinking about how one small thing can make or break your week. well it does for me anyway. I just know if I'd had that piece of cake the rest of week I'd be having stuff and not counting it and would give up thinking I've already blown this week whereas instead by refusing it I'm more determined to stay on track. I really am an all or nothing girl!!
Another day on plan - breakfast - melon, pineapple, strawberries. Snack - muller yughurt. Lunch - vegetable soup (homemade) crackerbreads (HEB). Snack - apple. Dinner - steak, corn on cob, broccoli, SW Wedges, meringue (3.5syns), yghurt and berries for pud.
So I still need to have my HEA. Might have a hot choccie later and make it quite milky (2.5syns) so I'll be on 6 syns for the day!!

Thought I 'd give a green day a go as I've only ever really done extra easy.
Breakfast - melon, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries
Snack/early lunch - muesli (HEB) and milk (HEA)
Late lunch - pasta, tomato, cucumber, 2 x laughing cow extra light cheese (part HEXA)
Snack - muller toffee yoghurt.
Dinner - potato and spring onion cakes, baked beans, fried egg.
Just munching on some Pink and whites, will have 3 so that will be 7.5 syns

Have had another day of saying no!! Went to see OH at lunch and he'd saved me half a large cookie but I politely said no - bless him!!
Also wednesdays we tend to go to a bikers night and have got into habit of either grabbing fish and chips on way home or having the burgers/hot dogs provided at the meet. I was gonna do tea for just before we go but I had my lunch a lot later than expected so I really wasn't hungry, so I did the OH a snack and we headed to the bike meet. I knew I had the potato cakes made ready in the fridge so wanted to resist the burger and have them. Typically when we got there my mum and dad were sat at a table right near to the burger stall!! It smelt so good!! Mum offered to get us one and I said no I was ok. And because I said no my OH did too!! I did say he could have one if he wanted but he didn't!!!
But from this I have decided I want my sense of smell removed!!! I'm sure that smell can be blamed for us eating a lot of things when we're not even hungry!! Those burgers really smelt nice and made me think I was hungry when I knew I wasn't!!! Just glad my will power had managed to stick with me on th back of the bike!!!

Well done chick, I reckon when you learn to say no to these temptations then you have really got the plan clicked in your head. xx

Slapped wrist for me!! Until I got into bed last night I totally forgot about the Malibu and diet coke I had at the pub the bike meet was at!!! Even when I was eating the pink and whites I thought "Oooo I can have 3 cos I've not had any syns today"!!!! Still only 2.5syns so within my daily allowance but this is what I'm good at!! "Forgetting" syns!!!
Today has been ok, did an agency shift today to try and earn some pennies. Hadn't really prepared/thought about tea, and though I didn't have a 1/3 superfree I stuck to plan.
Breakfast - banana, muller yoghurt
Snack - banana
Lunch - pasta, tuna, tomato, cucumber. Clementine
Snack - apple
Dinner - quorn sausages and burgers, spaghetti, slice wholemeal bread with spread (2syns)

So only 2 syns so far, HEXA used up on milk in tea and a hot choccie later (2.5syns) so 4.5 syns. Might treat myself to some Mikado's, just need to remember to count them!!!

Had 8 Mikados last night so 4 syns. So a daily syn total of 8.5.
Am feeling hungry today! And still umming and ahhing about what to eat today! Weekends are when I need to be really strict with myself as I seem to easily go off track!
Have started off well with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and a muller for brekkie.
But I am now almost putting off going into kitchen for lunch as I don''t know what to eat!!!!

Afternoon smokes

well done on the loss

Well done on resisting cakes, burgers and allsorts . I think burger places should be banned from doing fried onions ;)-its THAT smell that gets me, I don't like burgers unless they are home made -but fried onions  - thats probably why I eat so many roast onions :p,,, ooohh and don't get me started on folks walking around the UK with chips -its not the chips, but the smell of the vinegar that gets me . Im ok out here as they only do fries not chippy chips and they don't do vinegar :happy036:..
I hate those days when you can't decide what you want to eat -because you can work your way through half the fridge whilst trying to track down that illusive "thing" that you want :giggle:
A big thumbs up to OH too for supporting you and refusing a burger -makes life much easier when they are on board doesn't it :D
right enough :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah: from me..
Keep up the great work and have a lovely day

I know what you mean about vinegar on chips capricorn!! Smells so good and makes me feel so hungry!!!
Today hasn't been too bad seeing as I was expecting it to b awful as didn't know what I wanted!!!
Breakfast - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and a muller yoghurt
Lunch - jacket potato, tuna, tomato and cucumber (2syns for spread)
Snack - banana, fibre plus bar (HEXB)
Dinner - fish cakes (made by me!! cod, salmon, mash, spring onion, laughing cow triangle) SW wedges, frozen mixed veg. Pudding - jelly ?? 2.5syns I can't remember? Anybody know how many syns in a Hartleys no added sugar jelly (115g))

I was going to have tuna with cracker bread at lunch but changed my mind to save myself the HEB as I was feeling peckish.
Am now enjoying a vodka and diet lemonade! (2.5syns)
So 7 syns in total today so far (if jelly is correct!!)
Realised today that the only thing I miss about not going to group is not having the password to access the syns online so I can quickly look things up!
