I think I'll have to get the majority of mine done next week when I'm off, although I'm definitely only doing part time from the following week so it will make life easier. I'll do some extra lengths for you x
I think you're both doing really well. If you remember last year you were behind and you did catch up and get it done.
Nomad - I'd forgotten about Danny, wasn't he a conductor or guard on the train? If so I remember you going all "ga-ga" over him and jumping up and down on the platform when you realised he was on the train. Those were the days when we made the first class waiting room our own late on Saturday afternoons - remember the end of day cut price cookies from the little shop in Bristol Galleries and the cups of hot water we used to put our own tea bags into at the station. Taz was always happy at the railway station and on the trains and we all used to travel on a family railcard - when there were too many "kids" (we could only have 4) one would go as an adult for an extra £2 as we could have 2 adults at £2 each - ahhh... those were the days x
Ah yes - I remember - it was on the train you used to jump up and down and sometimes we had to change at Parkway and you got all excited.
Do you remember "the man from Gloucester" who always got the same train as us in the evening and used to have a crafty fag at the back once the guard had gone through. We never knew who he was but we knew where he was going x
Ah so you were all very young then. You've just made me realise I left the Army 17 years ago, that seems such a long time ago now, 8 more years and I'll have been a civvie longer than I was a Soldier.
Jim, my mum worked with Gem when we first moved to the area. I've known Gem and Taz pretty much most of my life. We disappeared from each other's lives for a few years and then a chance meeting in the middle of Bristol started everything off again and we haven't really lost touch since.
Yes we sure have Nomad! And that chance meeting in town was even more funny when we found out we lived just around the corner from each other!
Sorry for my absence, I have been away for the weekend and still just catching up with myself! We went to Alton Towers for a Hen weekend on Saturday then on Sunday Mr Taz and I went up to Huddersfield to visit some friends. On Monday we went to Blackpool on our way home for the day. Back to work yesterday morning and I was knackered!!!
I have put on a little more weight than I would have been ok about this weekend and we are going out to dinner tonight so I will have to be very careful tonight and for the rest of the week. We are going away for the weekend again in 3 weeks with The Stone's so I want to lose a little before then
