Struggling with porridge!

    Keep wasting sachets of porridge by them overheating loads in microwave and overflowing. Given up doing it in a bowl do it in a big jug and still overflows. Only put it on for a min tried with different temps of water... What am I doing wrong? Any tips gratefully received!

    i do mine on the hob chick, only heat it until it bubbles, put it in a bowl and give it about 5mins to thicken a little :)

    try turning the power down on ur microwave if u can or just put it in for a bit less time. or a deeper bowl :D

    I had the same problem and it sounds crazy but now I have it in a cup, a 'cup-a-porridge' lol. I just make it in a mug the same I would a hot shake and I don't microwave it at all, it thickens after a minute or so and for some reason I like it better this way.

    when i had a mircowave to do mine in i used to just keep opening the door let the porriage go back down then put it back on and keep doing that till it was done.
    i had lost a few before that

    Thanks peops, glad I'm not the only one who has had issues! I'll try out some of the tips and see if I can get it nailed!

    I always do mine on the hob - its just a pain to clear out a sticky microwave :)
