Take away friday! HELP

Hey

I could do with some help. My family have started this 'take away friday' event where every friday a take away night, which includes some form of alcohol. Recently I have been enjoying these far too much but now I have gained over a stone and a half :(:(

I love to socialise with my family and I really enjoy this night (for obvious reasons) however I know that if I want to loose weight something has to give. I have tried to make the healthier options when Friday comes, ordering a starter with rice rather than a main with rice for example but I still know that eating like this isn't going to help me achieve my goal.

I was wondering if anyone knew any good alternatives to have when ordering from a indian or chinese take away? I have tried to find the calorie content of take away food online but this is almost impossible to find. I am asking for this because although I know the take aways aren't going to help, I want to occasionally let myself have one. I have tried the 'deprive myself of all foods I want' before and this didn't end up very well. I became quite depressed and stopped socialising. I want to allow myself these treats on rare occasions but want to choose the healthier option when doing so.

I always go for chicken and mushroom in gravy with boiled rice from the Chinese. I only eat 1/2 portion rice and don't eat the gravy either, just in case it's very fatty.

From the Indian if you go for something like a chicken tikka NOT tikka Marsala with boiled rice you shouldn't be too bad. The tikka is dry rather than covered in sauce like the Marsala.

In pizza hut I have the pizzetta . It's a low calorie wedged shaped pizza that's pretty good.

Avoid starters if at all possible . Eat slowly and no one will notice you're not eating as much

That sounds really tasty! I want that now haha mm yummy :) xx

Chow main for me from the Chinese as its noodles prawns and lots of veg.
If I remember correctly it is about 12 points for a small portion on the old discover WW plan.
Sorry can't help with the calories.

If you like seafood and if your getting an indian, they usually do a fish dish which has no sauce, anything grilled, i think there is a tikka salmon which is nice and juicy but no sauce(thats where all the salt is) and then either make your own brown rice to go with it or order plain rice.
same goes for chinese but I dont know much about it.
