syn free or low syn ready meals???

There's a sticky in the syn values forum about ready meals which may be able to help you. Hope you find something!

I have a WW ready meal - brocolli, mushroom and potato wedges. It's 4.5syns. If I have it at home I boil up more veg and pour the whole thing over it!

Some of the WW ready meals are quite low too, there's one that is only 2.5syns on extra easy!

I am a huge fan of red days

I tend to have meaty leftovers, so for example ive got leftover chilli today......no rice :(

I also make Slimming world syn free quiche (fat free cottage cheese, bacon, mushrooms and eggs all cooked in the oven!)

I have Ryvitas and Dairylea!!!

Salads with cheese and bacon in

Quorn burgers and salads (low syns)

Fishsticks/prawns/Salmon and salads/syn free quiche.

Hope this helps a little - feel free to mooch in my Food Diary (in the other section on here)

It's worth doing some batch cooking and freezing single portions so that all you need to do it get one out before you go to work and then just reheat when you get home. It's great doing loads of individual meals from a big batch of mince. You could do shepherds pie, chilli, bolognaise, chilli, meatballs in tomato sauce.

Or perhaps make a huge saucepan of soup and freeze in individual portions.

HTH.

Ooh thanks for all the replies, they've been a great help! :) Just had a look at the section on here too about ready meals and got some tips from there. I'd not thought about making a batch and defrosting so might give that idea go.
Thanks again :)

I have to second what Denise said. Personally, I freeze at least 4 portions of chilli, bolognese, vegetable soup, shepherds pie and chicken casserole.

Either use tupperware-type containers, or freezer bags for individual portions. Simply re-heat and cook pasta or rice as required while waiting.

Much healthier than ready meals and with no added salt or sugar. Yes it means a little time spent cooking them, but saves a load of time when it comes to meals:)

I do this too! I use those little foil trays (like takeaway dishes) that you can get for cheap from the pound shop or Lidls. Then to defrost I get it out the night before, dip it in hot water to loosen and then drop it in a plastic tub to defrost fully. Saves having to buy loads of those little tubs!

I've also got some pour and store bags for soup, usually freeze things like chilli and stew. It's all good stuff!

Thanks hun - that's a great list!

Some good tips there - cheers!

My freezer is my savour. If i have meatballs, or spag bol (free on SW) then i put them in tupperwear and freeze them. I also make batches of soup and freeze them too with a bread roll. Then each morning i take one of the meals or a soup and a bread roll. By lunch it is defrosted and just need to pop it in the microwave.

Green Free Ready Meals / Tins

It's always nice to have some tins or frozen ready meals for when you're really pushed for time. I know I am with working and looking after my daughter! Does anyone know any nice tasting Green Day free ready meals or tins ? For instance:

Vegetable Raviolli
Sundar Chickpea Dhal

Looking forward to seeing your responses :) x
