Started 25 Jan 11 - 5.5 stone to lose by December

Hi all. I've 'started' VLCDs many times before but usually don't get past the first day. I keep saying to myself 'it's ok, start tomorrow'. Well I don't know about you but I just realised tomorrow never comes. Someone suggested I do a diary and as I need to remain focused I thought it was a great idea.
I have a niece who is also overweight, despite the fact she grew up on another continent. I would love to show her that if I can lose weight maybe she can too. She's an early teen so it's important she has a healthy body image. I don't want to make her weight an issue.
Having been overweight most of my life, I can remember the school taunts and rejections. I've never felt 'enough' and although I know this diet isn't going to magically transform me into an entirely different person emotionally, it'll definitely go some way towards building my self confidence.
So I've completed Day 1 and was surprised at how much resolve I had.
I know they say don't do it, but I've been raiding my charity shop finding size 10 and 12 designer clothes. A lot of them are old 'uniforms' the staff have to wear at the designer shops in White City shopping centre. £200 suits go for under £10. I'm hoping it's the incentive I need.
