Susie's 2022 campaign

Morning! A lovely sunny day here and been busy since early...got people coming for dinner and had to make a mad dash to the shops. I've bought wine for the guests but what isn't drunk tonight either goes with them or down the sink (it's cheap enough here for me to do that without feeling wasteful :)).

B - foccaccia with tomato paste, tea
L - more foccaccia, with ham and cheese
D - SW bolognese ragu with a big mixed salad
S - twiglet type things (for the others), cottage cheese/light cream cheese dips with crudites

Coming in at 1,635.

Emotionally I still feel a bit all over the place. Old Flame and I had reconnected over 10 years ago, a long time for anyone to be in your life - but I have to keep reminding myself what he's really been like lately. I posted in Messenger that I thought we needed to unfriend so I could move on - so he reads that, doesn't say a single word or a goodbye and unfriends me....so despite what he said previously, I obviously didn't mean much to him.

Onwards and Upwards! :)

Oh Suzie, giving you lovely big hugs. Yes you would have meant something, you've just dented his ego that's all. Typical male I don't give a toss attitude (but he will or he woudn't have done that), though in fairness they're not all like that. You need to find someone who'll be there for you no matter what and still loves you for the beautiful person you are. Yes, 10yrs is a long time for someone to be in your life and it'll be sad to let go but taking a step back and giving yourself time for you then looking in again at what was there or not there seems a good choice to make. You sound a bit like me, I need the goodbye to move on and sometimes think it's hard to admit you can't fix something that's not quite there to fix.
Just when you're not expecting it some lovely person will turn up in your life and will think you're the best thing since sliced bread X (This will make you laugh.. I've been married 4 times:D)

Ps: Wish I was at your house for meals today:pAll sounds deee...vine :p X

Aww lovely post Tibbs, and agree with every word. So rainy here today wish I were there.
I moved house a couple of weeks ago. A little further out to the " almost" counrtyside ! So much stuff to sort out I dread to think what it must have been like for you !
Have you any plans to visit Downunder in the pipeline?

Thank you both so much - Tibbs your lovely words made me feel all warm and glowing, bless you poppet! Mwahhhh xxx (and sorry you had to go through 3 marriages to get the right fit - but you're there now yaye!).

I'm sure someone nice will come along, but first things first - lose weight and feel better about myself - for me :).

Had a lovely evening - but the friends all turned up with loads of wine (I had none!), so will regift them to others over the next week. They also brought yummy bocconnoti - pastry cakes with a hazelnut filling, the speciality of my village - and I had half a piece, then had to insist they took them home! I actually had to get a bit stern - "I can't have them in the house!" - before they agreed. Funny isn't it, people don't understand food addiction at all.

Well done on the house move Lottie - it's a nightmare isn't it! I'm pretty sure this is my forever house now - couldn't bear the thought of packing again!

Had some excitement with Stella tonight - I put a flea collar on her and the poor little thing managed to get it stuck in between her jaws ! It was quickly cut off, but I'll need to get her something to ward off the ticks, they are bad here. I hate the drops though, so not sure what Plan B will be.

Night all xxxxx

Oh that was scarey about Stella & her collar:eek: I found a thing on google about using aromatherapy to keep ticks off & getting ticks off pets https://homeremedyshop.com/home-remedies-for-ticks/ which looks interesting. You apply it with a cloth so sounds easy enough.
(Plus she'll smell devine:D)

Wow, you were so good when your friends were around, I'm not sure I could stop at half of anything. It's near impossible getting someone who isn't food addicted or a binge eater to understand that you really can't have the temptation under the same roof. They just don't get how it gets stuck in your head that it's there and must be eaten. But you did it, you turned those lush sounding goodies and the wine away...excellent, look at all the calories you've saved X

Yes it's strange isn't it - one mate said "Just put them in the freezer" and seemed surprised when I pointed out that the freezer simply wasn't a safe place to put bad food because it's just as easily hauled back out and eaten! :).

And thanks for the aromatherapy tip, I'll check it out.

Lottie - no plans to go home for a while, but hoping to see a Kiwi mate here later in the year :).

Off for lunch to another (new) friend's place today, it's a hard life - she says she's made salads, bless her. Will log it all when I get home.

Have a good one!

....You still call it home :) x

LOL yep, it always will be, I guess :).

Just home from a lovely lunch, my friend made FIVE different salads, bless her, including a beetroot and orange one that rocked! Then I drove home past Lake Casoli - such a beautiful day! Don't know how to upload pics though, anyone know?

B - pork loin with melted cheese on toast, tea
L - salads - apple & celery; beetroot & orange; mixed green salad; potato salad; 1/2 small can tuna - and then a few strawberries - delish!
D - ragu with pasta, parmesan, salad
S - red grapefruit
Total - 1,633

Room for an Options or something later :)

It was all very yummy, and she'd gone to great lengths to make low fat yogurt dressings - but not add them to the salads - genius! :). The beetroot one just had orange juice squeezed over it.

I took a wrong turn on the way home and ended up driving past the beautiful Lake Casoli - thanks Tibbs for the How To but I'm doing something wrong, I select the pic in my Pictures Library, there's no Done button, just Open or Cancel - so I clicked Open and it starts to upload but 3 times has stopped at 17% saying there's an error. Thoughts? :)

Hmmm, not sure Suzie. Maybe ask a question in technical support forum to get the help.

How very thoughtful of your new friend, I've never thought to drizzle orange juice over beetroot, will have to give that a try x

It was really lovely Tibbs, going to make it again tomorrow :).

Well, morning all! Another lovely day here but the guy who owns the garden in front of me is burning off the wood from winter and there's smoke everywhere - so the laundry can stay inside to dry today :).

Just a light brekkie as I'm off for lunch (again) to a local restaurant. The menu changes every day so will log food when I get home.

Sxx

Wow Suzie, your life is one big social whirl...perfect :)
It's another dull, chilly day here so still in hibernation :D
Enjoy your day X

Afternoon - had a fab day out :).

Lunch was tomato pasta with pancetta, then steak with roast potatoes and a dollop of yummy cheesy spinach bake (defrost frozen spinach, mix 100g grated parmesan with 2 eggs, pour over and bake). Absolutely lovely - but am still feeling as full as a bull, so will just have salad for dinner. Hard to guess the cals precisely but tried to over estimate, and still came in at 1,520.

Then we went shopping, then cappuccino - in a cafe with the most amazing cakes - but we both said no :D. Blimey!

Later - fail on the food front. Fancied a little snack, something like light cream cheese and celery - but then spied the leftover ragu and polished it off....still within cal limit but feeling really annoyed with myself - and too full of food! I actually stood at the fridge arguing with myself - "Put it back, you can do this, Put. It. Back!!" - and I did. Then walked back, grabbed it - blocking out the voice in my head - and that was that.

I must, must, must remember to put leftovers in the freezer straight away!

Morning all

Well despite my slip up last night I've lost 5lbs - very happy with that, especially at this high cal level. Maybe it's the magical whooshie qualities of green tea?. Will stay at this for a little while longer and see how I get on :). I'm certainly enjoying the food!

Menu today -

B - ham and cheese on Italian bread, tea
L - l/f eggplant parmigiana and salad - never made it before so could be a disaster :D
D - pork loin, courgettes and beans
S - cheese and scan bran

Total so far 1,508

So, I disappear for a few days and when I come back you're CC'ing  Can't keep up with you!:p:D

And obviously you are making an excellent job of it with a 5lbs loss...congrats hun!:D

I hope CC works out for you because I do think it offers more flexibility than anything else for someone in your situation (lots of socialising!), but there's nothing to stop you doing some SW days now and again if you feel you need a break from logging, which can get pretty tedious when you've been at it a while (trust me on that one!).

Definitely get those leftovers straight in the freezer - gotta say, I've had that argument with myself on too many occasions, so I only make enough food for one meal at a time now. Okay, it means more time spent cooking from scratch, but it also means I'm completely trained to know what an appropriate portion size is and not to expect seconds of anything. When my plate is empty, that's it - no more unless I'm prepared to immediately make the thing again, and that ain't happening, lol!

That's not to say I never batch cook, mind you, but it's rare, and when I do, I have my freezer containers ready and waiting so that I can portion out the food and whack it in the freezer as soon as its cooled so that nothing ends up in the fridge calling my name.

My aim is always to test my willpower as little as possible, and things like that can definitely help.:)

Your food sounds great today...but then it always does!x:D

LOL yep I change diet plans as often as my underwear sometimes :D. But am happy with the flexibility of it, just made the parmigiana and it tastes lush! Will definitely do that again.

Here's the recipe - https://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=133524

I do a lot of batch cooking and have ordered some food storage containers so I can do the same thing - get the leftovers packed away and out of sight!

Later - well girls I am stuffed full of lovely food. Pan fried some pork steak, steamed courgettes and beans, then added the leftover salad (sweetcorn, rocket, lettuce, toms, carrots) with a tbsp Nudo mandarin oil (my absolute favourite) and tried to eat all the veg first - and actually left food on the plate. It's in the fridge in case I want to chew on it later, because it's all been counted. Now sipping on gingerbread green tea, with a Pukka 3 ginger bag in there too, and am feeling very happy with myself :innocent002:.

Later still - worked out my menu for tomorrow, and now sipping on a yummy Options Mint drink, doubled the serving and it's really chocolately mmm. Also allowed for two digestive type bikkies and scan bran with cheese, but might leave them. We'll see

Morning! :D

Feeling very chipper after a decent night's sleep, and despite Mr Ikea not turning up with two kitchen cupboards...if they don't arrive today I'll get an Italian mate to ring them.

Menu for today -

B - scrambled eggs and bacon in a wrap, tea - very high cals, over 600, but I've been dreaming about this one for a while now :)
L - carrot and courgette spiralized with a coconut curry sauce, peas, beans
D - chicken sossies and sweet potato fries (mmmm) and spinach

Total so far - 1,397
