Stew Recipe anyone?

Hello all!

I have one of the Schwartz beef casserole packet mixes, diced beef, onion, carrots, peas, tinned tomatoes...

Am I right in thinking I just put all this in my slow cooker and cook for around 10 hours (low? high?) I will get a scrumptious stew? :D

Anything else I should add? I'm worried it may be too watery, if so, can I thicken up with some smash?

Thanks in advance :)

Unless the packet is specifically made for slow cooker I would use half the quoted liquid. In a slow cooker there is nowhere for the liquid to evaporate to so you need to use less ;)

I use 2 oxo's and about 1 pint of liquid, carrots, swede, parsnips, onions and a couple of potatoes cut into chunks - the veg naturally thicken the stew, no need to add thickening.
