Starting again. 7 weeks until Christmas!!!

Nikki

Missed your post Hun. I am so sorry, really hope you start to feel better soon. Sending big hugs xxx

Afternoon ladies,

Well thank goodness you sound a little more upbeat today, Becca . Well done on your 1/2 lb off...nearer and nearer to that final goal !!
Forgot to say last night that we always advised Oil of Evening Primrose capsules in high doses post hysterectomy. It doesn't interfere with your prescribed meds and helps you feel more like your old self. It takes about 6 weeks to kick in but its well worth the wait.
When is your Mum and Dad due home? That'll be a massive boost for you.

Hope you're feeling better Nikki, just make sure you drink plenty whilst you're taking the antibiotics. Christmas is lovely when there's little ones in the house so make the most of it as they grow up before you realise it. Does the Xmas Santa barge leave from Burscough? If so I've been on a dinner barge from there and they're really good.
What are you studying at Edge Hill?

Hope you're feeling better Sue. We all have crappy days don't we, especially at this time of year. But you knit the nail on the head with your comment about this being more than a diet thread. I think we've got a good group going on here.

Wow Kim, when do you find time to draw breath over Xmas. I bet your girls are soooo excited. I wish my daughter lived closer so that I could be with the kiddies on the build up to Xmas and see them on Xmas morning

We always Skype them on Xmas day and it's so funny as they all try to show us everything at once. We have Bills Dad , my sister and our youngest son Lee this year for Xmas dinner . Then we see our eldest son Ian with Laura our grand daughter and his new family, Karen and her children Melissa and Olivia later. We usually have a big buffet day on Boxing day and everybody comes.

I managed to drag Bill around the shops today to do his Dad's Xmas shopping. His Dad is 89 and has many medical problems so we visit every day, do his shopping, cook his meals and I bring his washing home. So I usually buy his presents for everyone at Xmas but I made Bill feel guilty this year and he came with me.

Well weigh In day tomorrow so will let you know how I do.
Got my first of many Xmas meals out tomorrow, meeting up with the nurses I trained with. Can't wait. Will try to be good....Honest

Luv Ang x

No it comes to a place called Guys in Garstang :) I'm studying accountancy at uni. I'm feeling much better today thanks everyone. Ange it's so nice for you too look after your father in law I'm sure it's a great help! I'm glad everyone seems happy today! :D I'm just making mum & boyfriend an m&s tea tonight as my dads gone away for a few days. Xxxx

And don't worry Becca! It's so easy to miss posts and I'm not letting it get to me! I'm resting a little more than normal but not letting it keep me in bed! :D

It sounds like everyone is going to have a good if busy Christmas :).

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow Ange, with cleaning the windows, shopping, and putting decorations up I'm sure you've done well.

Nikki what level of accountancy are you studying? Are you specialising? I graduated as an AAT technician a few years ago and would have loved to have gone further but unfortunately there just isn't the work around to get experience. I only did the course really as I wanted to do something for myself. It was a hard 2 years but I enjoyed it.

Well, mums tree is now up. If I do say so myself it looks lovely, they have a black tree and I've used all silver decorations. Ours is traditional green and I have muted gold, bronze and deep red decorations. It will be going up on Saturday.

Thank you once again ladies for all your support. I'm definitely in agreement that this is a thread for friends and hope everyone feels they can come and talk about anything and we'll all support each other as much as we can.

Sending love and festive wishes xxxx

We're doing level 4 but were doing lots of extra modules so that if we want to go & do any of the extra cima qualifications after university we will only have to do two exams rather than ten! I'm only in my first year but were doing advanced sage this year and modules in management accounting and financial accounting. I quite like the idea of going into the police when I'm finished and working as part of fraud investigation but we shall see what comes my way! Xxx

Morning ladies

Ange a STS is ok lovely, it is frustrating sometimes but it's a good result. Unfortunately our bodies our do weird things, I can sometimes go for a few weeks in a row with a STS then the following week all of a sudden I can have an amazing loss. Enjoy your day Hun, sounds like your in for pampering, dressing up and fun :). Have a fab time.

How is everyone else today? Lesley ann how is your placement going? Nikki are you feeling better? Sue, Kim, how are you lovelies doing?

I'm feeling ok, just wish my sleeping pattern would sort itself out. I seem to be awake throughout the night the drop off around 6 am into a deep sleep so only get about 3 hours. I'm positive it's because I'm not really doing anything so I'm not getting tired. I know I could lie in but I just feel that by doing that I'm wasting a day.

Not really sure what I'm going to do today. Need a shower of course, and might pop to tesco to see if there are any magazines I haven't got yet. I usually buy essentials every month but every year at Christmas I tend to get the Christmas copy of about 4 magazines :). Other than that I'm really not sure, although think perhaps the Christmas channel mag get a few hours air time. I keep thinking that my house needs a real good clean and tidy, but my stomach has been a bit sore the last few days so think taking it easy might be better. I don't know about you ladies though but I get soooooooo frustrated sitting in what I would consider to be a mess. My mother in law and hubby have been doing bits but its never the same as when you do it yourself is it. My mum laughs at me, when I was growing up I was so messy and untidy, sometimes you wouldn't have even known I had carpet in my bedroom, but now she considers me to be house proud :).

Anyway lovely ladies, hope you all have a good day.

Speak soon xxx

Stay strong Ang, don't let the sts get you down or make you feel like its not working, it is, keep at it girl! you could well be on course for a big loss, sometimes i think weighing monthly would be fairer to ourselves (but can never keep away from the scales that long) we know you can lose it xxx have a fab night out, enjoy yourself x

Sorry to hear the golf course has been closed, maybe we could encourage you to get on the wii fit?!? i think the exercise i do plays a huge part in my weight loss, I'm a cant keep still sort of person, and struggle to sit through a film without think about all that I could be doing! I walk the girls to a from school and preschool everyday regardless of the weather, I do aerobics or run at least three times a week and horse riding at least once a week.

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

Hi :) ange I wouldn't worry about staying the same! Whenever I stay the same my mum says 'you'll lose more next week' and normally she is right! I know it's easier to excersize when it's fun so how about golf on the wii? I know I tend to go on my adult space hopper whilst I watch corrie and I'm a celeb and cos its fun I don't realise I'm doing it! I also tidy up on it! Haha it takes longer but it's quite fun! Best present my boyfriend ever got me! Becca I'm feeling a bit better now thanks :) don't feel poorly anymore just struggling to hear but I don't mind that too much cos it means I can be in my own world! I've finished uni until next Tuesday now : D

Oh that's lovely Nikki, no uni until next Tuesday! What do you have planned? Hope you are going to have a nice rest to get over your ear infection etc, glad to hear you are beginning to feel better x what's an adult space hopper!!! Is it like an exercise ball with handles? Sounds like fun!

Yeah! It's so much fun! Haha I love it and it really does give you a work out! I'm going to rest tomorrow and then Friday I have to go to a funeral with my parents then Saturday is my mums 50th party!!! Then Sunday me and my boyfriend usually take Daisy (my little girl) out for the day to the lakes or the beech for a walk then a pub lunch then Monday I usually chill :) weigh in tomorrow! I have a busy schedule up until about 7the January haha but it'll stop me munching without thinking! Xxx

Thank you! I had a rest this afternoon to get me better but now at 3.49am I still can't get to sleep! Hope everyone has a good day! Xx

Morning everyone, how was your night out Ang, hope you had a lovely time and hope after reading our posts above that you are feeling better about staying the same, please don't let it spoil this week, just look at your stats on the side of your posts! They are amazing and so inspirational.

sorry to hear about your bad night Nikki, it's awful not being able to sleep, hope you had a Good weigh in this morning, looking forward to hearing how you did.

what do you have planned today Becca? Hope you had a better nights sleep too, and are feeling a little happier, just take it a day at a time x

hope sue, Sarah and Lesley-Anne are all having good weeks.

imogen is moving from a toddler bed into a single bed today, we went out yesterday and she choose some bedding and I have just been rearranging her room ready for the bed to arrive, hope she's going to settle into it ok, otherwise I won't be getting any sleep either!

i bought some snack a jacks yesterday, couldn't believe the jumbo cheese ones were only 0.5 and 1.0 for the choc ones, thats really going to help me get me through the week. I'm having some bacon tonight am I right in saying that's its 1.5 for a standard rasher of unsmoked back bacon? (Old discovery system not pro points)

have a lovely day everyone

I don't get weighed until 6.30pm! I'm feeling strangely energetic for someone who hasn't slept! My car has broken this morning which is a shame as I'm getting a new one for Christmas so I think my car is being very selfish breaking a month before I need her to! I hope everyone is having a good day! :D xxx

Afternoon ladies,

Hope you are all well.

Oh Nikki, it's awful when you are wide awake in the middle of the night isn't it? I must admit that when it happens to me I make a cup of tea and then cant resist getting something to eat. It hasn't happened for months but when it does I always pretend the food I eat over night doesn't need to count as it's after one day ends and before the next begins !!!!

I wish I had your energy Kim, running , aerobics and horse riding !!! I've never been on a horse but it's one of the things on my "bucket" list. Not that I intend going anywhere fo a long long time yet ;-))

How are you Becca, feeling any better my love? Hope your Mum and Dad are due home soon as that will cheer you up no end.

I had a lovely evening last night. I didn't have a starter, had a pasta tomatoey main course with 1 piece of garlic bread but gave in at the pudding stage and had a vanilla slice which was yummy ;-0 I drove so only had 1 glass of wine and had saved most of my points for the evening by having point free veg soup at lunch time. So don't think I did too much damage.

I've been good today as I need some points for later when Laura comes and we bake.
The evening will be fine as I have a committee meeting at the golf club so won't have time to eat and we're not allowed to drink at the meeting .....I take the minutes so I really can't drink or I'd write gobble- de- gook !!!

My son is coming home tonight from London for a long weekend to do some Xmas shopping for all his friends and relatives up here. It saves him carrying everything home on the train on Xmas Eve. So I may not have time to post much til he's gone back home on Monday evening as he has the whole weekend planned out with shopping in Manchester, Liverpool, Southport and our local town St Helens. At least I'll build up plenty of activity points with all that walking ;-))

Good luck tonight Nikki

Speak soon my shrinking friends

Luv Ang x

Hi lovelies

How is everyone?

Glad to hear you had a nice night Ange. I think all we can do is be sensible at social events as no doubt there will be quite a lot of them over the next few weeks. There is no point in denying yourself some niceties :).

You've made me think of something Ange. If we do eat during the early hours, which days points would you allocate it to???

Don't worry if you can't post for a few days Ange, just have a lovely time wit your son and tell us all about it when you get chance.

Kim, I bet Imogen's room looks lovely. How does it feel wit her starting to grow up? Time flies I expect.

Waiting to hear how well you've done this week Nikki :).

My day has been ok. Went to the dentist this morning and then did a Christmas shop in asda, I felt a right narna, I had to ask the customer service desk for some help and a little old man came through the checkout with me, packed my bags then pushed my trolley and loaded my car up. Bless him :). The bags have stayed in the car and hubby will get them when he comes home. It took me forever though, I was so slow I just couldn't seem to get going. It was the first time I've really been out on my own though apart from a quick pop to tesco which is only a 2 min walk away. Emotion wise I'm still in that 'fat and ugly' frame of mind, do you all get those days? It's horrible isn't it. I must admit I am a natural born worrier which doesn't help as I keep panicking that the small amount I've lost will all go back o over Christmas. Hey ho, you have to enjoy life too though:).

Hope you all have a good ' rest of day'

Lots of love xxx

Thank you! Haha ange I like to think that in the night food doesn't count too haha. I've promised my daughter some chips after weight watchers tonight so I suppose I'd better indulge ;) my mum has said that I can have my new car now we just need to get my dad on board with that! I'll let you know how I've done soon! X
